Twenty One

17:44, 10 April 2017

A few days later...

StilesI was trying on suits for the wedding with Scott, Liam, Parrish and Derek. My Dad got his suit already and I didn't have mine. "Why did we decide to get our suits a week before the wedding?" Liam asked. "Because I've been busy" I replied. I was trying on a grey suit that I liked. I held up a tie and bow tie. "Which one?" I asked. "Bow tie" Scott replied. I put the bow tie on and tied it. Straightening it up before looking in the mirror. "You look gret bro" Scott placed a hand on my shoulder. "Thanks man" I smiled back at him. "Is Stella coming to the wedding?" Parrish asked. "I don't think so.  I haven't invited her" I informed them. "Why not?" Parrish asked. "Because he doesn't want her there" Derek replied. "It would just be weird seeing her there" I shrugged. "Invite her. She might come" Parrish said. "I'll think about it"

-That night-

After a successful day of suit shopping I was at home, sitting at my kitchen table, going through paper work on a new case. Then I felt two arms wrap around my chest. It was Jess. "How's my handsome Fiancee?" She asked as she kissed my cheek. "Stressed" I laughed. "You working on a case?" she asked. "Yeah" I replied. "Wanna go out for dinner tonight?" she asked. "I already ate with the guys" i informed her. "Then can we do something?" she asked. "Like what?" I scoffed. "Go for walk, watch movies? Something couples do?" she asked. I sighed. "Give me twenty minutes and we can go for a walk" I smiled. "Perfect". She came up behind me and put her arms around my neck, pulling my head back to rest on her chest. Her fingers stroked my hair. She pulled the hair back from my forehead as she placed a soft kiss on my lips.

-out on the walk-

Myself and Jess were out walking, when she stopped in a Chinese take out. I stood outside waiting for her when I saw someone walking in my direction. "Stiles?" they said. "Hey Stel. What are you doing out at midnight?" I asked. "Just getting air" she shrugged. "You?" she asked. "Jess wanted food" I pointed my head to the window. "Ah I see" she laughed a little. Just then Jess walked out holding her bag of food. "Stiles I got the-. Oh hi Stella" Jess smiled. "Hi" Stella replied. "Um I'm gonna head back to the apartment with this. You coming?" Jess asked. "Um I'm gonna stay and talk to Stella for a bit. I won't be long" I informed Jess. Jess kissed my cheek and left. "Wanna go for a walk?" I asked. Stella nodded. Stella and I started walking to this abandoned park that we used to go to all the time. Stella sat on one of the swings and I sat on the one next to her. "Remember when we used to come here all the time as kids?" I asked. "Yeah. You used to argue with Scott about the swing" Stella laughed. "Hey you used to throw sand at me in the sand box" I laughed. "Thats because you were an annoying child" Stella laughed. Stella and I sat talking for awhile, catching up. "Come to the wedding" I asked. "I can't" she shook her head. "Why?" I asked. "It would be too awkward. Plus I don't think Jess would like me being there"she shook her head. "Screw what Jess thinks. I want you there" I informed her.  Stella sighed. "I'll think about it" she said. I nodded. "Are we okay?" I asked. "Yeah" Stella smiled a little. "I still haven't fully forgiven you for what happened but you are my best friend" she smiled. "Best friend? I thought I was the enemy?" I said sarcastically. "Do you want me to throw you in front of a bus? Coz I will" she said jokingly. "Can we leave the whole pushing me in front of a bus thing till after the wedding?" I asked. "Of course" Stella laughed. It was getting late. "Can I walk you home?" I asked. Stella nodded. We left the park and we started walking. "Are you happy?" I asked. Stella's happiness meant everything to me. "At the moment? Not really" she replied. "How come?" I questioned. "I don't know. I just haven't felt real happiness in a long time" she said. "Since we were together?" I asked. Stella looked at me and I could tell what she meant. "I'm sorry that I screwed up" I apologised. "Its okay" she said. "No its not. I ruined something so special" I informed her. Stella sighed. "That night that everything happened was the night that I had something to tell you" she said. "What?" I said. "The night I caught you cheating was the night I was going to tell you that I was pregnant" she informed me. "Y-you were pregnant?" I said in awe. "Yeah" I nodded. "Where's the baby?" I questioned. "I had a miscarriage two weeks after I was going to tell you" she replied. "H-how far long were you?" I swallowed. "At the time? 6 weeks" she informed me. "Does anyone know?" I asked. "No. I didn't even tell Scott or Lydia or my Mom" she shrugged. I felt a sudden sadness fall over me. I can't believe she had to go through with that. I admired her strength. "Stel I'm sorry" "Its okay" she replied. "You're one of the strongest people I know" I smiled at her.

Stella and I kept walking until we reached her apartment. "Thanks Stiles" she smiled."Hey anytime" I replied. Stella opened her apartment door. "Do you want me to call you a cab? It is pretty late?" she asked. "Nah it's fine. I'll walk. I don't live too far from here" he replied. Stella nodded. "Well call me if you need anything" I informed her. "Will do" she smiled and kissed my cheek before going back inside her apartment. "Hey Stel" I said before she closed the door. "Yeah?" She replied. "Goodnight" I said. "Night Stilinski" she smiled. Stella watched as I entered the elevator and waved before closing the door. Tonight I realised that I was stupid for hurting her. I love her. God I never stopped loving her.
