EIGHTEEN

"HURRY UP IN there!" Laci shouted, knocking on the bathroom door.

"I'm taming my hair!" Walker exclaimed back, trying to make his hair look good.

"It's just gonna blow in the wind." Hailey commented, sitting down against the wall next to the bathroom to slip on her shoes.

"Oh, shit, it is." Walker groaned, unlocking the door and shoving it open.

"Finally, I need to piss." Laci pushed him out the way and ran into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.

"Hey, Hails." Walker said, sitting against the wall across from Hailey.

"What up." Hailey smiled, tying her converse.

"You should ride some rides at fun land with me tonight, it'd be fun." Walker suggested, staring at Hailey's features. Then his eyes trail to her lips.

"I will, duh. Who else would I ride with? Laci and Kota are obviously gonna ride together, Tanner doesn't really feel safe on rides if it's not with, like, Leena or you so it'd probably be Tanner and Leena unless Tanner wants you to ride with him, so I'd either ride with you or Leena." Hailey yapped, not being able to stop herself because she was kind of nervous around Walker. She was supposed to kiss him tonight, so she was worried about what he's going to do.

"Yeah, that's cool. No hoodie?" Walker said, looking at her outfit.

"Nah, I don't think I'll get cold. Have you used the bathroom?" Hailey checked.

"Yup, and so has everyone else. We'll make it through. Until we drink stuff." Walker chuckled, putting one knee up and the other one reached out to Hailey.

"Your hair does look good, though. The wind is gonna ruin it." Hailey added, tying the last lace on her converse and bringing her knees to her chest.

"I know, that's gonna get on my nerves. Yours is gonna blow around, too." Walker said, then pointing to Hailey's hair that was down.

"I'm probably just gonna put it up." Hailey shrugged.

"Want me to braid it?" Walker asked, offering the skills he learnt from Leena and his mom.

"You know how to braid?" Hailey tilted her head, wrapping her arms around her legs.

"Yeah, c'mere." Walker said, fixing his legs into criss cross apple sauce and tapping the floor infront of him. Hailey crawled over to him and sat right infront of him, her legs to her chest while Walker split her hair into three parts.

"Look at them." Leena whispered to Dakota.

Hailey sat there flustered, seeing both Dakota and Leena staring at them from the corner of her eye, her cheeks feeling hot. She felt like her heart was about to explode out of her chest.

"Move, fool." Laci said when she came out the bathroom, kicking Hailey's ankle.

"Laci, go kiss on Dakota." Walker shot back, but he wasn't even the one getting insulted.

"Go kiss on Hailey." Laci turned around, looking at how Walker was steadily braiding Hailey's hair.

"Laci, stop." Hailey said, putting a disgusted look on her face and knowing that Walker had one on too. Even though he did want to kiss on Hailey, but that didn't really matter.

"Come on, we've gotta get going soon." Laci rolled her eyes, going to the door to get Tanner from his hotel room.

Walker finished up Hailey's braid and tapped her shoulder twice to signal he finished, then they got driven there by Walkers dad.

THE SIX KIDS were left on the boardwalk since Walkers dad just decided to look at some of the hardware stores around.

"Can we go to fun land and then get something to eat?" Tanner pleaded, wanting to get on the rides before it got dark.

"Fine, just shut up." Laci rubbed his head, then moving over to put her head on Dakotas shoulder.

"Yes, there it is! Come on, let's go." Tanner celebrated, grabbing Haileys hand who was walking next to him and just dragging her along because she was the closest to him.

"How is she so good with kids? I swear, she has the worst patience but has so much patience for kids." Dakota commented, shaking his head while Hailey stops Tanner and walks with him instead.

"I think it's cute." Walker said suddenly, then slapping a hand over his mouth when he realized.

"Woah, you think what?" Laci turned her head over, walking into fun land now. Hailey and Tanner were already in the ticket line, which wasn't long.

"Shut up, I just think anyone who gets along with kids like that is cute, not in that way." Walker tried to cover up his mistake, rolling his eyes.

"Yeah, okay." Laci chuckled. Walker rolled his eyes at Laci and went over to Hailey and Tanner, standing on the other side of Tanner.

"Alright, Leena. You know the plan, right?" Laci smiled, looking at the blond girl.

"Yeah. But when?" Leena questioned, that information not being known.

"After, like, five rides." Laci replied, walking up more while Walker, Hailey, and Tanner got there ticket.

After three rides, Leena actually had to use the bathroom. "Laci?"

"Yeah, Leen?" Laci replied. They were in line for the ship that rocks back and forth.

"I actually have to go pee." Leena said, looking at Hailey and Walker who were having a conversation infront of them.

"Kota." Laci said, smiling because their plan was going quicker.

"Yeah?" Dakota responded.

"After this ride, it's time for the bathroom." Laci nodded.

"Okay, got it." Dakota said, then bending down to talk to Tanner. He didn't wanna ride this one, so Dakota didn't ride with him.

The ride finished, and Hailey and Walker were laughing at the kid infront of them.

"Why was his face straight like that? He was like," Hailey laughed, then making a straight face with her eyes wide.

"It was horrifying, then he turned around when we screamed!"

"Hailey, do you need to go to the bathroom or anything?" Dakota turned around, stopping Walker and Hailey. Leena and Laci were standing behind him, talking about something that only God knows what.

"No, does Walker?" Hailey asked, turning to look at the side of Walkers face.

"No, I'll watch your guys' stuff." Walker shrugged.

"Yeah, you and Hailey can watch our stuff." Dakota said, then continuing to walk with Tanner, Laci, and Leena.

"Really put us on the spot like that, damn?" Hailey shook her head, then making her feet move and following them.

"It's fine, at least it's us?" Walker caught up, putting his arm around her.

"Yeah, I guess." Hailey hugged herself, feeling kinda cold because of the wind.

"You should've brought a jacket." Walker said, walking out of fun land.

"Oh, hey, the sun is setting." Hailey pointed.

"Be right back." Dakota said, holding Tanners hand while walking to the bathroom and then Laci and Leena walked into the ladies bathroom.

"Hailey, you look like you're frozen. And it's not even that cold out." Walker commented, looking at the stubborn Hailey infront of him.

"Do you have a jacket for me?" Hailey sassed.

"Here, it's on my body." Walker chuckled, taking off his hoodie and handing it to Hailey.

"Thank you." Hailey put on his navy hoodie, then leaning on the wall that keeps the boardwalk from the beach to see how the sun is setting.

"You're welcome." Walker said, leaning next to her and pressing his side against hers.

Hailey looked over at him, glancing at his features from the side of his face.

"Staring problems?" Walker said, still looking at the sun.

"Yeah." Hailey muttered, making Walker turn his face back to her.

"No shame?" Walker questioned, leaning his face down more.

"Why would there be shame?" Hailey tilted her head, glancing at his lips for half a second and then made eye contact with him again.

"What'd you just look at, Hails?" Walker asked, glancing at her lips too.

"Take a guess." Hailey said boldly, grinning slightly.

"Come on." Walker said, moving closer and making Hailey stare at him.

"What?" Hailey asked, glancing at his lips and then at his eyes again. This pattern repeated a couple times, until Walker had enough and grabbed her cheeks with both his hands, keeping her face straight.

"You know what." he muttered, bringing her face closer. He glanced down again, slowly moving closer. Hailey put her hand on his cheek and stood up straight, kissing him on the lips.

Walker closed his eyes almost immediately, keeping one hand on Hailey's cheek and the other one on her waist.

"Holy shit, Leena. Look." Laci pointed at the two kissing when they peeked out

"Finally, damn."

Walker and Hailey pulled away for air, Walker admiring all of Hailey's features before speaking.

"Everyone adores you." Walker spoke, smiling while he brought his hand to the back of her neck, stroking her jaw.

Hailey tilted her head, not believing him while she subtly shook her head.

"At least I do." Walker shrugged, his other hand squeezing Hailey's waist, making her laugh a bit because of how ticklish she was.

"I love you." Hailey said, looking into Walkers gorgeous eyes, his blue and her brown connecting. Walkers breath hitched, and Hailey noticed which made her grin a little. He took a second to respond, until replying.

"I love you too." He said, his eyes basically glistening while he stared down at Hailey. "I always have."
