Chapter Six- Pet Rock

[ Third Person Pov ]

Seungmin had spent the entire day trying to forget about the fanfiction. He'd tried to bury it, put it in the back of his mind like an embarrassing song lyric you couldn't stop humming. But it was no use. Every time he closed his eyes, the ridiculous portrayal of him as the worst boyfriend ever- emotionally constipated and all- kept creeping back.

"Forget it," he muttered to himself, walking into the dorm and tossing his bag onto the couch. "I'm over it. It's just some stupid fanfic. Doesn't even matter."

But then, he heard it.

Laughter. Uncontrollable, shrill laughter.

He turned to see Felix and Jisung sitting on the floor of the living room, Felix holding his phone up like it was a golden treasure and Jisung, clutching his stomach like he was about to collapse from laughter.

Seungmin's blood immediately began to boil.

"Are you-" Seungmin didn't even finish his sentence before Felix waved him over with a mischievous grin plastered on his face.

"Hey, Seungmin! You've gotta check this out," Felix said, almost too gleeful. "It's, like, you but worse."

Seungmin froze. He couldn't believe it. He slowly walked over to Felix, narrowing his eyes in suspicion. "What do you mean, 'worse'?" he asked, almost afraid to hear the answer.

Felix tapped the screen and handed it over, his eyes twinkling with barely contained excitement. Seungmin looked down at the phone, and there it was. The fanfiction. Her fanfiction.

Jisung was still laughing uncontrollably beside them. "Dude, you have to read the part where you give your girlfriend a pet rock for her birthday. I'm crying!"

Seungmin blinked, his hands going cold as his eyes skimmed the line Jisung was referring to:

"Seungmin stared at the small rock in his hands, his eyes distant. 'It's a symbol of our relationship,' he said with all the emotional depth of a brick wall."

Seungmin's jaw dropped. "Are you kidding me right now?"

Felix snorted. "Dude, it says here you give her a pet rock because 'you can't afford a dog.' What kind of monster-"

"I don't give people rocks as presents!" Seungmin snapped, his face flushing with disbelief.

Jisung, still gasping for air, somehow managed to get out, "And then- wait, wait- there's this line: 'Seungmin tried to make it up by pretending the rock had magical powers and could talk, but it just... stayed there.'"

"Are you serious?" Seungmin said, his voice rising in both frustration and complete bafflement. "This is what you guys are laughing at?"

Felix was holding his stomach now, clearly trying to regain his composure. "I mean, it's funny, Seungmin. You're, like, a stone-cold legend in this one. You're so detached it's like you don't even know you have feelings. It's classic."

Seungmin couldn't handle it anymore. His patience was done. That was the last straw.

"Okay, that's it," he said, his voice suddenly calm but filled with a dangerous edge. "I'm going to message her again!"

Felix blinked, his eyes widening with alarm. "Wait-"

"I'm serious," Seungmin growled, snatching Felix's phone from his hands. "I'm going to set the record straight."

Jisung immediately sobered up, his laughter dying as he realized Seungmin wasn't joking. "Seungmin, you're not seriously-"

"I'll send her a message right now," Seungmin declared, ignoring them both as he opened Instagram. "I'm tired of being made out to be some emotionally constipated monster who gifts rocks for birthdays."

Felix, seeing Seungmin's fiery determination, quickly waved his hands. "Okay, okay, man, but you're gonna have to deal with her after this. She's wild."

Seungmin didn't care. His fingers tapped the screen furiously, his irritation growing by the second. "I'll deal with her. She doesn't know who she's messing with."
