Chapter 11

Valt's P.O.V.We stared at Ella, ready to attack. My eyes burned, full of anticipation."When I say go, we run at her," Wakiya whispered behind me."Who put you in charge?" Rantaro whispered back."I did," Wakiya replied."Let Valt be in charge," Daigo said. The others reluctantly agreed.I watched Ella some more, then whispered, "Go!"We ran towards her, arms outstretched. She turned around at the last minute. "What the-" she yelped, just before we pounced on her."Kill her, Valt!" Rantaro shouted. He shoved a knife into my hand. I held it up above Ella's neck, ready to strike, but something stopped me.I can't do it, I thought. I can't kill her."Do it already!" Wakiya screamed. But I couldn't. I couldn't bring the knife down on her neck. I just felt... wrong somehow.Suddenly Ella jumped up, blasting a ball of fire at us. We jumped to dodge it, but she shot blast after blast at us."You... tried... to... kill... me!" she screamed.She aimed at me, and threw the ball of fire. It was coming to fast. I couldn't dodge it.A searing wave of heat hit me, knocking me out.

I woke up in some sort of forest. The moon shone above, casting the trees with white light. I looked around, and spotted a figure standing behind me. I recognized it somehow, even from this distance."Shu?" I gasped.Shy walked towards me. "You must go back and fight, Valt," he said quietly. "Go back and fight her. Free her of this evilness inside her.""How?""You will know what to do," Shu smiled at me."Are you sure?" I asked."Trust me," Shu kissed me gently. "You will know."Shu began walking away. "Don't go yet!" I cried, but the next thing I knew, I was awake, back in the room with the beyclub and Ella."Valt, are you ok?" Daigo asked, worried."We thought you were dead," Wakiya fretted.I got up, dazed. Ella was standing on the other side of the room, holding another ball of fire.You must fight her alone, a voice said in my head. It was Shu.Fight her alone, one on one.This is it, I realized.The final battle.
