Chapter 10: Andromeda

19:25, 27 March 2025

Eryndor was staying at our cottage and was playing with Dora.

"Children! It's snack time!" I called out and they both came downstairs, running. "Don't run, it won't fly away."

They sat down in the kitchen and started eating, smiling at each other.

"Your mother will pick you up in one hour, Ery," I said and saw his smile drop.

"She went shopping with Draco," he said.

"Yes, I know. She told me."

"She never does this with me. She says I have everything I need."

"Is it true?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I know that 'everything' is a dad, but I'd like new books and clothes too, Andy."

"What do you mean you have a dad? Draco doesn't?"

"I know we don't have the same dad, Auntie Andromeda! It's obvious!"

I smiled sadly at him. This kid was so smart. Too smart for his own good. Narcissa was so determined to make Draco happy that she forgot that her other son might not be that happy.

"And your dad? What does he say about this?" I asked.

"They fight. He doesn't agree with mum. I don't like hearing them argue."

"I know, Eryndor. I'm sorry."

"There's nothing you can do, Auntie Andromeda. And now, mum is pregnant and she'll forget about me because 'I'm the oldest so I can take care of myself'."

"Ery. You're five."

"I know, Andy. I know."

"Hey kids!" Ted said as he entered the kitchen, smiling. I smiled back at him and the kids yelled.

"Hey Uncle Ted!"

"Hey dad!"

One hour later, Narcissa came to pick Eryndor up. I didn't want us to fight, so I didn't say anything about the way she was raising her kids.

In November, Narcissa gave birth to a little girl, Sophia Elena Lupin.

Eryndor wasn't doing great with his sister's birth so I decided to invite him and Draco over every weekend. I didn't want to invite his brother because he didn't get along with Nymphadora, but because his brother was invited, I had to invite him too.

After one month, though, he stopped coming and it was just Dora with her favourite cousin.

Eryndor was growing smarter, I could tell. He knew his father was a werewolf and that his brother and he didn't have the same father. He read lots of books and always wanted to learn new things.

Ted and I had decided to take them to the museum so that Eryndor would be able to learn new things.

He loved these trips. He always told me how museums taught him more than school.

When he turned seven, because Narcissa wanted her sons to 'be equal', she asked us to stop taking Eryndor over for the weekly pyjama parties with Dora.
