Chapter 12

   Crickets sang as the stars glowed brightly. The cool night air wrapped itself around the cuddling lovers, each boy too afraid to break the silence, too afraid to pull away in fear that they would never feel the warmth of the other again. It was a peaceful sight and Colby couldn't have been happier. His skin sung with pleasure, every part of him that touched Sam engulfed with a fire like heat that he craved more of. His eyes never once left Sam's face as the blonde boy stared at the quiet world around them, blissfully unaware. Colby's eyes traced Sam's features from his eyebrows to his lips and their ghost of a smile. Sam's lips were art, they had to be crafted by god himself or so at least that is what Colby thought. He wanted nothing more than to feel his lips on Sam's knowing, just knowing that they would fit together like a final puzzle piece. The moon and the sea finally becoming one in a passionate proof of love. Colby's mind practically pounded with the word love as he tried desperately to search for another word that validated his feelings. Colby only knew that he did not just adore Sam Golbach, no he was in love. As much as the word terrified him he knew that it was right, it laced itself into his beating heart, meaning his heart only beat for the boy with blonde hair and blue eyes that laid on him. Sam was unofficially his in his mind and in his heart, the love of his life but too afraid to say the words out loud in fear of scaring the other boy off. 

 Sam was scared of his own emotions. He felt Colby's hands trace hearts on his arms that sent waves of electricity up his spine. He knew what he was feeling was more than just adore but the whole idea sent him in a whirl of emotions the boy couldn't comprehend. Colby made Sam sick with emotions, forcing him to be full of something he couldn't possibly understand but he loved it. He was already addicted to the feeling he got when laid in Colby's arms. He closed his eyes letting the cool air hit his face causing his blush to die down just a shade. He could picture many nights just like this one with Colby always by his side. The smile of the brunette boy was the most beautiful thing in the world, at least according to Sam. Carefully, Sam lifted his gaze to look at Colby hoping not to get caught. He seemed to catch the one moment Colby looked away as Sam traced his jawline with his eyes, landing lastly on his lips. They looked soft and welcoming just like his stupid smile that never left Sam's mind. Colby had a thing for blondes and blue eyes but Sam apparently had a thing for soft smiles and messy hair. Closing his eyes once again Sam could imagine the feeling of Colby's lips on his and how painfully obvious that they were made for one another. Sam was scared but Sam was also scared of roller coasters yet then never ceased to make him fill with giddy laughter and happiness too. Colby was like a roller coaster, and boy Sam sure as hell was glad he decided to take him for a ride. (A/N: This sounds way dirtier than I meant to make it oops. ~Nightmare) 

 Colby sat up bringing Sam with him, the blonde still cuddled into his chest. The flowers that he handed Sam earlier were long forgotten as they laid next to the boy who cherished them. The crickets slowly died down as Colby pushed Sam off of him, "Sam look at me." The blonde boy complied as he pulled himself away from Colby and turning to face him along with seating a criss cross fashion. Colby copied the boy in front of him, "Colby-" The sentence Sam started faded into his throat as the two boys made eye contact. Deep dark blue and bright vibrant blue. The two got lost in one another, words caught in their mouths as their hearts beat in the same time as one another. Colby brought his hand up to caress Sam's cheek, the skin beneath the brunettes hand crawled as it lit up with heat as a blush made itself a spot across Sam's face causing Colby to let out a soft giggle, "Sam you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. You even out shine the stars." Sam averted his gaze to the ground as Colby only continued on, "From your blush to your smile. God Sam you're perfect in every way." With each word Colby leaned in closer sending Sam's heart into a frenzy. His stomach filled no longer with butterflies but instead the whole goddamn zoo. He seemed to tremble under Colby's stare. 

 "Colby, I think you're pretty gorgeous too. It was almost as if god himself sculpted you." Sam's blush deepens at the sound of his corny line but Colby's smile only erupts into the smile Sam has learned to crave, "I'm really glad I gave this a try because I think I have finally figured my feelings out." Sam murmured as the two boys leaned in even closer to one another. Colby and Sam stared into each other's eyes their faces seemed to be inches apart. Both boys had their eyes fall away from one another landing on the other's lips. 

 Colby's heart was racing as he leaned in so close that their noses were barely touching, hovering. Should he do this? What if Sam realizes he hates him or runs away? Little did he know Sam was thinking the same thing, "Should he? Could he? Sam had never kissed anyone before but by the way his heart pounded and how much he yearned to feel Colby's lips on his his mind muttered fuck it, "I think I want to kiss you." Sam whispered as he closed the gap between him and Colby. 

 The kiss was soft, tender, and new. It was a little sloppy but both boys didn't mind knowing no other kiss would compare to the one they were having now. Beneath the stars with the music of the crickets buzzing away the blonde and the brunette melted into one another,

 Because when the moon and the sea finally touch nothing can pull them apart.
