34: Overprotective
01:03, 11 September 2016JAMIE POV
When we arrived at school and to our class, everyone stopped to stare at me on Jimin's back. Suddenly feeling uncomfortable, I tried to get off, but his grip tightened on my legs. He quickly moved towards our seat as he sat me down carefully next to Rachel. With that, everyone started to talk amongst themselves once again.
"Oh my gosh! Jamie! What happened?" Rachel, Taehyung, and Jungkook asked. I rubbed the back of my neck as Jimin sat behind me, snaking his arms around my waist.
"I fell down the stairs..." I said. They looked at me in shock.
"Seriously?" Jungkook asked. I nodded.
"You should have been more careful!" Rachel scolded.
"Sorry..." I said, but I have to admit, it feels good to have such caring friends in my life. Just then, before the conversation could carry on further, a figure walked into the room and the table fell silent. I smiled at the figure, but she just ignored me and walked to the table in the far end of the room.
"Don't mind Anna. I don't think she plans on talking to us anytime soon." Rachel said. I felt guilty...
"Jamie, do you feel any pain?" Jimin asked, his breath against my neck. I turned to him as I shook my head.
"Guys I'm fine okay? I should be back to normal in a few weeks or months." I said. Then, the bell rang and Jimin helped me turn the chair to face the front of the room. With that, class started and I prayed for the day to carry on faster.
.
.
Right after fourth period, Jimin assisted me to get to the canteen safely. He refused to leave my side as he tailed me, watching my every movement. He apparently "can't be too careful."
"Jimin, I am able to use my crutches and move around. It's not like I'm not able to take care of myself." I said to him. "I'm not a baby and I can take care of myself." I added.
"Says the girl who fell down the stairs." He said sarcastically. Oh Jiminie, if only you knew.
"Excuse me, I am human and I make mistakes, but that should not strip me from my rights of free movement without being followed. For the hundredth time, I'm fine, don't worry okay?!" I emphasized. He finally sighed.
"Fine, but I'm still walking you to the canteen for lunch." He said. I shook my head as we proceeded forward. When we got there, Jimin went to get our lunch since he made me "wait and rest" at our table, as if that would have much affect at this point. While I was waiting for him and the rest of Bangtan, three figures approached me.
"Aww did poor Jamie get a boo boo." Chelsea mocked.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"So you take another girl's boyfriend, then you make him stay home since you broke your leg?" She assumed. I scoffed.
"Well, actually I was taking care of my boyfriend who was sick, probably from seeing your face too often." I snapped. I was in no mood for her attitude, and if she wanted to play hard, I was totally up for it. Tables around me snickered as everyone fell silent. Chelsea looked around, embarrassed.
"At least I'm not stupid enough to break my leg. Now you can't dance, not that you were really able to beforehand. I don't even know how you got on the dance team." She added. Her comment almost made me laugh. She was making this way too easy.
"Well it's either your brain is too small to process reality or your ego is too big for your tiny butt to handle because your the only person who can't tell apart good and bad dancers. I got on the dance team because I actually have a skill to move my body, unlike you where everyone knows, you bought your way onto the team." I answered. Everyone around me started yelling 'burn' and 'ooh'. Chelsea's eyes twitched.
"Did you hit your head too when you broke your leg? Because everything you're saying is obviously bs." She said.
"Still truer than the crap that comes out of your mouth." I said.
"You little--" She took a step towards me but a voice stopped her.
"Get away from her." Jimin said.
"Oppa! She's insulting me!" Chelsea defended. I turned to see Jimin with a serious face, his grips tight on our trays of food.
"I saw you approach her, so you asked for it." He said. He came next to me with our trays of food, put one in front of me, sat down, and said,
"Eat something. I don't want you to get hungry too." He said. Everyone continued to stare at us while Chelsea was twitching from annoyance.
"Why must you take care of this good-for-nothing exchange student right in front of me?" She asked Jimin. Jimin shot a glare at her.
"Because she's my girlfriend, and she means everything to me." He said.
"Awwww." Everyone in the canteen commented. I blushed. Chelsea and her friends looked embarrassed as anger and sadness plastered Chelsea's face. I almost felt bad. Did I take it too far?
A few moments later, the three girls stomped away as everyone gave me winks and smiles for my comebacks. I sighed.
"That was mean. I shouldn't have snapped at her." I said to myself.
"It's fine, I'm proud of you. Someone had to put her in her place." Jimin said.
"Yeah but I didn't want to make my problem with her bigger." I said.
"You're not exactly having a great morning, and she bothered you. It's fine." He said. I smiled at him.
"You're a really good boyfriend. Tell me, how many other girls have you used your lines on before me?" I asked. He froze and looked at me.
"What do you mean? All of my romance is original and new. Your the only one I used it on. I mean, girls liked me before, but I never accepted them, and I'm not going to lie, I liked some of them before, but your the only one I actually liked enough to ask out." He said. I nodded.
"I see..." I said. Then, he turned serious.
"How about you? How many boyfriends have you had before me? How many guys tried to win your heart but wasn't good enough? How many dudes have you kissed and hugged and loved hmm?" He asked. I giggled at his adorable curiosity. You were the only one I liked enough to gain courage to go against my father. You're the only one who won my heart and your the only one I have kissed and hugged and loved. I smiled.
"A couple." I joked. His eyes widened.
"What?! How many?!" He asked.
"3... Oh wait 4." I continued teasing. My heart fluttered at his cuteness. He really does love me.
"Did they have a better body, face, or personality than me? What were their names? How long did you date them!" He kept asking, growing more anxious and scared. I laughed.
"I'm just kidding Jiminie, your my first boyfriend." I said. He looked at me, confused as relief spread across his face.
"What? Really?" He asked. I nodded. He sighed with relief.
"Thank goodness, not that I was worried or jealous or anything... I was just wondering how many guys I beat with my jams." He said. I continued to laugh as Bangtan and Rachel finally made it to our table. With that, Jimin told them about my verbal fight with Chelsea, and they all cheered for me.
.
After a while, the bell rang and Jimin, Rachel, Suga, and Jhope helped me get to Spanish class. Jimin was still overly protective as he walked closely behind me, making sure I didn't get hurt.
"Jimin give her space to breathe, she'll get claustrophobic before she falls again for you to catch her." Suga said.
"Thank you Suga, don't you think he's going a little over board? I mean I can still move, it's not like I can't use the rest of my body." I said, turning to Jimin. Rachel slightly pushed Jimin aside as she made space between him and me.
"Dude you have to calm down. She's a big girl." She said. Jimin sighed and gave up.
"Thank you." I said. Then, I turned around and used my crutches as support to go to my class. Once I got there, I went towards my seat, but before I could sit down, one of my crutches hit a chair leg and I lost my balance. I was about to fall but someone caught me. I thought it was Jimin, so I was ready to hear the words "I told you so" but as I turned, I saw the face of not Jimin, but of Minho, smiling down on me. He helped me sit down as he took both of my crutches and put it on the side of my desk.
"Be careful. You wouldn't want to hurt any other part of your body." He said. I saw Jimin, Rachel, Suga, and Jhope near the door, and the boys looked furious, especially Jimin. He made his way over to me as he slightly shoved Minho out of the way.
"See? This is why I was so protective of you." He said.
"Well, it looks like you did a great job. She almost fell on her face." Minho added. Jimin turned around, fists clenched.
"Shut your face, I wasn't talking to you." He said through gritted teeth. I quickly reached out and grabbed one of his hands, caressing and relaxing it.
"Jimin..." I said. He sighed as he turned back to me, relaxing his fists.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded. "Okay then." He said. With that, he turned and walked to his seat. I turned to Minho.
"I saved your butt." I said. He laughed.
"Thanks? But I could take him. He's too short to beat me." He commented.
"He is the perfect height for me and he is still strong." I defended.
"Yeah yeah. Anyway I have a question." He said. I raised my eyebrow.
"What?" I asked.
"Our basketball team is playing our rival school tomorrow afterschool, and I was wondering if you can come to watch and support us?" He asked. "I mean Jimin will be at dance practice, but since you can't practice anyway, might as well come and support your school right?"
I debated about it in my head.
"I'll think about it." I said and he smiled.
"Cool." He replied, with that, he turned back and started taking out his notebook for class. Meanwhile, I sighed and did the same as the bell rang, indicating that class was about to start.
