🖤 STRAY KIDS FANFICTION: The Witness (6)🕯️💋
06:41, 11 April 2025The door slammed behind you, and silence hit like a wave. No sirens. No shouting. No guns.
Just you... and him.
Breathing like you ran through war. Because you did.
Chan leaned against the door, head back, chest rising and falling.
You stood there, frozen. Staring at him. Your hands still trembling. Clothes ripped. Blood smudged on your neck. A gash on your cheek.
"You're hurt," he said, voice hoarse.
You didn't answer.
You just walked across the room... Dropped the bag... And slowly crawled into his lap, straddling him on the floor.
His arms wrapped around you instantly. Not lustfully. Just hungrily.
Like if he let go, you'd vanish.
"I thought I'd never see you again," he murmured into your shoulder.
Your fingers tangled in his hair.
"You really thought I'd let them keep you?"
His chest shuddered.
And then— You pulled back just enough to look him in the eye.
"You don't get it, do you?" "I don't care who you are. Or what you've done. You're mine."
Chan's jaw clenched. His hands gripped your thighs, and his voice dropped to a low growl.
"Say it again."
You leaned in. Kissed his jaw. His cheek. His lips—just barely.
"You're mine."
He stood, carrying you with ease—like you weighed nothing.
Took three steps to the mattress on the floor.
Laid you down. Took off his bloodied jacket. Then peeled off yours. Slow. Careful.
"I need to see you," he whispered. "Not just look. See."
You touched his face, fingers trembling.
"Then look. I'm right here."
The room smelled like candle wax and smoke. Your pulse beat against his lips as he kissed down your throat.
Not rushed. Not wild.
Just achingly slow. Like he needed to memorize every piece of you. Because maybe tomorrow, you'd be gone. Or dead. Or in cuffs again.
And he wasn't gonna waste a second.
"Y/N..." he said softly, lips ghosting over your collarbone. "If they come back for me... I won't fight."
Your heart stopped.
"What?"
"I'll go. But promise me one thing."
You pulled his face up. Looked into those stormy eyes that had wrecked your life and rebuilt it all at once.
"Promise me you'll live. Even if I don't."
Your nose brushed his.
"Only if you promise to haunt me."
He smiled.
"Deal."
And then— He kissed you.
Like he had nowhere to be. Like the world could wait. Like nothing had ever felt real until that moment.
Two days passed in the safehouse.
The world thought you were missing. They thought Chan had killed you. But no one knew the truth:
You were wrapped in his hoodie, sleeping on his chest, while he ran his fingers down your spine like a prayer.
You had fallen into this... unnatural peace. But the kind that feels borrowed.
Like the eye of the storm.
Until...
BANG. BANG. BANG. A knock on the safehouse door.
Felix: "Code word?" Voice through the door: "Rabbit's breathin'."
Door creaked open—and Seungmin came in, face grim.
"They've got a hit out on Y/N," he said flatly.
Chan sat up instantly, arm slung across your waist like a reflex.
"What?"
Seungmin dropped a file on the mattress.
Your name. Your face. A bounty worth millions.
"They're not trying to catch you, hyung. They're using her to drag you in. She's not bait anymore. She's target number one."
Your breath caught in your throat.
Chan stood slowly.
"No. No, they wouldn't—"
"They already did," Minho said from the shadows. "They've staged it. A fake confession. Photos. A whole story that she's been with you willingly—which means she's complicit."
Chan's eyes darkened like thunderclouds.
He turned to you, hands cupping your face. His voice cracked.
"They'll kill you just to get to me."
"Then let them come," you whispered. "I'm not leaving you."
Chan pulled you into his chest, so tight you could barely breathe. His heartbeat was shaking.
"You don't get it," he rasped. "If I lose you—I'll become the monster they think I am."
That night...
You couldn't sleep. Neither could he.
You laid on top of the blanket, staring at the ceiling, when he rolled over and whispered:
"Run with me."
You turned your head slowly.
"What?"
Chan's eyes were wild and shining in the moonlight.
"Let's disappear. You and me. New names. No past. No more hiding in shadows."
"You really think we can run from all this?"
He leaned in, lips barely brushing yours.
"I don't care if we can. I just care if you will."
And before you could answer, he kissed you again— Harder this time. Desperate. Like a man starving.
Your fingers tangled in his shirt. Your body pressed to his. And in that moment, the world didn't exist.
Only his lips. His hands. His promise.
"Tomorrow night," he said between kisses. "We leave."
"Okay," you whispered back. "But if we die... we die together."
12:47 AM. You were packing in silence.
A worn backpack. Only the essentials— Fake IDs, stolen cash, a hoodie that still smelled like Chan.
He stood by the door, jaw clenched, pistol strapped to his side. His eyes hadn't left you in twenty minutes.
"I'll go scope the alley," he said finally, voice tight. "Don't open that door for anyone but me."
You nodded.
"I won't."
And he kissed your forehead like it might be the last time.
Then he left.
Five minutes later...
BANG. The door exploded open.
You screamed. Fell backwards. A figure rushed in—masked, fast, grabbing you before you could run.
"You should've stayed quiet, Y/N."
The voice. You knew that voice.
Han.
Your heart cracked.
"W-What are you doing?"
He looked... regretful. But not enough.
"It's not personal. They doubled the bounty. We needed the money. I voted no. But the others... Minho said you'd understand."
You screamed as he pulled out cuffs.
"NO—! CHAN!!"
Outside, Chan heard you. He turned. Saw Han dragging you out the back entrance.
"Y/N?!"
And something inside him snapped.
0 to feral. Gun drawn. Eyes wild.
Bang Chan charged, took out a man in black with a shot to the leg— Grabbed Han by the collar— Slammed him against the wall so hard it cracked the concrete.
"YOU. TOUCHED. HER."
Han:
"She was gonna die anyway—!"
BOOM. A shot rang out—Chan fired a bullet right next to his head.
"Next one's in your spine. And you know I don't miss."
He looked back at you.
You were on the ground, bleeding at the lip, sobbing, arms over your head.
And that was it. That was the end of his mercy.
Chan dropped Han. Ran to you. Pulled you into his arms.
"I got you. I got you, baby. I'm here."
You clung to him like a lifeline.
"You said they were your family," you whispered, trembling. "You trusted them."
He kissed your forehead, voice breaking.
"You're the only family I have left."
Later, in the stolen van, wrapped in a blanket, still shaking...
You whispered:
"You're gonna kill them for this, aren't you?"
Chan didn't answer.
He just looked at you—his face blank. Eyes dead.
"If they try again... I'll erase them from this world."
Then his hand touched your cheek—so gently it hurt.
"No one touches what's mine."
And then— He kissed you again. Not desperate. Not rough.
Just soft.
Like an apology. Like a vow. Like a funeral.
