"What? No." I yell, feeling a presence behind me.

I turn, seeing Al.

As he steps toward me he mouths a silent, "are you okay?"

I shake my head as Sera sighs over the phone.

"I'm sorry Lucifer. There is nothing I can do. The lord has made up his mind."

"There's plenty you can do! She's worked so hard for this and risked her life against YOUR army and yet you're shutting her out?"

"I tried what I could. He believes the have no place in the gates. They had a chance and blew it.."

"You're-.." I start, but stop before I can lash out.

"I apologize deeply, Lucifer. But I will promise no more exterminations amongst hell."

"How does this solve overpopulation? They aren't allowed up but you're not going to kill them anymore. Woo hoo! Let's all rot in an overpopulated shit storm!!" I snap, Al grabbing my hand, pulling me closer into a hug.

My body relaxes slightly as his fungers run through my hair.

"Please understand I cannot change his mind. I'm sure you'll figure it out."

"..unbelievable.. I don't know why I had faith in any of you." I hang up, looking at my screen.

"Are you okay?"

"Do I look okay?"

"No, you look about ready to cry."

That's because I am.

"I knew I shouldn't have trusted them to take care of it..I worked so hard..charlie..worked so hard..what am I gonna tell her.."

"Don't worry about it. I'll talk to her. Just relax."

We both look over, Husk standing at the end of the hall.

"Husker I will tear your soul apart if you open that big mouth of yours." Al threatens.

"You- and him-??? Wha-!!" He groans. "Shit..I owe niffty a new knife.."

"What-?"

"They've all been betting on the outcome of our relationship since hells greatest dad." I say.

"Why the hell-"

"Niffty said we had sexual tension..vaggie said she'd kill herself if we came out as a couple."

He gets silent, thinking for a moment.

"No."

"Come on, she's such a-"

"Nice girl who honestly has reason to hate you." I cut him off. "Beside couple isn't the word for whatever the hell this is."

"Considering we share a bed I'd say it is."

"You what???" Husk yells. "Man I owe angel fifty bucks.."

"And you owe cherri free drinks for afterlife."
