🖤 STRAY KIDS FANFICTION: The Witness (12)🌫️🤰🧠
07:02, 11 April 2025Location: Med-Bunker, Final Day – Hour 66
You woke up without opening your eyes.
Weird, right?
You could feel the machines around you.The soft hum of electricity. The people standing at the door, whispering like your ears didn't work anymore.
You felt...
Them.
Even the baby. Especially the baby. Its pulse was like a drum in your chest.Beating harder than yours.
Chan sat beside you, staring. His face was pale. His jaw locked. He hadn't spoken in an hour.
"She's not the same," Jeongin whispered to Hyunjin behind the glass."That thing growing in her is rewriting her brain."
"It's not a thing," Chan snapped suddenly, not even looking at them."It's ours."
You finally spoke, voice soft but eerie:
"You're all too loud..."
They froze.
You sat up slowly, eyes half-closed. Something about the way you moved was... inhuman. Graceful, sharp, controlled. Like your bones remembered something ancient.
Chan knelt beside you.
"Y/N... it's me. I'm here, baby."
You looked at him—then tilted your head.
"You're scared."
He blinked.
"No. I'm not."
"Yes, you are.""You think I'm becoming something you can't save."
Your words didn't sound like you. They sounded like... a we.
"Y/N..." he whispered."What's happening to you?"
You took his hand. Placed it on your stomach again.
"It's not just a baby anymore.""It's inside my thoughts. Sometimes I feel like... it's me thinking. But other times...""It's like I'm thinking for it."
Your fingers trembled.
"It's scared, Chan. It doesn't understand the world. Or pain. Or death. It only knows me."
Hour 68
You collapsed.
Out of nowhere. Blood gushed from your nose.Your legs gave out. The baby's pulse spiked on the monitor—freaking out.
Chan caught you in his arms, screaming your name.
"Y/N?!"
Your hands clawed at his chest.
"*It's panicking—*I can't calm it down—"
Monitors shrieked. Lights flashed.
Then—BOOM.
A wave of pressure exploded outward from your body.
Glass cracked.
Metal bent.
Everyone hit the floor.
Chan never let go.
Even when your body lifted off the damn table.
Eyes glowing golden.
Hair floating like static.Your voice came out layered. Yours and... something else.
"Protect me or lose everything."
Chan gritted his teeth, staring up at you, heart thundering.
"Then take my life if you have to."
Your body dropped instantly into his arms.
Back to normal.
Or... as normal as you could be now.
Hour 70
You were stable.
Barely.
Wrapped in heated blankets, machines unplugged.Everyone watching from a distance now—afraid to get close.
Except Chan.
He stayed, curled up beside you in the bed, holding you against his chest.
You were awake. Quiet. Tired.
"You still love me?" you asked, voice hoarse.
Chan kissed your temple.
"I love you even if you stop being you."
"That's the thing," you whispered."I don't think I'm just me anymore."
Time: Hour 72 – Countdown Ends
The alarms started screaming first.
Blinding red lights flashed through the med-bunker.
"We're under attack—internal breach!" Han shouted from the comms room. "One of ours just disabled the lockdown protocol—someone betrayed us!"
Bang Chan didn't move from your side.
You were on the ground, curled in agony, shaking violently.
"It hurts—Chan—*it's coming—*I can't stop it—!!"
Blood soaked the floor.
Your skin burned. Veins popped like vines beneath your flesh.
"We need to deliver NOW," Minho barked, throwing open the med kit. "Her body's breaking down."
"She won't survive a normal birth," Seungmin said, grim.
"Then we don't do this normally," Chan growled.
The door slammed open—Felix dragging a limp body behind him.
"Jeongin was the mole. Knocked him out before he could finish the override. But Y/N—she's glowing again—I think the kid's coming through with power."
"CLEAR THE ROOM," Chan roared. "Everyone out. Now. I'm doing this myself."
"Chan—" Hyunjin hesitated. "You're not trained—"
"She doesn't need a doctor. She needs me."
Delivery Room: 11:03pm
Your screams echoed through the concrete halls.
Your body arched, back bending unnaturally as waves of energy pulsed from you in bursts. Lights shattered overhead.
Chan knelt between your legs, hands bloody, eyes wide with panic—but filled with devotion.
"Y/N—breathe for me, baby. Just breathe—stay with me—you're so close—"
"It's killing me, Chan—it's tearing me apart—!"
"NO—I won't let it! You hear me?! I'll die before I let this thing take you!!"
And then—
BOOM.
A massive shockwave knocked everything backward.
Time froze.
And in the center of the room, your body slumped forward.
Your hands, weak. Empty.
For a moment—silence.
Until...
A cry. But not just a cry.
A scream that shook the entire bunker.
The baby had arrived.
And it was alive in a way no one had ever seen.
Golden eyes. No umbilical cord. No blood. It floated for a second—literally lifted into the air, eyes glowing like suns—before collapsing into Chan's arms.
He stared at it.
Then at you.
"Y/N?"
You didn't answer.
You weren't breathing.
"No. *No—*stay with me. Please—baby, please wake up—"
He held your face, pressed his forehead to yours, rocking your lifeless body in his arms.
The baby... reached up.
And touched your heart.
A burst of white light exploded from the contact.
Your body jerked violently—eyes wide, breath gasping back into your lungs.
"CHAN—!"
"Y/N!!" he cried, grabbing you, clutching you like he'd never let go again.
You were alive.
Barely. But alive.
And in his arms—was your child.
Warm. Breathing. Watching you both like it understood everything.
An hour later.
You lay in a bed, trembling, child against your chest.
Chan was on the floor beside you, blood still on his hands, eyes tired.
"It's over," he whispered. "You did it."
You looked down at the tiny thing in your arms.
"No," you said softly. "It's just beginning."
Location: SKZ Bunker, 3:13am – Post Birth
You hadn't moved in over an hour.
Tiny body curled in bloodstained sheets, baby cradled to your chest. Your eyes were glassy. Blank. Not quite here, not quite gone.
"Her brain's still syncing with the residual power," Seungmin muttered, scanning the vitals. "That... thing inside her altered her neural pathways."
"She's not just the mother," Hyunjin added darkly, watching from the corner. "She's the key."
Chan hadn't left your side.
He sat on the edge of the bed like a statue—shirtless, hands covered in your blood and the baby's glow.
The child? Didn't cry. Didn't sleep. It just... watched.
Eyes like golden fire. Unblinking. Breathing in sync with you.
Chan reached down, brushing your sweat-drenched hair back gently.
"Y/N..." he whispered. "Come back to me. Please."
No response.
The baby blinked.
And then—you spoke.
But it wasn't you.
"You can't protect us from what's coming, Christopher." "But thank you for trying."
Your voice sounded like a chorus.
A thousand layered whispers inside one broken body.
Chan's eyes filled with pain.
"Don't call me that," he muttered, gripping your hand. "You're not her. She's still in there."
Outside the bunker — Meanwhile...
Governments. Corporations. Secret black ops units. Everyone who'd ever wanted to control life itself—now had a single target:
Y/N and her child.
Intel leaked. A photo. A pulse signature from the energy waves.
"We found Patient Zero," the agent said coldly. "She lives. And the baby... is not human."
"Eliminate the father," came the reply. "Extract the mother. Secure the child."
Back in the bunker
Your eyes finally fluttered open.
You were here again. Just... barely.
"Chan?" you whispered.
He practically collapsed into your touch, forehead to yours, tears on his cheeks.
"God, I thought I lost you."
You didn't answer for a while.
Then you looked down.
At the baby.
At the unnatural calm it radiated.
And whispered:
"What did I bring into this world...?"
Chan didn't respond.
He was scared too.
Because he didn't know the answer.
Later — Observation Room
You sat up slowly, holding the baby, as Chan paced beside you.
Your body ached. Your soul felt frayed.
"I can feel it," you murmured. "The power. It didn't leave me. It... copied itself."
"It's not hurting you anymore," Chan said quickly. "We're gonna keep it that way."
But you shook your head.
"You don't get it. It doesn't want to hurt me." "It wants to change me."
You looked at him, tears brimming.
"I'm scared I'm becoming the thing they're trying to kill."
Chan moved toward you, slowly, then dropped to his knees in front of you.
"Even if you do—" he said, voice rough, hands trembling as they cupped your waist— "I'll follow you into that hell. Even if you become something dark. I'll burn the whole world down before I let them take you."
His lips brushed yours.
Soft. Intense. Possessive.
And you kissed him back. Harder.
Desperate.
Like you were drowning in him.
Because you were.
The baby stirred.
And suddenly—every light in the room went out.
The entire base fell silent.
No electricity. No noise. Just... darkness.
Then—sirens.
Chan pulled you close, shielding your body as red lights blinked back on.
Seungmin's voice blasted through the speaker:
"We've been breached."
