🖤 STRAY KIDS FANFICTION: The Witness (9)🤰🛌
06:53, 11 April 2025The safehouse was quiet.
Too quiet.
Outside, snow fell like ash from the sky. Inside, the lights were low, monitors beeping softly beside your bed.
You stirred.
The dull ache in your body reminded you that you were alive. And so was the baby. You laid a hand on your belly, eyes glassy with fragile relief.
"Still with me, little bean?" you whispered.
A shadow moved beside you.
"Still with me, mama?"
You turned slowly— Bang Chan.
Sitting beside your bed, hoodie pulled up, elbows on his knees. He looked like he hadn't slept in days.
You smiled weakly.
"You stayed."
He leaned forward, brushing your hair off your cheek.
"You think I'd let you go through any of this alone?"
His voice was low, but laced with an emotion you couldn't place. Not quite fear. Not quite anger.
Something worse.
"I failed you. That night, in the warehouse. I should've never let them take you."
You reached for his hand.
"You saved me. You saved both of us."
He kissed your knuckles.
But something dark swirled behind his eyes.
"Y/N... there's more."
You blinked.
"More?"
He exhaled slowly, like it hurt to say.
"The blood loss... it wasn't natural."
Your chest tightened.
"What are you saying?"
Chan looked down.
"The meds they gave you before we broke you out? They weren't just to sedate you."
"Someone tried to induce a miscarriage."
Silence. The words hit like knives in your chest.
Your lips trembled.
"But... why? Why would they—?"
"Because this baby is mine." "And taking it from you would've been the fastest way to destroy me."
You swallowed hard, tears rising.
"They wanted me to break."
Chan nodded. Face hard. Jaw clenched.
"But they failed." "You didn't break. Neither did our baby."
Then his hand slid over your stomach again.
"This child is going to grow up knowing they were born from war. From fire. But also from love."
"My love. For you."
And just like that— he leaned in and kissed you.
Not rushed. Not rough. But slow. Deep. Possessive.
The kind of kiss that said:
"You are mine." "This life inside you? Ours." "And I will protect it until my last breath."
Meanwhile...
Far across the city, in a hidden lab—
A man in a white coat clicked a pen and stared at a blinking monitor.
"Subject Y/N survived... again."
Another figure stepped out of the shadows.
A voice cold enough to freeze blood.
"Then it's time we bring her back."
It had been three days.
Three days since you almost lost the baby. Three days since Chan hadn't left your side— not to sleep, not to eat, not even to breathe without watching you.
You'd woken up with a jolt that morning, drenched in sweat. Your hand flew to your stomach—still there. Still safe. But your heart?
Something was wrong.
Your body felt... heavier. Your skin hot. Your senses—too sharp. You could hear everything. Every creak in the wood, every breath from Chan as he paced.
"You okay?" he asked, rushing to your side the second you shifted.
You hesitated.
"I think... I feel different."
Chan crouched beside you instantly, one hand on your belly, the other cupping your cheek.
"Different how?"
You swallowed hard.
"I feel... strong. But not normal strong. Like... like I could run a marathon or fight someone barehanded."
His brows furrowed.
"That doesn't sound like post-trauma fatigue. It sounds like—"
He didn't finish. He stood. Walked straight to the desk. Pulled out your lab results. The ones from the government facility.
"They ran bloodwork on you. Multiple times. They were looking for something."
"What?" you asked softly.
Chan's eyes scanned the data, faster and faster.
Then he froze.
"Y/N..."
"They didn't just test your blood. They altered it."
You blinked.
"What...?"
He turned, jaw tight, fear creeping into his features.
"They injected something into your system. A synthetic hormone compound—designed to amplify DNA regeneration."
"It's not just you reacting to it... it's the baby."
"The fetus isn't just developing fast—it's evolving."
CRASH.
A sound shattered the moment—glass breaking downstairs. Alarms blared. The safehouse lockdown triggered.
"They found us," Chan growled.
"Felix! Get her to the basement vault—NOW!"
You tried to stand—felt light-headed—but Felix grabbed you gently, helping you toward the hallway.
"Chan—!" you called out.
He turned. His voice was low, fierce, like fire under his tongue.
"No matter what happens, Y/N... don't let them touch you again."
"Don't let them near my child."
In the lab room below...
You sat in a chair, breath shaky, a handheld monitor pressed to your belly.
The screen blinked, showing a pulse.
170 BPM.
Too high.
Felix watched quietly, his face grim.
"Chan was right."
You turned to him.
"Right about what?"
He hesitated.
"This isn't a normal pregnancy anymore."
"Whatever they did to you... this baby? They engineered something. Something they wanted. Something they couldn't create on their own."
"And now you're the vessel."
You felt like your world collapsed.
But before you could process, the power flickered.
And the vault door started to unlock.
Above...
Bang Chan was already fighting like a possessed king. Blood on his fists. Enemies on the floor. He fought like he didn't care if he made it out alive—
—as long as you did.
And as he struck down the last man, he hissed under his breath:
"Come for her again... and I'll bury your legacy under my child's name."
The vault doors slammed shut just in time.
Felix locked it from the inside, panting. You sat curled on the floor, arms wrapped around your knees, the monitor clutched to your chest. Your heart raced, but not from the baby anymore. From the voice you'd just heard through the intercom.
A voice you knew. One you hadn't heard in years. One you thought was dead.
"Hello, Y/N. Long time no see."
Your blood ran cold.
"No. No. You're dead. You—You died. I saw you die."
Felix turned sharply.
"Who is it? Who's speaking?"
Your lips trembled.
"My brother."
Upstairs...
Chan was covered in bruises and blood, hands curled into fists as the last attacker fell. But then he froze.
A static-filled voice echoed through the safehouse speakers.
"Bang Chan. I assume you've figured out that the child is... different."
Chan's eyes narrowed.
"Who the hell are you?"
The voice chuckled.
"Not who. What. I'm the architect of this bloodline. Of the mutation. Of the evolution."
"And you? You're just the donor."
Chan's rage snapped.
"You don't speak about my family like that."
"Oh, but I will," the voice hissed. "Because Y/N's blood carries my signature too."
Back in the vault...
You pressed your back to the wall, trying to process it. Your brother had been a biotech engineer—brilliant. Unhinged. He disappeared five years ago after being declared dead in a lab explosion.
But the truth? He had faked it. Gone underground. And now—he'd found you.
"You... used me," you whispered.
His voice was smooth, too calm.
"Not used. Chosen. You were always meant to carry the next stage of human potential. That baby inside you? It's perfection."
"I don't care what you think it is," you snapped, your voice cracking. "It's mine. It's ours."
The speaker buzzed with static.
"Then come back to me, sister. Before your precious Chan realizes what you truly are."
The door creaked open.
Chan rushed inside.
His eyes found you instantly—pale, shaking, clutching your stomach.
"Baby—what happened? Are you hurt? Talk to me."
You tried to speak, but your voice failed. So you just collapsed into him, fists gripping his shirt like lifelines.
"He's alive," you sobbed. "My brother—he's the one who did this. To me. To our baby."
Chan's face changed.
Not anger.
Not rage.
Vengeance.
"I will kill him," he whispered. "With my bare hands. Slowly."
He cupped your face.
"But first—we get you safe. We figure out exactly what's happening to your body. And then we end this. Together."
He pressed a kiss to your lips. Desperate. Grounding.
But when he pulled back, you saw it—
Fear.
Not of your brother.
Of what you might become.
