Chapter 7~ Imaginary friends

22:49, 19 June 2016

I took the sonic from the Doctor's hands, pressed some buttons on it, then soniced the handcuffs and poof! They unlocked.

I then grabbed Amy's and his hand. «Run!» I yelled and I pulled them down the hallway. We ran out of the house, shutting the door behind.

The Doctor soniced it. Then spun around to face Amy. «Kissogram?» he asked.

«Yes, a kissogram. What's going on?» she snapped. I just rolled my eyes.

«Why'd you pretend to be a policewoman?» he asked.

«You broke into my house, it was either this or a French maid! What's going on? Tell me!»

I walked towards the TARDIS as I thought Amy was talking only to the Doctor. But then someone grapped my arm, spun me around pulling me back: I met Amy's eyes, her hand taking a strong grip on my arm «Tell me!»

I moved her hand from my arm cautiously. «An alien convict is hiding in your spare room disguised as a man and a dog, and some other aliens where about to incinerate your house. Any questions?» I answered quickly, then turning back to the TARDIS. The Doctor grinned at me, causing me to blush slightly.

«Yes!» Amy interrupted. I rolled my eyes again the pushed the TARDIS doors. But they didn't open.

«Em... Doc?» I called.

«What is it, Lizzie?»

«Oh, I give up!» I threw my hands in the air. The Doctor grinned even more. Then tried to open the TARDIS doors, failing.

«No, no, no, no! Don't do that right now! It's still rebuilding, so it's not letting us in!»

«Come on!» Amy begged.

«Wait, wait, wait! The shed!» The Doctor said running over it. I glanced at Amy and she did the same: fear in her eyes.

«Doctor!» I called and ran after him. «It got old. It's ten years old at least!» he sniffed it, licking his finger «Twelve years. We are not six months late, we're twelve years late!»

«He's coming.» Amy begged. I gave up and stood there watching the situation.

«You said six months. Why?»

«We have to go.»

«No, it's important! Why did you say six months?»

«Well, WHY DID YOU SAY FIVE MINUTES!»

«Enough.» I grabbed them by their sleeves. «Come on.» I told them and pulled them behind myself.

«What?» was the only thing he could say.

«Come on!» Amy and I snapped at the same time. He shut up.

We started running, soon reaching the town.

«You're Amelia.» the Doctor started again.

«Oh, clever Doctor, very clever.» I mumbled.

«You're late.» Amy instead shot.

«You're Amelia Pond! You're a little girl!»

«I'm Amelia, and you are late.»

«What happened?» I finally dared asking.

«Twelve years.» she answered. I felt ashamed again.

«You hit us with a cricket bat.» the Doctor said instead.

«Twelve years!» Amy replayed.

«A cricket bat!»

«Twelve years and four psychiatrists.»

«Why four? Did you keep biting them?» I asked, chuckling. Basically her story was my story: we both waited for our imaginary friend to come back and here he is, talking about a cricket bat!

I face palmed mentally.

«Yes.» she answered, blushing slightly. I silently chuckled.

«Why?» the Doctor inquired.

«Probably because they said we weren't real.» «They said you weren't real.» Amy and I said at the same time. The Doctor started at the both of us with a raised brow.

«PRISONER ZERO WILL VACATE THE HUMAN RESIDENCE, OR THE HUMAN RESIDENCE WILL BE INCINERATED!» the message came through an ice cream van speaker.

«No, no, no, what?» the Doctor said running to the trunk.

«We're being staked by an ice cream van.» I added, running behind him.

«What is that? Why are you playing that?» The Doctor asked the man in the van.

«It supposed to be "Clair de la Lune"» I heard the guy from the van speaking but I wasn't looking at him: the message was everywhere. Phones, TV's, radio's.

«Doctor, what's going on?» Amy asked. I ran over to the fence of a house, leaped over in and ran inside. The Doctor and Amy followed me.

«Hello, sorry to burst in. We're doing a survey on television faults in this area. Let's have a look.» I told an old woman. Then I walked to the TV: the eye we saw before was there and the message kept repeating.

«I was just about to phone. It's on every channel!» the old lady said. Meanwhile, the Doctor banged the remote against his hand. Pft, My hero.

«Hello Amy, are you a police woman now?» the lady asked Amy.

«Well, sometimes.» she answered.

«I thought you were a nurse.»

The Doctor and I glanced at each other at the same time, both trying hard not to laugh.

«I can be a nurse.»

«Or, actually a nun?»

«I dabble.»

«Amy, who are your friends?» she asked looking me.

«Who's Amy? You were Amelia.» the Doctor said while I took out the sonic out of the pocket in his jacket.

«Yeah, now I'm Amy.»

«Amelia Pond. That was a great name!»

I soniced the screen.

«A bit fairy tale.» she answered, making me turn around and look at her.

I shook in disagreement. «Shame.» I told her. Then spun back around, continuing doing my work. The Doctor smirked.

«I know you, don't I? Both of you. I've seen you somewhere before.»The lady said.

«Not me, brand new face.» The Doctor said, and opened his mouth wide causing me to let out a silent laugh.

«First time on. And what sort of a job's a kissogram?» The Doctor asked Amy.

«I go to parties and I kiss people. With outfits. It's a laugh.» Amy explained.

«You were a little girl five minutes ago.»

«You're worse than my aunt.»

«He's the Doctor. He's worse than everybody's aunt.» I told her, still not turning around.

«And that is not how I introduce myself.» he added. I looked at him over my shoulder and grinned at him. He grinned back. We seemed to do that a lot.

I scanned the radio, and the warning came through in different languages.

«It's everywhere in different languages.» the Doctor said at my place. Why do we finish each others phrases now?

~~~~
AN- I am SO sorry! I skipped the whole thing because I wrote this chapter a long while a ago and I didn't really want to write the hole thing. And again I AM SO SORRY! I will probably make another chapter of The Eleventh Hour later when I'll finish the book. I hope you still enjoyed it.
Me and the Doctor pushed through the doors, waking down the hallway of the hospital.
«Where are you going?» Amy asked.
«The roof.» the Doctor replayed.
«No, hang on.» I said and walked into the boys locker room (hoping no one was inside, I didn't want to see a naked old guy).
«What's in here?» Amy asked while I quickly started grabbing tourers and shirts. I grabbed suspenders and some ties too.
«Well, he's saving the world. Needs a decent shirt.» I replayed.
«To hell with the raggedy. Time to put on a show.» he added and I rolled my eyes as I passed him several shirts.
«Brilliant Lizzie!» he said, while I handed him all the clothes
«I kind of like if by now.» I shrugged with a grin, referring to the nickname.
«You just summoned aliens back to Earth. Actual aliens, deadly aliens, aliens of death, and now you're taking your clothes off. Amy, he's taking his clothes off.» Rory said. Talking about him, I think he's the only normal person in here.
«Turn your back if it embarrasses you.» he replied. I did as he said. I didn't want to ruin the image of my childhood hero.
Rory turned his back too «Are you stealing clothes now? Those clothes belong to people, you know.» he said.
Amy didn't turn her back though. «Are you not going to turn your back?» he asked her.
She folded her arms on her chest. «No.» she then answered.
I rolled my eyes, smirking.
The Doctor started changing in front of Amy and Rory who was making passive remarks on the Doctors way of doing. Again, I think he's the only normal person in here.
«Turn your back if it embarrasses you.» the Doctor said and I did so: I didn't want to ruin the image of my childhood hero.
Then we walked onto the roof. The Doctor had on a pink shirt and boots. He had also several jackets and ties. When the spaceship hovered over us Amy said «So this was a good idea, was it? They were leaving.»
«Leaving is good. Great actually.» I told her looking forward. «But, never coming back is preferable.»
«YOU ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD.» the eye said.
«No, but I put a lot of work into it.» The Doctor yelled back. The eye came down and scanned him, after that he scanned me. That was actually strange, because he didn't scan Rory or Amy.
«Hmm, what do you think?» The Doctor asked, turning around and showing me some ties.
«Red.» I said before being interrupted by the eye. «IS THIS WORLD IMPORTANT?»
The Doctor threw the other ties to Rory.
«Important? What does that even mean?» I inquired doing a step forward. «Six billion people leave here, is that important? Here's a better question, is this world a threat to Atraxi? Well, come on. You've been monitoring the entire planet. Is this world a threat?» I asked. I was still in shock I knew all those things. How could I? They literally came out my mouth by themselves.
Atraxi showed a projection of the world.
«NO.» it then answered.
«Well, if not that, are the inhabitants of this world guilty of any crime according to the Atraxi Laws?» the Doctor asked tying his tie.
«NO.»
«Okay. One more. Just one. Is this world protected? Because you're not the first lot to come here. Oh, there have been so many.» he said.
The projection showed the Daleks. A shiver ran down my spine as it did.
«And what you've got to ask is...»
«what happened to them?» I finished for him.
The projection started running through the Doctors. The 1st, the 2d, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th. It skipped the War Doctor though.
Suddenly an image of the 9th appeared. But it wasn't just him. There was also a girl standing next to him. Long blonde hair. I frowned. Who was she? I never saw her in my dreams...
I was so concentrated watching it that I didn't notice the Doctor glancing at me and smiling, as he adjusted his bow tie.
The 10th appeared, that girl still with him.
The Doctor suddenly grabbed my hand, intertwining his fingers with mine.
I looked up at him only to see his eyes pointed on me and smiling down.
I smiled too. He squeezed my hand. Then, we stepped through the projection
«Hello.» I said.
«I'm the Doctor.» he added «Basically...»
I smirked from the corner of my lips «Run.»
The eyeball zoomed back to its ship. Then left quickly. The Doctor and I watched it, standing hand in hand.
The ship then exited from the atmosphere.
I looked at the Doctor only to see him holding a glowing key in his hand.
He looked up at me just as I did. A wide grin making its way on our faces.
«Is that it?» Amy questioned «Is that them gone for good? Who were they?»
But we were already down the stairs and running out of the hospital, our hands entwined.
We jumped in the fire truck, the Doctor behind the wheel. I turned on the radio: Back in black, by AC/DC playing. I took to pairs of sunglasses which I found next to the radio and passed one pair to the Doctor.
He grinned taking them. We put them on at the same time, coolly and smoothly. Then he pressed the pedal and the ride towards Amy's house begun.
The two of us moved our head at the beating of the music and even sang. As we arrived we jumped down the trunk and ran to the TARDIS.
We stopped in front of the doors of the blue police box. The Doctor sighed. «Okay, what have you got for this time?» He then asked.
I this time grabbed his hand squeezing it. That made him grin and he pushed the the door open.
I looked at the new TARDIS in awe «Oh, look at you!» I exclaimed.
It changed: to reach the console now you had to get up the stairs. The round things weren't there anymore nor was the jump seat. Instead it had an armchair, and the hole place was brighter.
We stepped and, jumping up the stairs, approached the console. I fell on the new seat, letting out a groan of pleasure, closing my eyes and throwing my head backwards, the Doctor meanwhile pressing some buttons.
Eventually I raised my head and opened my eyes to look at him.
«Whatcha doin'?» I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
The TARDIS suddenly made the *Whoosh whoosh* noise, then stopped. The Doctor smirked at me.
«I owe my special girl something.» he said. He then jumped down over the stairs and ran to the doors.
I jumped on my feet too, ran down the stairs and to him. He looked at me trying to contain a grin. Then he opened the doors.
My mouth dropped as I stared in awe what was out side.
Stars and space.
I dreamed of them for years but in reality they were much more beautiful. The whole place was calm. Peaceful. Simply stunning.
With the corner of my eye, I noticed the Doctor smiling at my face. It wasn't one of his usual grins, it was something similar to a smile full of love and care.
«Doctor this is... Wow.» I breathed out.
He grinned «I know.»
I was amazed by the view, unable to speak anymore.
I slowly sat down, keeping my eyes fixed on the space and trying not to blink. I still was afraid it was all a dream. And that after blinking I would wake up and saw the so familiar ceiling again. The so familiar darkness around me, the so familiar loneliness my only company...
He joined me sitting down next. We looked out in silence. But I could hear something. A humming. Like I could hear the stars speaking to me.
The Doctor suddenly smirked, interrupting my thoughts. I glanced at him only to see he was looking at me the hole time. I tried hard not to blush.
«What?» I asked.
«You grew up.» he answered with a smile.
I glanced around, confused «Is that... bad?»
«No, not at all. Actually good. Very good. You kept that spirit of yours and that's very good... It's just...» he looked down breaking our eye contact. «...I'm sorry for leaving you Elizabeth.»
I smiled. «It's not a problem. Really. I grew up knowing I will see you again and that gave me hope. You gave me hope, Doctor.» I said and he, perhaps, blushed slightly.
I then looked down on his neck and saw a red bow tie. My face lighted up and I looked back in his. He was looking forward, though.
I followed his eyes then getting enchanted by the view again. «You're a lucky man, Doctor. You see these things every day.» I told him.
He chuckled slightly «Yes. I am.» he said catching my look. I smiled and looked forward again.
«Perhaps...» he said after a moment of silence. I looked at him again. «...You could come with me.» he then said. I stared at him. Was that a joke? Or was it a dream? I swear, if it's my mind playing games with me again, I will kill someone.
He was still looking at me, waiting for me to answer.
«Re-really?» I asked in disbelief. He nodded. I lowered my gaze, sticking it to the floor. Then I exploded into a laugh. After that, I wrapped my hands around the Doctor's neck.
«Oh, Thank you. Thank you so much.» I said into his shoulder.
He laughed at that.
I know I was pathetic to him, but for me it was a dream coming true. Literally.
I still was hugging him: he smelled of infinity and magic like all those ago. An idea popped into my mind. I pulled away with a mischief grin.
«What?» he asked confused.
«I cannot travel with a stranger now, can I? So tell me: Who are you Doctor?» I said playfully. He laughed landing on his arms which were behind his back and looking into space.
«I'm a mad man.» he said, looking at me.
«Anybody remotely interesting is mad, in some way or another.» I answered smiling.
«I'm over one hundred years old.» he said, still smiling.
«Thant's interesting. Cool, actually cool. But then remember something: Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty. It's not the time that matters it's the person.» I said smiling.
The Doctor laughed looking up and then back at me.
«You know, you remind me someone.» he said.
«Oh, then, whoever it was, she was attractive and funny as I am.»
He laughed.
«More than that. She was fantastic.» he said, smiling while looking at me. But I could tell his mind was somewhere else.
«Doctor?» I called, after some awkward seconds of silence.
He unfazed. «Well then!» he clapped his hands, jumped up and handed me his hand. I looked up at him.
«Lets go get Amy and then we can officially let our adventure begin!» he said with a smile.
I smiled too and took his hand. He then pulled me up and then ran to the console while I closed the doors. He pulled the lever and screamed on the top of his lungs «GERONIMO!»
~~~

The Doctor pov:

I stepped out in the dark of the night to find Amy standing there in her pj, just like years ago.

«Sorry about running off earlier. Brand new Tardis. Bit exciting. Just had a quick hop to the moon and back to run her in. She's ready for the big stuff now.» I said, putting my hands in my pockets.

«It's you. You came back.» Amy smiled.

«Of course we did. We always come back. Something wrong with that?»

«And you kept the clothes.»

«Well, we just saved the world. The whole planet, for about the millionth time, no charge. Yeah, shoot me. I kept the clothes, Lizzie kept the sun glasses.»

«Including the bow tie?»

«It's cool, Bow ties are cool.» I said remembering that Lizzie told me the same thing when she showed me her drawings. "Guess who's quoting my phrases" she would say if she would be here.

She preferred staying inside and wondering in the TARDIS.

«Are you from another planet?» Amy asked.

«Yeah.» I nodded.

«Okay.» she said. «What about Lizzie?» she then asked. I opened my mouth and was about to answer when the TARDIS door opened and Lizzie stepped out. She now changed into a beautiful floral dress and her hair was loose. She looked beautiful. Stunning. As she always was.

«So what do you think?» she asked, grinning at Amy, who eyed her too.

«Of what?» Amy then questioned.

«Other planets. Want to check some out?» I asked, forcing myself to look away from Lizzie.

«What does that mean?» Amy asked.

«It means. Well, it means come with him.» Lizzie said.

«Us.» I corrected, then glancing at her. She smiled, then looked back at Amy.

«Us.» she said, smirking.

«Where?» Amy asked, interrupting me from staring at the beautiful girl at my right.

«Wherever. you. like.» Lizzie and I said at the same time, grinning like madman.

«All that stuff that happened. The hospital, the spaceships, Prisoner Zero.» Amy said.

«Oh, don't worry, that's just the beginning.» Lizzie said.

«There's loads more.» I added.

«Yeah, but those things, those amazing things, all that stuff.» Lizzie and I nodded. «That was two years ago.»

Lizzie and I stared at Amy. «Oh...» the both of us laughed nervously. «Oops.»

Amy glared at us «Yeah.»

«So that's...» Lizzie counted.

«Fourteen years!» Amy exclaimed.

«Fourteen years since fish custard. Amy Pond, the girl who waited, you've waited long enough.» I said.

«When I was a kid, you said there was a swimming pool and a library, and the swimming pool was in the library.» Amy said.

«Yeah.» Lizzie agreed. I nodded.

«Not sure where it's got to now. It'll turn up. So, coming?» I asked.

«No.» she said. I frowned. Still bossy, is she?

«You wanted to come fourteen years ago.»

«I grew up.» Amy told us.

«Don't worry. I'll soon fix that. Both of you.» I said, looking at Lizzie who chuckled.

She then opened the door of the TARDIS and we walked in, my hand automatically intertwining with hers. Amy followed by.

«Well? Anything you want to say? Any passing remarks? I've heard them all.» I said.

«I'm in my nightie.» Amy said making Lizzie chuckle.

«Oh, don't worry. Plenty of clothes in the wardrobe. And possibly a swimming pool.» I told her.

«So,» Lizzie said jumping up and sitting on the console while I paced around it «all of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will. Where do you want to start?»

«You are so sure that I'm coming.» Amy said.

«Yeah, we are.» I said.

«Why?»

«Cause you're the Scottish girl in the English village, and I know how that feels.» Lizzie said. I gulped guiltily.

«Oh, do you?» Amy asked her.

«Oh, believe me, I do. All these years living here, most of your life, and you've still got that accent. Yeah, you're coming.» Lizzie replied, causing me to grin.

«Can you get me back for tomorrow morning?» Amy asked us.

«It's a time machine. I can get you back five minutes ago.» I said.

«Why, what's tomorrow?» Lizzie asked.

«Nothing. Nothing. Just you know, stuff.» Amy said.

I, of course, wasn't convinced and knew she was hiding something, but I decided to let it go. «All right, then. Back in time for stuff.» I happily said. Just like the old times.

Suddenly a new sonic raised from a slot in the console.

I walked to it. «Oh! A new one! Lovely.»

«Thanks, dear.» Lizzie said and the TARDIS groaned slightly. That made me smile even more. Which wasn't a strange thing, that girl made me smile every time.

I started typing on the typewriter wired into the console.

«Why me?» Amy suddenly asked.

«Why not?» I asked back.

«No, seriously. You are asking me to run away with you in the middle of the night. It's a fair question. Why me?» she asked again.

I shrugged «I don't know.»

«Fun.» Lizzie resonated, shrugging a shoulder.

«Do I have to have a reason?» I asked after that.

«People always have a reason.» Amy said.

«Do I look like people?» I asked her and I could sense Lizzie's face lighting up. That made my hearts flutter.

«Yes.» Amy nodded.

«Well, he's been knocking around on his own for a while.» Lizzie told her.

«Yeah. My choice, of course, but I've started talking to myself all the time. It gives me earache.»

Lizzie chuckled, earning a look from me.

«You're lonely. That's it? Just that?» Amy asked, suspiciously.

«Just that. Promise.» I said.

«Okay.» she nodded.

«So, are you okay, then? Because this place, sometimes it can make people feel a bit, you know.» I then asked.

«I'm fine. It's just, there's a whole world in here, just like you said. It's all true. I thought. Well, I started to think that maybe you two were just like a mad couple with a box.» She said. Lizzie jumped down the console triumphal.

«Amy Pond, there's something you'd better understand about us, because it's important, and one day your life may depend on it.» she said. Amy stared at her, while my grin was growing that big that my face muscles started aching.

«We are definitely a mad couple with a box.» she said. A grin speared across Amy's face.

I stood by Lizzie's side «Ha ha! Yeah. Goodbye Leadworth, hello...» I pulled the lever and Lizzie and I looked up.

«Everything.» she finished for me.
