Chapter 1

07:16, 16 August 2014

Emma woke up to an 8:15 AM alarm and gently silenced it. It felt like she'd been up all night. Although, that was probably because she was dreaming so much. She couldn't stop thinking about Killian Jones, the man who let go of his first love when he found Emma, the man who came back to save her in New York, the man who traded his ship for her. Killian always said his ship was his home, and she knew that you don't just give up your home for nothing. He did it for love, and she believed that he loved her. The question was, did she love him too?

Emma got out of bed and made her way to the door. She stopped when she heard a conversation on the other side. She knew that voice. Killian was talking to Henry. She was a bit startled at his presence in her apartment, but she wasn't at all angry.

She opened the door in her pajamas and found Henry and Killian sitting on the couch. They turned around to find Emma smiling at the two of them.

"Morning, Mom!" Henry grinned.

"Hey kid."

She then focused her eyes on Killian. "Hello, love."

Emma couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked. She laughed in her head remembering all the times he referred to himself as "devilishly handsome." Now, she couldn't agree more. There was just something weirdly sexy abou-

"EHEM." Henry coughed, interrupting the staring of the other two people in the room.

Killian and Emma turned their heads toward him. "What?" they both asked. Henry rolled his eyes, "Nothing," he laughed.

"So, Killian, What might you be doing here this early?" Emma wondered.

"Uh, well, I thought I would share our adventure in the Enchanted Forest yesterday with your boy. It was quite the adventure, wasn't it?" He smirked.

Emma immediately thought about all the time she spent with Killian yesterday. It was so wonderful seeing her home, and having him with her. "Yeah, it was really amazing," she responded while grabbing a glass of water.

"So, you interrupted Snow and Charming meeting, then you met Killian in the past, then watched Snow almost die, then she turned herself into a ladybug, all with assistance of Rumplestiltskin, and somehow, everything's the same?" Henry stated, realizing how awesome that sounded.

Emma and Killian laughed. "Like I said, my boy. Quite the adventure," Killian glanced at Emma with soft eyes.

She responded with a smile and then thought about Henry again. "So, Henry," she said happily, wanting to stare at Killian more, "What do you feel like doing today?"

"Hmm...could we go to the park?" he asked hopefully.

"Whatever you want kid," Emma smiled.

"Killian, can you come to?" Henry asked.

"Uh, sure if you want. I'd be fine with that," Killian responded, surprised at the invitation.

"Breakfast at Granny's on the way?" Emma suggested.

"Sounds good." Henry replied.

"Be ready in ten minutes, okay?"

"Okay!" Henry shouted as he ran off to go get dressed.

As he dashed up the stairs, Killian and Emma were left alone downstairs. "So, Killian," Emma peered at him with suspicious eyes.

"Swan," he replied with a smile, standing up, making his way towards her.

"Did you really come all the way over here at eight o'clock in the morning to tell Henry a story?"

"Well, when you say it like that, it sounds silly," he said, decreasing the distance between them.

She studied him and gave him a "I don't believe you" look.

"Okay, okay," he was in the kitchen with her now. "I came to see you, Swan."

Emma's face lit up with joy, but kept it mostly concealed. "Really?"

"Aye."

They were about two feet apart when Killian put his arms around her waist. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they stared at each other. "So now you've seen me." she said.

"I believe so," he responded, leaning into her. Their lips connected at once passionately, and Emma suddenly became week at her knees. However, she liked to be in control often.

She ran her hands through his hair and the kiss was still unbroken. She didn't ever want to stop, but remembering the ten minutes she gave Henry, she had to get ready herself.

"Killian," she said heavily.

"Yes, love?"

"I'm in my pajamas," she explained.

"Well, would you like to go to the bedroom then?" he smirked.

Their arms still wrapped around each other, but at a further distance, her cheeks flushed. "I mean, I can't go to the park like this. I have to go get ready, okay?"

"Ah, I see. No bedroom then?" He smirked, at the same time slightly disappointed.

"Killian," Emma moaned at his behavior, but secretly enjoyed it.

"Okay, okay, go Swan," he sighed and planted one last kiss on her lips before she left his arms.

"Back in a minute," she smiled and strutted back to her room.

Killian opened Emma's passenger door and bowed, "M'lady."

"It's just Granny's," Emma laughed, although enjoyed it.

"Well, I wouldn't want to have bad form, Swan." Emma rolled her eyes while laughing.

Breakfast was quick, and then the three drove to the park.

"Hey, Killian?" Henry spoke from the back seat of the yellow Volkswagen Bug.

"Yes, lad?" Killian turned his head toward Henry from the passenger seat in front.

"How...what is it like, sailing the seas?"

Killian looked surprised at the question, as did Emma.

Hook hesitated, "Well, m'boy, the seas are wonderful. There were times when I was quite the opposite of how I am now. When I was alone." he looked down and fidgeted with his hook.

Emma looked at him sympathetically. He lifted his head up, making eye contact with her.

Killian forced a smile and looked back toward Henry, "But I found some good mates here in Storybrooke, and I'm very thankful for that."

Henry smiled back at him as they approached the park. All of them departed from the car and Henry raced to the swings.

As Killian headed for a park bench, Emma spotted familiar faces not far away.

Regina's face came into view, as well as Robin and Roland. The couple appeared to be on a walk, Roland in between them, holding hands.

"Regina!" Emma shouted, attempting to get her attention.

Regina whipped her dark hair behind her face to see Emma. "Emma," she said joyfully.

Emma ran up to the trio, all of their faces lighting up. "What are you doing here?" Regina asked.

"Henry wanted to go to the park today. Would you like to join us? Maybe Roland could hang out with Henry for a bit?" Emma suggested.

Regina glanced at Robin searching for approval to stop their walk. "Yes, that would be nice," Robin replied with a smile.

They led Roland to the swings toward Henry, when Emma lightly grasped Regina's shoulder. "Regina, could I talk to you for a minute?" Emma looked slightly timid.

Regina looked worried when she saw Emma's expression. "Um, sure. May I ask, what about?"

Emma gestured her head away from everyone else. "Oh, of course," Regina responded.

At the other side of the park, Henry and Roland were playing together. Killian studied Emma and Regina from afar.

"Hello, Killian." Robin said, approaching the bench.

Killian nodded, "Robin."

"I don't believe we've ever had a genuine conversation before."

"Well, I can't think of anything we have in common," Killian replied.

Robin paused for a moment, "You know, we were both thieves once."

Killian scanned Robin's face, where a smirk was plastered. "Would you like to talk about stealing?" Killian asked sarcastically.

"Okay, 'mate'," Robin started. "I was just trying to make friends." Robin held up his hands defensively. "I think Emma would like it if we got along."

Killian quickly responded, "Why would she like it?"

"Well she certainly wouldn't like it if we didn't get along."

He finally gave in, "Okay, sure. We can..be friends."

The two men shook hands, Robin smiling and Killian looking suspicious because it was true after all. They had never really spent much time together. They decided to go play with the two boys on swings for a while. Killian still wondered about Emma and Regina, and what they were talking about. Probably Henry, he assumed.
