Just A Drop

08:19, 24 March 2015

Luke tilted the vial and let a drop of the silver touch his tongue before it was knocked away. "Don't!" Michael yelled and let the vial shatter to the ground. Before Luke could ask why, he felt the burning on his tongue and he cried out. Michael's gazd fell upon Calum and he growled lowly at the dark haired angel. "Tell Ashton his plan failed. Get out."

Calum

I actually gave it to him. What have I done? What would have happened if he drank the whole thing? I knewy heart was dark, I didn't know it was pitch black.

Luke

It burned. Terribly. I hadn't even downed the whole thing and it hurt. My mouth was on fire and I couldn't scream. "Luke. Hold on. Michael's getting the Avdcal. Look at me." Her voice drew me close and I looked up into her eyes. She was holding my head in her lap and stroking my hair gently. "You're going to be Ok. You didn't swallow any." I nodded lightly and let her take my mind off of the pain.

Michael's fingers found the inside of my forearm and drew the sigil of healing. The Avdcal was a good pain suppressor, but it didn't heal all the way. You'd need something a lot stronger. Like Solylixov. That would be the most powerful healer. It's made of dried rose petals, melted Erbium, honeycomb, the feather of a Roc, and the blood of a white angel. It was a very complicated concoction. There was no way to get the ingredients nowadays. The Roc is more or less extinct and white angels don't consider Doalim a place of peace. "How are you feeling Luke?" Michael asked me, bringing me out of my medicinal state of mind. I opened my mouth and Y/N squeaked softly, covering her mouth. Michael raised an eyebrow. "The burning stopped. Now it's just an irritating sting." I said with a bit of a husky sound to my voice. "Your mouth! It's black!" Y/N shrieked. I blinked and looked towards Michael who nodded in agreement. Y/N reached inside her bag and pulled out a compact mirror and handed it to me. I gave her a look and she shrugged. "You never known when you'll need to look good."

I looked in the mirror, opening my mouth to see that my tongue and roof of my mouth had been turned black from the drop of palladium. "Huh. There's something you don't see everyday." I joked and felt my heart drop. She would never want to kiss me again.

Ashton

"Well? Did you do it?" I asked excitedly, hoping for the details of Luke's burning from the inside out. Oh what a time to be alive. Calum hesitated. "He took it....but he couldn't drink the whole thing. Michael interrupted and threw it to the floor." I felt the anger bubble up inside me. My hands shook and my jaw clenched. The power rose up inside me and I lifted a hand and let it fly at Calum. He was blown across the room and into the far wall. He hit it with such force that the plaster cracked and rained down on Calum like snow. He groaned and spit out blood all over my new carpet. I rolled my eyes and wiped my hands on my jeans. "If I want something done right, I'll have to do it myself. Or with some help." I snapped my fingers and the tall angel walked in, grinning sinisterly. "You know what to do. Don't disappoint me." His green eyes sparkled. "I won't."

Alessa

I kept replaying the incident with Luke in my mind. No matter what, my mind always wandered to the way Luke's eyes went feral like a wild animal. He had told me he'd never hurt me. But he did. How could I forgive him for that? I sighed and spread my metalic blue wings. They were still a little sore but I was getting used to them. Getting used to the eye color thing was a bit weirder. I had made a list of the colors they seemed to have changed. My normal green, the same blue as my wings, yellow, and black. I always admired Luke's eye colors. They were unique.

"Alessa this is Luke. I'd like you to help him get situated if you would." Michael said with a grin that he only gave me. "Great. Another idiot I need to look after." I joked and the scrawny boy looked down at his shoes. Michael chuckled and patted him on the back before leaving him with me. "Hey. I was kidding by the way. Calum and Michael are the idiots. I don't even know if you're a full on idiot yet." He smiled then. "I'm Luke. I'm new here." He said with a lovely speaking voice. "No kidding. I'm Alessa. It's nice to meet you Luke. Welcome to Doalim."

"Less please?" He whined and pouted at me like a lost puppy. Finally I gave in and rolled my eyes. "Fine. You can lick the spoon. Five year old." I handed him the wooden spoon and he planted a big wet kiss on my cheek. "Ew." I giggled and rubbed the saliva off my cheek. He gave me a wink and licked off the cake batter. "This is awesome Lessa!" I grinned and patted his arm. He was getting bulkier by the second. When he first got here he was nothing but a noodle on legs. Now he had shoulders broader than the horizon. He'd gotten much taller and his arms and chest were definitely more muscular. "Less? Are you alright?" He asked, keeping me from staring any longer. "Yeah. I'm just trying to figure out what flavor frosting to make." He licked the remaining batter off of his pink lips and rubbed his large hands together. "This is my area of expertise!"

"Does it look bad?" He asked, the stud protruding from his bottom lip. I blinked and dropped my whisk. "N-No. It doesn't look bad at all." He smiled that beautiful smile and bent down to grab the whisk. I watched as his back muscles contracted and I held my breath. He came back up and handed me the metal whisk. His burgundy eyes searched mine as my breath still seemed to be lost. "Are you alright Less?" Every time he called me Less my heart stopped. "I'm fine Luke. I promise." I smiled and touched his arm lightly.

"Shh. Someone will hear us." He whispered and kissed my neck softly. His cool lip ring brushed over my skin, making me shiver. "Luke you're drunk on angel sugar." I hissed. Even though I wanted this to happen so badly, I couldn't let him do this while he was intoxicated. He would regret it. He pulled away and looked at me with sad eyes. "What if I die in the morning? I want to hold you and feel love while I still can Lessa. You know I'm not going to live as long as the others. I'm going to die before I turn twenty. What kind of life is that?" I didn't have any words to say to that. I helped him to his room and put him to bed before he hurt himself. I bent down to kiss his cheek when he moved his head and kissed my lips. The kiss didn't last long but it was magical. Before he closed his eyes he held my wrist and mumbled, "I love you Less."

I blinked away the tears forming in my eyes and I knew I had to forgive him. I love him.

Michael

I stepped out onto the balcony and looked up to the stars. Everything was changing and becoming darker. I didn't know when the last time I'd see the light would be, but being near the stars lifted my spirits. Perhaps the light is closer than I think. I felt Y/N's arms wrap around my waist and I knew instantly that the light wasn't far away at all. She was right here.

Just a drop can do so much damage to the kindhearted. Just a drop can change lives forever. The darkness is increasing while the light is decreasing from Doalim. The end of days may be near, if there is darkness to fear. The light may surprise us all and conquer the darkness to fall.
