A/N: I would like to say this is the first thing I have written consecutively and not given up on. I thank you guys for your comments and votes they really push me to keep going ~Nightmare

A whole week. That is how long Sam managed to avoid Colby. From running to classrooms, hiding in bathroom stalls, and lying to teachers that he is sick to get all his class work and not have to sit next to Colby, along with having to turn off his phone for Colby messaged him once everyday sometimes more. It was almost like the brunette wouldn't take the hint and secretly Sam was glad. Not once did Sam have a friend that cared about him as much as Colby did but at the same time every time his phone lit up his heart would start up again with all of his confused teenage hormones.  It was Monday once again, leaving Colby answer less even over the week end. As Sam walked into school his eyes darted around landing on the very brunette he intended on avoiding. His hair was messily swept to the left as always and Sam sighed in relief when no leather jacket was in sight. Sam's feet started walking towards Colby his body and heart taking over as his brain screamed no. The brunette who had head phones in his ears stared at the ground as Sam brought his hand up to tap his shoulder trying to find the right words to say, could he tell Colby the truth? I mean they just became friends and when creating a friendship you need to create a foundation of truth, not talk once then run away. Sam knew that but his feelings scared him, they were intense, so much so that he didn't even realize what he was doing until he felt hands around his waist pulling him in,

"SAM! You're not contagious right?" Colby laughed as he held tightly to Sam who had his eyes open in shock his brain not yet caught up to his hearts decisions. Colby pulled back taking in the blonde hair and blue eyes he had missed, the color in his dreams never seemed to match up right, "I'm- I'm fine Colby. It was just a stomach bug." Sam awkwardly laughed as Colby looked him up and down, "Good. Why didn't you respond to my texts though, I was worried about you Sammy." Sam but his lip as Colby waited for an answer, the millions of little X's Colby sent him flying through his head sending a wave a warmth down his spine, "I slept most of the time and the small amount of time I was up I had my phone off just focusing on getting better." Colby seemed to not her the small quiver in Sam's voice as he stood under Colby's stare, "Alright, but that can't happen again okay? I thought it was just like old times and you didn't like the real Colby." Sam softened when he heard Colby's whimper as he forgot that his actions had harmful consequences. Who knew that Sam Golbach the boy who hated the new kids guts would have so much feelings for him.

"Uh and Sam, after school today could we get together I want to talk to you." Colby's voice sounded strangled as Sam nodded an okay, "where should we meet?" Both boys let Sam's question hang in the air, Colby unsure if he really wanted to go through with what he had planned, "Behind the school." With that Colby walked away head in his hands, he really hoped he wouldn't regret it. Sam watched as his friend walked away anxiety flowing through his veins.

Colby sat through all of his classes with his mind wandering, every thought leading to the many possibilities to this afternoon. His feelings for Sam only had seem to grow over the past week, his thoughts were consumed with the moon, blonde hair, blue eyes, and the soft kind glow that always seemed to emit from Sam Golbach.  He didn't know what seemed to be going on in Sam's head but his own was a mess and the only solution he seemed to form was this. He wanted to feel Sam's hands in his own, his lips against his, and hear Sam give him a cute nickname because Sam could call him anything and he wouldn't mind. Colby had planned everything out in his head, he only hopped Sam went along with the script. The kids around school no longer cared about Colby so he felt much like Sam, he was ignored and left alone. He wanted to be ignored and left alone while Sam was attached by his side. The moon and the sea.

School was coming to the end and Sam was nervous. He could tell Colby had been lost in thought all day making his anxieties even worse. Sam wanted nothing more than to blot home as soon as the last bell rang. Instead he slowly out every thing back into his back pack letting Colby leave first. They hadn't talked since that morning causing Sam to fear the worse. What if Colby finally realized he was worth nothing? He ditched and ignored Colby for a week just because he figured it would help his emotions, it didn't and only caused Colby more pain. Colby didn't deserve him as a friend and he sure as hell didn't deserve a friend like Colby, well Sam believed he never deserved to have a friend at all. Taking a calming breath Sam got up swinging his back pack on behind him. His heart pounded as his mind tried to calm him down with images of soft smiles, chest pillows, and entwined hands. It only made him feel worse. Out side the Kansas air kissed his cheeks turning them a soft pink as he made his way to the back of the school. Rounding the corner he saw Colby leaning against the brick wall as he chewed on his lip deep in concentration, "Now or never Golbach." Sam muttered as he made his way to the brunette.

Colby heard Sam's footsteps and panicked. He was afraid the courage he took a week to work up would disappear the second he looked up into those blue eyes he never seemed to forget. Would Sam listen to Colby and then run away for good? Colby's thoughts all seemed to be the same as the first just in different variations. God, it was nerve wrecking, "He Colby, what do you need to talk to me about?" Colby could hear the anxiousness in Sam's voice. He tried to swallow his own starting it just like his mother would, "Sam do you believe in soul mates?" The two boys at stared at their feet as Sam let out a soft laugh,

"My mother asked me that once. I don't really believe in them but the real question here is do you Sam?" Sam let his laughter die off as Colby asked again. Sam looked up, bringing his hand with him forcing Colby's head up, their eyes meeting, "Funny I talked about soul mates with my mother too once upon a time. To answer your question I do. I think, just like my mom does, that the world creates two people together and then breaks them apart and sets them into motion. The whole purpose of life is to live it to the fullest all the while looking for your other half. Some find them fast than others. But Colby what is the point of this? Did you really have us meet behind the school to discuss soul mates and whether they exist or not?" Colby shook his head quickly,

"No. Just hear me out Sam and promise you won't get upset with me." Sam nodded an okay along with a hand gesture cuing him to continue, "Sam, I didn't believe in soul mates my whole life, that was until I met you. It's too soon to say I love you, god way to soon but it doesn't feel right to say I like you either. From the moment you declared your hatred for me I just knew there was just something about you that intrigued me. I wanted to know everything about you and your blonde hair and blue eyes. I guess what I'm trying to say is I like you. A lot. The word I decided to use it adore. I adore you Sam. I don't know if you feel it but my heart skips a beat just at the mention of your name. So, will you do me the honors of going on a date with me?"

Silence filled the air between the two boys. Colby waited for a rejection as Sam stared open mouthed at the brunette, "C-Colby I-I..." Sam couldn't spit the words out. He felt the same way, hell he wanted nothing more than to scream yes because he thought the things he was feeling was insane but maybe they weren't. He fell but he didn't fall alone, no the two boys fell together way too fast and maybe that is okay because they were young, dumb, and adored one another.

"Y-yes. I can't promise you that anything can come from this Colby. I'm too unsure of my feelings for you but I want to try. Just one date." Colby's smile widened as Sam's heart pounded. The two looked at each other as each reached out a hand, their fingers easily intertwining.

The blonde and brunette adored each other, oh how they adored one another.
