10:27, 1 August 2022The next day
Marcy had to leave Anne's house due to some family business she had to deal with, which left Sasha and her girlfriend alone to spend time some together
It was a shame that Marcy couldn't hang out with them, it was a nice weekend and it was sunny out. It would have been a delight if Marcy could have hung out with them for a little longer.
Sasha and Anne were upstairs in Anne's bedroom. Sasha was on her phone scrolling through twitter drama meanwhile Anne was sitting on the floor with her eyes fixated on the television.
"The top spot to bring your girlfriend or boyfriend on a date is to the Amusement Park where a fun filled exiting day is ensured with all the possible heart racing events to occur!" The TV spoke.
"Sasha! Let's go to an Amusement Park!" Anne exclaimed as she quickly jumped up to her feet and took both of Sasha's hands in hers.
"Are there even any amusement parks nearby?" Sasha raised an eyebrow.
"Yea, me and Sprig went to one before and we got on a giant air balloon, it was so fun! But things kinda got out of hand, long story." Replied Anne.
"Hm? Amusement Park? That sounds like a fun idea." Sasha smiled sweetly at Anne whose eyes were lit up with excitement like a child offered a lollipop.
"Right? It's a date then!" Anne declared with vigor. Sasha felt a heat rise to her cheeks as she examined the brunette excited expression.
'A date with Anne....huh.'
They've been girlfriends for aboutย a week now, but the notion of dates, especially when said aloud still made Sasha blush and feel shyness and bliss of a girl who just confessed and her love is reciprocated.
The dinner from the day before, Marcy or Anne may have considered it a date but Sasha didn't. Marcy wasn't in their relationship yet so she didn't want to call it a date without getting Marcy's approval.
So in this case, Sasha had never been on a date before.
......
Sasha was pretty sure there would be a lot of water so she had to go back to Marcy's house to go through her things and bring back a swimsuit.
It was a very hot day. And I think we all know that Anne doesn't do very well in the heat. Just see how she always kept the window open when her and Sprig became roommates that one time where her room was flooded.
Usually she'd bring her speaker into the bathroom to play some music while she showered. It calmed her down and made her feel good. She'd also listen to some k-pop songs or songs that hit deep to her and related to.
She had been roaming around in the grass with Sprig earlier, so she had gotten a couple of leaves and a bunch of dirt in her hair. What's up with leaves always getting in her hair? Does no one want to tell her she has leaves in her hair!?
Anne squeezed some shampoo into the palm of her hand and lathered it through her hair as the calming music on the other side of the curtain played.
Ooh, I wish I could give you my set of eyes
Cause I know your eyes ain't working, mmm
I wish I could tell you that you're fine, so fine
But you will find that disconcerting
You turn oranges to orange juice
Into there, then spit it out of you
Your body is imperfectly perfect
Everyone wants what the other one's working
No orange juice
...
'Damn that shit hits hard.' Anne thought.
Anne had already finished bathing. She then rinsed the shampoo out of her hair turned the shower faucet. Once the water turned off she stepped out of the bathtub and wrapped a towel around her body, and one around her head to dry her hair.
Another song had already started playing. Anne was paying deep attention to the lyrics, listening to all of the parts she related to.
Think I just remembered something
I think I left the faucet running
Now my words are filling up the tub
Darling, you're just soaking in it
But I know you'll get out the minute
You notice all your fingers pruning up
I'm tired of being careful, gentle
Trying to keep the water warm
Let me under your skin
Uh-oh, there it goes
I said too much, it overflowed
Why do I always spill?
Anne related to those words on a personal level. So much that if it wasn't a song she'd think the person was describing her life.
'Yup, just like me. It's like when I think about confessing my love to Marcy. "I think I left the faucet running. Now my words are filling up the tub." What if I forget something? What if I can't turn off the water from afar and it leads to a big flood of the problems? What if I start babbling? What it I won't be able to stop the babbling...?'
'I'm tired of being careful, gentleTrying to keep the water warmLet me under your skin'
'God this is annoying. I can't keep going in like this, I have to tell her how I feel! It's such a nuisance to keep something in a constant state. My confession has to be perfect. I can't just let random words slip out, she'll think I'm cheesy! It's like warm water in a bathtub. The water won't stay warm for long, if unattended, like my words, I'll let it all out. I'll spill.'
'And if the water doesn't stay warm, she'll get out as soon as her fingers prune.'
'She'll leave me.'
'My feelings for her are always present, ready to burst out at any given moment. But I have to be careful. I have to tiptoe around her, keep it slow, and watch what I say to avoid letting myself get carried away.'
'Why do I always spill?'
Anne's thoughts were interrupted when she saw her phone lighting up on the toilet seat. She approached her phone to see what was going on.
It was an incoming call from "Muscledgoddess."
Anne picked up her phone and clicked on the green accept button.
"Hey Anne! I just picked up my swimsuit from Marcy's hou- I MEAN my house! I'll be there in a few minutes so that we can go in our date." Sasha said.
"Okay! I just got out of the shower since I was sweating a lot. When you get here I'll open up the door for you." Anne responded.
"Alright, sounds good to me. I'm on my way!" Sasha informed.
Sasha then hung up the phone.
Anne let out a hard sigh and switched off her music.
...
Anne finished putting in all of her clothes and examined herself in the mirror.
Before she got ready, she had made up her bed and out a bunch of stuffed animals on it. Anne had really wanted Sasha to sleep over so she had decorated the room. Sasha liked it warm so that's what all the stuffed animals were for.
She tilted her head while running her fingers through her curls. She thought about brushing her hair for a second but had second thoughts and grabbed a hair band instead and put her hair up in a ponytail.
'Eh, who needs their hair done all neatly when it's just going to get messed up again?' Anne thought.
Anne then heard a sudden knock at her bedroom door. She raised an eyebrow in confusion.
'Damn, she must really want to go on that date.'
"Coming!" Anne called from behind the door. Sounds of fabric move and hurried footsteps could be heard as Sasha smiled patiently. The door opened. "Welcome Sasha! It isn't much but I hope you enjoy your stay!" Anne smiled widely as she gestured to her room in a welcoming manner. Sasha let out a small giggle.
"Hmmm... I assumed we were going on a date, but a sleepover sound good too, are we sharing the bed?"
"Of course um..." Anne stuttered.
Why were they so embarrassed? It's not like they haven't slept together before. I mean, they have slept together. But it's different now, they're dating. They've slept together without Marcy there before they were dating, but it's kinda different when your relationship status changes.
Sasha had a light pink glow to her cheeks, also feeling slight embarrassment from the question. "Anne."
Anne met Sasha's eyes.
"Date." Sasha lifted up her bag in her hands, showing her that she was prepared for the Amusement Park date and she was waiting. Anne regained her energy as she remembered her initial plans for today, the shy look turned into a gigantic smile as she slung her bag over her shoulder and reached to grab one of Sasha's hands. "Let's go Sasha! The Amusement Park is waiting for us!"
Sasha smiled broadly as she held Anne's hand and followed her to their destination.
Outside the Amusement park, Anne and Sasha stood on line with everyone else that wanted to go in. The line was relatively long with about fifteen or more people in front of them and many more behind. It was close to noon now, so the sun shined brightly and shared its abundance of warmth to the people below who wished for a lovely, sunny day for the time in the amusement park.
......
"Which way should we go first?" Anne held a map of the park open for Sasha to analyze. "Maybe start towards the back of the park and make our way toward?"
"Yeah, or we could loop around this way and make it to the food court in time for lunch." Sasha suggested as she drew a path on the map with her finger. "And then we could hit up the water rides in after that."
Anne nods satisfied. "See, this is why I keep you around."
Sasha screeched internally as she felt a heat form on her face. 'How did she turn me into such a hopeless romantic!?' Sasha thought.
"Let's get on that one!" Anne pointed at a ride nearby. The park-goers on the ride sit in log-like boats, no more than five people in a boat, and travel along a water flame that that's raised up, probably about twenty feet in the air. It ends with a big drop and a splash. "It doesn't look too intense, I don't think we need to change into our bathing suits for it." Anne exclaimed.
Sasha smiled and nodded. "Yeah, let's do it!"
They both jumped in line, and the path winds around, eventually dropping you off at one of those platforms that is perpetually turning. The little log boats move with the platforms so the ride never really stops. Anne leads the way, climbing into the boat that they are assigned. The boat only has one bench-like seat running from front to back, and Anne straddled it, leaning back and patting the space in front of her. "Get in!"
"You sure you don't want to be in the front?" Sasha teased her as she lowered herself into the boat.
Anne smiled and rolled her eyes.
"I'm trying to be nice." Anne laughs. "You know you wouldn't be able to see anything if you sat behind me."
"That might be true." Sasha agreed, smiling over her shoulder at her once she was seated.
The boat departs from the platform and starts along its path, quickly coming to a moving belt that pulled them up the first hill. Sasha held onto the handle bars on each side of the boat, trying to keep herself from falling backs against Anne. Sasha felt Anne's fingertips on her shoulder. "Are you okay? Your shoulders are all red. Do you need more sunscreen?" Anne tenderly touched the red skin.
"No thanks, I'm fine." Sasha replied.
The boat is pulled up one last hill before leveling again and wrapping around for the big drop. As they approach, they realize that the drop is a lot steeper than they originally thought it was. "Oh my god, we're gonna die." Sasha instinctively scooted backwards as the drop got closer, as if they could actually avoid it. Anne chuckled and Sasha felt Anne's arm wrap around her waist, pulling Sasha's back against her. "Your fine, relax dear."
And just like that, the boat veered down the hill and Sasha was pressing back against Anne, screaming bloody murder. Your totally fine when your appropriately strapped in, but it felt way too dangerous. The boat crashed into the water at the bottom, sending a huge wave of water, and suddenly they were both soaked. 'What the heck? Why is everyone else dry except for us?' Sasha thought, offended.
Anne laughed warmly as their boat headed for the platform, and Anne released Sasha from her grip.
"That wave was huge!" Sasha immediately complained. "Jesus my clothes are completely soaked through!"
Behind Sasha, Anne's laughter turned into cackling. "I never realized how great of a waterproof shield you are." Anne teased.
"Damn it Anne." Sasha turned around and realized that Anne's clothes were completely dry, exempt for a bit of dampness on her shoulders and in her hair. "That is so not fair!"
"Heh, maybe it's time for bathing suits now." Anne chuckled.
"You think?"
The two of them made their way to the water park area, splitting off once they found the locker rooms. Sasha brought along her favorite two piece, a vintage black and white backless swimsuit.
Anne wore a one piece yellow plaid backless swimsuit.
How dare Sasha stand over there looking so beautiful like it's no big deal!?
Sasha's seen Anne in a swimsuit before, but sheย doesn't think she'll ever stop thinking that Anne looked good in every outfit she wore. I mean, she looked drop dead gorgeous. No matter how many times Anne wears something different Sasha see's her that way. Still, Sasha put on a casual smile and pretended that she wasn't hoping that Anne thought she looked good too.
"So..." Sasha starts as they walk out of the changing rooms. "Thoughts on the lazy river?"
"Sounds perfectly peaceful." Anne smiles, and they both head off.
The water was chilly, but Sasha didn't mind it too much. It was nice to get a break from the hot sun, and it really did help to clear her head when it was too muddled with thoughts about Anne's gorgeousness.
They each grabbed an intertube, and Sasha sat down in the middle of hers. Anne pulled hers down over her shoulders so her head, chest, and arms all stick out of the water. It worked out well that way, she was easily able to keep up with wherever she floated off to.
For a bit they chatted about nothing, really, but then Anne changed the subject. "You know, you never really told me about the people you fell in love with before me or Marcy yet. Any other boys or girls you've fell in love with before?"
Oh dear. Sasha rolled her eyes to cover her panic. "Anne, don't you know I was focusing on myself then? I was a self-sufficient woman. People were overrated."
Anne laughed. "Yeah, they are. But really, there's not anyone?"
Sasha met Anne's eyes, and there was something so starkly serious about her expression.
'Why is she asking like that...?'
Sasha took a chance. She knew she shouldn't, but she offered a flirtatious question as her response. "Wouldn't you like to know?"
Deep down, Sasha wasn't feeling okay inside, she felt like someone had just lit up fireworks inside her, it would be too embarrassing for Anne to know that she and Marcy were the only people she's ever loved. It's not like she's embarrassed to be in a relationship with them or love them. It's just that they'd tease her any say something like "I expected a pretty lady like you to have dated someone before" or "I thought you'd have some experience in dating considering how flirty you are."
She's supposed to be doing the teasing, not them.
Anne raised an eyebrow. Instead of responding to the question, though, she grabbed Sasha by her ankles and launched her into a spin. Sasha laughed and tried to stop herself from spinning by digging Anne's hands down into the water, effectively splashing Anne as she spun.
"Hey!" Anne splashed her back, and it was an all-out war.
At the end of the day, Anne insisted on riding the ferris wheel. They were both worn out from running around the park all day and rough housing, but the ferris wheel was Anne's favorite. Plus, the sun was setting and they just knew everything would look beautiful from up there.
Anne humored Sasha, and they both climbed into the circular carriage. Sasha sat across from Anne to balance the weight, and they peered over the edge as they were lifted into the air.
The golden sunset washed the whole park in the most gorgeous shades of yellow and orange, the clouds turning pink above them. It's absolutely beautiful, just as they thought it might be.
"Stay right there, don't move." Sasha broke open her drawstring bag, fishing out her cell phone to take a photo of Anne. "Trust me, you'll want this for your Instagram."
Sasha laughed, even though it's unlikely. Anne rarely posted photos of herself, she was often too critical of the way they look.
"Just keep looking out like that."
Anne moved around the carriage, looking for the best angle. "That's perfect! Beautiful."
After snapping a few photos, she sat down next to Sasha to show her the pictures, her arm casually coming to rest across her shoulders. Believe it or not, Sasha actually loved them. The multi-colored sky makes the perfect background, and she actually looked really lovely (even in the overpriced amusement park t-shirt she was wearing, since her other shirt was still wet).
'Is this how I look in Sasha's eyes?' Anne questioned herself.
"They turned out great," Anne praised Sasha's photography skills as she flips through the photos. "Seriously, these are all incredible."
She didn't say anything. Anne sat quietly, looking down at the phone. Anne felt her fingertips glide carefully over Sasha's shoulder, and the simple touch made Sasha's heart race. How was she supposed to breathe when Anne was sitting so close?
Sasha kept her eyes trained downward, even after Anne pocketed her phone. She was too afraid to meet her eyes, too nervous about the minimal space between them.
The way Anne murmured Sasha's name completely melted her. Did Anne feel the sudden thickness in the air? Was she just wishing that this could be a romantic moment? Because Sasha sure did want to feel like the main character in a romance movie.
The ferris wheel stopped rotating just after they came over the crest. It was too perfect.
"I love being with you. You're the best person I've ever been with. There's literally no one else I'd rather be in a relationship with." Sasha said.
What's going on?
Sasha reached over to grab hold of Anne's hand, and for a second Anne swore her whole body went up in flames. "Will you look at me?"
She did as she was asked, and her face was alarmingly close. Anne was beautiful and perfect and everything that Sasha loved.
"You are the most incredible person I know." Sashaย searched her face.
"I don't want to mess up our relationship by saying something stupid but I can't keep pretending that my love isn't more than you think it is, I love you to the point where I will do anything for you."
"Are you serious?" Anne's eyes lingered on her lips. They looked so soft and lovely.
"Dead serious. I'm really sorry for just dumping this on you, but I really love you Anne, and I know you know this already but I just had to say it, I'll say it a thousand times just to get it through your thick skull. I have so much fun with you, and it kills me how gorgeous you are." Sasha released the grip on her hand, and she cupped her face.
Her gaze was so beautifully sweet, and she covered Anne's hand with her own, finally finding the courage to spill her feelings. "Anne, you already know I love you. But what you don't know is that I've been in love with you since the day I met you, you and Marcy are the only people I ever fell in love with and I love that, nobody could make me become friends with them or convince me about things the way you do. You never stopped trying to be my friend and you never gave up on me even when I was so manipulative to you and I love you for that. I'm in love with you, I never thought I'd say that to anyone in my life until I met you."
"....Huh....?" Anne echoed, her thumb caressing Sasha's cheek, and she immediately flushed.
"That's too much, isn't it..." Maybe I should have censored myself a little better.
"No, it's perfect." Her forehead touches hers. "It's the word I wanted to use, but I was afraid It'd be too cheesy."
Sasha nursed her bottom lip nervously. "I'm not going anywhere. I love you, Anne."
"I love you too, Sasha."
Finally, finally, Sasha closed the gap, and her lips press onto Sasha's. The kiss was soft, sweet, and had all the love and care in it.
It's not like they hadn't had they're first kiss together before, it felt the exact same as before, except it felt even more heartwarming and gentle.
And now, Sasha finally had her lips again.
