🖤 STRAY KIDS FANFICTION: The Witness (4) 🔥💋🔪

06:46, 8 April 2025

The snow was louder than usual. Everything outside the cabin looked like silence—peaceful, untouched.

But inside? It was chaos dressed in candlelight.

You lay tangled in the sheets, Chan's hand splayed over your stomach, holding you like a claim. His breath was warm on your neck. His heartbeat slow... almost too slow.

But you were wide awake.

Because something in the air had changed.

And when he stirred beside you, like he sensed it too, you knew.

"Someone's coming," he whispered, voice sharp now, all softness erased. "I knew they'd try."

You sat up, panic creeping in. "Who?"

Chan was already getting dressed. Black shirt. Tactical boots. His eyes cold again. "Someone from your world. Cops, friends, maybe even that idiot surgeon friend of yours who couldn't let you go."

Your heart pounded. "What are you going to do?"

He turned to you slowly.

"Whatever I have to."

Meanwhile...

Hyunjin's voice crackled through Chan's phone.

"We intercepted a signal. Someone pinged her location. Satellite-level. They're close."

Chan's eyes darkened like a storm collapsing.

"How close?"

"Ten miles. Max."

"Prep the perimeter," Chan growled. "No one gets in. If they touch her, I'll make it biblical."

You stood near the window, still in his shirt, fingers trembling.

You should've been happy. Someone was coming for you. Someone remembered you existed.

But the thought of leaving... Of walking out that door without him?

It hurt.

"You don't have to stay," Chan said from behind you, voice unreadable now. "If you want to leave... I won't stop you this time."

You turned, stunned.

"What?"

"I said, go." His jaw flexed. "I want to know if you're still here because of me... or just because I locked the doors."

Your lips parted, heart pounding so loud it echoed in your chest.

"I don't want to go," you whispered.

He stared at you, almost angrily. "Why not?"

"Because out there, I'm just another girl. Another doctor. Another ghost in the system. But in here..." Your throat tightened.

"In here, I matter to you."

Silence.

He moved closer, every step heavy with emotion he didn't know how to handle.

"You think this is love?" he said. "This obsession? This darkness?"

You nodded. "If it is... then I want it."

"Even if it destroys you?"

"Especially then."

And something in him shattered.

He kissed you again—not to silence you. Not to claim. But because he was terrified of letting go.

"If you stay," he whispered into your mouth, "you'll never leave again."

You swallowed, breath caught. "Then chain me to this madness."

He pressed his forehead to yours, eyes shut tight like your presence physically hurt.

"I would burn this world for you," he whispered. "Do you understand that?"

"I do."

And then?

Gunfire.

BANG—BANG—BANG.

The sound of gunfire shattered the silence like glass under steel-toed boots.

You screamed.

Not because you were scared. But because he was out there.

Chan had shoved you into the hidden crawl space beneath the cabin's floor—your safehouse inside a safehouse—and kissed your forehead like it was the last time.

"Stay quiet. No matter what you hear. Do. Not. Move."

He'd locked eyes with you, and for the first time since you met him, he looked afraid.

"Chan—"

"No. Not now, Y/N. You're not dying today."

And then the trapdoor slammed shut.

You could hear it all. Hyunjin barking orders. Seungmin's sharp sniper fire from the treetops. Felix's low, growled curses in between blows. The metallic clang of Lee Know's blades slicing through the dark.

But Chan?

He was silent.

Which was worse than the noise.

Because when Bang Chan got quiet...

It meant someone was going to die.

Outside the cabin—

The air was thick with smoke and frost. Four men in black gear moved through the trees like ghosts. They weren't here to rescue. They were here to erase.

And Bang Chan was done playing nice.

He stepped out from the shadows, soaked in moonlight and blood, hair tousled, lips curled back in a snarl.

"You came for her," he spat. "Big mistake."

The first man didn't even get a shot off.

Chan moved like a monster. Precision. Fury. Fire.

He didn't fight like a soldier. He fought like a man with nothing to lose—like the woman inside that cabin was his whole goddamn reason to breathe.

And she was.

Back in the crawlspace—

You were crying now. Silent. Fists clenched in his shirt still wrapped around you.

Why did it hurt so bad? Why did the idea of losing him feel worse than losing yourself?

Then—BANG.

The floor rattled.

Heavy boots pounded above you.

A gunshot.

Then—

"Y/N!"

Your heart stopped.

It was him.

You burst out of the trapdoor just as Chan staggered into the cabin, blood dripping from his arm, one hand holding his side, chest heaving like a war drum.

"Chan!" you screamed, rushing to him.

He fell to his knees. You caught him. Your arms wrapped around his broken body, holding him like he might vanish.

"I told you to stay hidden," he rasped, blood on his lips but eyes wild with relief.

"I thought I lost you," you cried, cupping his face. "You came back—"

"I always will," he breathed, grabbing your wrists. "No matter what."

"You're mine, Y/N. And I'll kill the whole damn world if they try to take you from me."

You sobbed, forehead pressed to his. "Then don't let me go."

He didn't.

Instead, he kissed you like he was dying. Like your mouth was the only heaven he'd ever taste.

It was desperate. Bloody. Perfect.

Your hands gripped him tighter, pulling him down onto the cabin floor, tangled together in the aftermath of violence and devotion and madness.

And when he finally whispered, "Tell me you love me..."

You didn't hesitate.

"I love you."

"Louder."

"I. Love. You."

He groaned, crushing you to him.

"Then you're never leaving me again."

Morning came, but the world didn't feel new. It felt raw.

The floor beneath you was cold. Chan's head rested in your lap, eyes closed, breaths shallow.

You hadn't moved since last night.

Every inch of you ached—emotionally, physically, morally. But your fingers never stopped running through his hair.

Not when the bleeding slowed. Not when the others patched him up. Not even when they suggested moving again.

"He needs rest," you said, quiet but firm. "We're not going anywhere."

And no one questioned you.

Because they'd seen it now. How he looked at you. How you kissed his bloodied mouth like it was holy. How you whispered, "You're safe now," like you were the protector, not him.

The doctor had fallen for the devil.

And the devil?

He was terrified of heaven ever leaving his side.

Later, when it was just the two of you again, he finally stirred.

Eyes cracked open, glazed with pain. Then softened when they landed on you.

"Still here?" he rasped, voice wrecked.

You smiled, brushing your thumb over his cheek. "I told you. I'm yours."

He exhaled slowly. Like that truth was too heavy to carry, but he didn't want to let go.

"I'm scared, Y/N."

You blinked. Bang Chan. Scared?

"I've done horrible things," he whispered. "And you still... stay. What if one day you remember who I really am?"

You leaned in, lips ghosting over his. "Then I'll kiss you harder, so you forget."

MEANWHILE...

The news was everywhere. "Surgeon Missing for Two Weeks Found in Abandoned Cabin—Bloodshed at the Scene."

Photos of you. Of the cabin. Of bullet holes and stained floors. Your name, dragged through headlines like a scandal.

"She's brainwashed." "She was held against her will." "Bang Chan is dangerous."

None of them knew.

They didn't know how he looked at you like the sky had only ever been worth seeing because you existed. They didn't know you'd kissed him first. They didn't know how you'd begged him not to let go.

Days passed.

Chan was recovering. Fast.

But his grip on you? Still like you'd vanish the second he blinked.

One night, you caught him watching you—again.

"What?" you asked.

He didn't answer. Just walked over, jaw tight, heart screaming from his chest.

"You know what scares me more than losing you?" he said, cornering you against the wall, his voice trembling.

"Waking up and realizing you were just surviving me. Not loving me."

You swallowed, hands flat on his chest. "Chan..."

"No, listen." He leaned down, forehead pressed to yours, voice desperate now. "If there's a single part of you that wants out—say it now. I'll take you home. I'll disappear. I'll let you forget me."

You stared at him, heart ripping open.

And then?

You kissed him so hard you made him stumble back.

"I'm not surviving you," you said, breathless, lips swollen. "I'm falling. Every. Day."

His eyes burned. "You shouldn't."

"Don't care."

"Y/N—"

"I'd rather drown in this than breathe without you."

And that's when his control snapped.

He kissed you like he was making up for every word he didn't say. Pushed you against the wall, hands all over, lips tasting everything like it belonged to him.

And it did.

"I want to ruin you," he whispered. "In the most sacred way."

You smiled, tugging him closer.

"Then start now."
