Draco POV _____________

I had hard time leaving Chloé in my room sleeping alone, not being able to be with her when she wakes up, but yet again, I had no other choice.

Mother sent an owl for me, I had to go home. Although she didn't write what for, I have a very clear idea why. It's been a long time without any task, the Dark Lord surely gave me some. I just hope it has nothing to do with Chloé. I'll do anything to keep her out of this.

I quickly transported home trough the black book before Chloé realizes I'm not there. I wonder what she'll think when she wakes up alone. Damn it, I should've left her a note.

Every time I visit my home, the house gets uglier and dustier. There are no signs of my mother's beloved garden anymore, it's just dry grass and bushes. I think it has something to do with the rise of Dark Lord. Everything just seems sad and miserable.

When I walked in to the entrance hall, our house elf is already waiting for me. We've had many and many house elves, because none of them lasted longer than a year. Every time the elf knows too much, Lucius simply kills them, even though the elves can't share our secrets with anyone.

This one is probably new, because I haven't seen him yet. He looks poor, underweight and dirty.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Hermy, sir."

"Where are my parents, Hermy?"

He started walking towards the living room, so I followed him. Turns out he was right, my mother is sitting on a couch and Lucius is standing in front of a fireplace and looking right into it.

"Draco, my boy!" Shouted Narcissa when she noticed me. She immediately stood up and walked to me, her arms grabbed me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around her and closed my eyes for a while. I believe my mother's hug gives me very special kind of energy that I need to keep myself sane.

"Hello, Draco." Greeted me Lucius, but didn't bother looking at me. He continued staring into the fire.

"Let's sit down, shall we?" Suggested mom and we both sat down next to each other.

"Are you hungry, dear?"

"No, thank you. I just want to know my task and leave." I said.

She placed her hands on my knees and sighed.

"Lucius..." mumbled mom and my father finally took his eyes out of the fire and came closer to us.

"As you probably know, a new student transferred to Hogwarts last October..."

Oh no. If this is-

"She was sorted into Slytherin, her name is Chloé and she's in your year. Do you happen to know her?"

Suddenly, the room seems to be so warm, I feel like I'm gonna burn alive in my clothes. I quickly glanced at mom and I'm sure I saw a tear in her eye. I can't do this.

"Yes, I've heard of her." I said, trying to not make my voice crack.

"She's from Beauxbatons. Draco, she's incredibly necessary for us, as she's the only one who can show us her school for our invade. We need her."

"Mother..." I mumbled.

"Your task is to watch her, get to know her, make sure nothing happens to her. When the time comes, and I don't know when, that's up to the Lord, she will lead us to France. That's the only way it can be done."

My heart started racing so fast.

"But..."

"Draco, this is your chance to prove the Dark Lord that you're trustworthy. He told us that if you succeed in this task, you'll have a long, undisturbed life. So please, take it seriously, darling. And be careful." Said mother calmly.

"Will she die?" I asked with a big hump in my throat.

"She can't die until she shows us the school."

"And then?"

"I don't know, maybe? Who cares?" Replied Lucius.

I fucking care.

"Fine. I'll do it." I said through my teeth and frowned my face at Lucius.

"I didn't ask you. It's your task, you have to do it."

"Oh just shu-"

"Draco!" Shouted mom.

"Can I speak to you, mother? Between two eyes." I said and glanced at Lucius.

"Of course. To the kitchen."

We went there and I leaned over a black kitchen counter. Mother sighed.

"Mom, there's something I need to tell you." I said slowly.

"Yes?"

"Chloé is my girlfriend."

I could feel my eyes slowly watering. I can't do this, it's too much.

"Oh my-...Draco-" she looked shocked.

"I can't do this, mom...I can't lie to her like that. I love her and really really care about h..." my voice cracked into crying sigh.

She moved closer to me and help my cheek with her soft cold hand.

"My lovely boy...you're in love?" She asked.

"I am..."

"Is she a nice girl?"

"The best you can imagine. She's beautiful, talented, intelligent, the best student in our year and she can draw very well...I just can't lose her, mother..."

She gently stroke my cheek.

"I can feel it, Draco. Oh my god...that's unbelievable..."

"What?"

"She's your...soulmate. I can't believe you find her, it's very rare and in your age...I can feel it."

At this point, she's crying too.

"What am I supposed to do?"

"Honey, if she truly loves you, she'd do anything. Trust me. Take care of her and keep me updated. Prepare her for what's to come and tell her you'll both...you'll both d-..."

"He'll kill us both if we don't do it, won't he?" I asked.

She nodded her head and sobbed.

"I'm going to her house this weekend, mom. To France." I tried to change subject.

"That's great, honey. I hope you two have fun. I wish you could invite her to our house...perhaps I could arrange something..."

"It's okay, she knows she can't. I told her about us."

"Good, good you did, because if she knows who we are and still loves you, that just proves she'll do it. That's good, Draco."

"Thanks, mom. Can I go now?"

"No, wait...are you still friends with Blaise?" She asked me.

"I guess...why?"

"His mother told me that he's joining the Death eaters."

I couldn't believe my eyes. Blaise a Death eater? He doesn't hurt a fly, I can't imagine him doing deadly tasks.

"Is that so?"

"Yes and I made a deal that he will help you with your task."

"Help me how?"

"That's up to you two, my dear."

Chloé POV_____________

I haven't found Draco. I've been looking for him the whole morning, but not a sign of him anywhere. Blaise thinks he went home, but I'm not sure...wouldn't he leave a note or something?

I'm confused. Every time me and Draco seem to be having a great time, like really really great, it never lasts more than a day. It just fucks up eventually. Honestly, I should get used to that.

I've searched the whole school and the last place that is possible is the room of requirement. That's why I got to an emptier corridor.

Okay, what now? What do I do?

When I went there with Draco, it sort of appeared itself, or Draco might have summoned it, I don't know.

Think, Chloé. It's called room of requirement, so it probably appears when you need it the most.

What do you need?

"I need to find Draco." I mumbled under my nose while my eyes were closed. I slowly opened my left eye to peek, but nothing, no door.

"Where is Draco?"

"I'm in desperate need to find Draco Malfoy."

Nothing, nothing and nothing.

"Chloé?" Said someone behind me. It shocked me a little, because I was so caught up in summoning the room. I turned to see who it is.

"Hi, Fred." I awkwardly waved my hand and quickly put it down.

"What are you doing here?"

"Just...nothing. How are you? Haven't seen you in a while." I said and stepped closer to him.

"Yeah, I thought you didn't want to see me..."

"What? No, why would I want that?" I shook my head.

"Well, we kinda had a fight before the ball, remember?"

"Oh, right. I totally forgot about that, so many things happened..."

"Can you explain the Cedric kissing? Like how-"

"No, I can't, sorry. It's too long."

"Okay, if it's too long. Probably don't have time for that anyway..."

This conversation is getting worse and worse with every word.

"How is Angelina?" I asked.

"She's umm...I don't know actually, we broke up right after the ball."

Oh.

"Oh...I'm sorry. What happened?"

"She kissed other boy, so that's pretty much it."

"I'm so sorry, Fred. Are you okay?"

"Of course! I didn't even like her that much. No hard feelings."

"I should go." I said after a long quiet while.

"Right, see you."

I quickly walked away. What the hell just happened?

How could I forget about Fred? He's been there for me every time I felt bad, so what happened between us? The awkwardness? It was horrible!

I feel like I'm loosing everyone because I'm too obsessed with Draco. When did I get so fucking toxic?!

And where the hell is Draco?

Probably fucking with Pansy by now under the love potion, I guess. There's no other explanation.

I walked into the common room and looked, hoping to find him. Nothing.

At this point I'm giving up and walking into my corridor. I need to go to classes, anyway. As I unlocked my room, Draco suddenly opened his door.

"Morning." He said and smile.

"Where have you been?! I've been looking for you everywhere!"

"Calm down, women. I had to go home, it was urgent.

"God, Draco. You could've just left a note...why are you eating up my nerves like that."

He came closer and gave me a little kiss on my forehead.

"I'm sorry." He whispered.

"You know, Pansy wants to give you a love potion. That's why I've been so scared..."

"I've heard that, too. I made clear that if she tries that I'm getting her a detention." He giggled.

"I must go now, I have Divination."

"Don't gooo..." his lips softly kissed mine.

"Bye, Draco." I said and winked at him.
