Seulgi was about to scream when someone grabbed her wrist suddenly and pulled her into the alleyway close to the school, but the person clamped a hand over her mouth to stop the sound.

The person let go and she whirled around, ready to beat the crap out of the guy, but it was just Jaebum.

"Gosh! Jae you startled me!" she exclaimed, letting out a sigh of relief. "You know you can just ask me to talk to you, right?"

Jaebum said nothing but stared at her with an undecipherable look. "What...?" Seulgi began, but before she could end Jaebum pulled her towards him.

Too stunned to speak, she felt him hook a finger beneath her chin and tilt her head up. His lips came down to meet hers briefly and Seulgi was shocked. He pulled away, his eyes still boring holes into hers.

"Don't say anything, just listen," Jaebum began. "I know you have lots of questions and suspicions, so I'm just gonna say it all right now."

Seulgi who was about to speak, closed her mouth slowly. Jaebum nodded and continued. "Seulgi, I...I like you. A lot. That's number one," he told her, and she looked at him strangely. "Two; I did kiss you that night, when I was dared to. Three; I've been...I have been... faking my grades, but—"

Seulgi frowned and moved away from him. "So what I heard that night was right, huh?" she asked him, rather annoyed. Jaebum tried to continue but Seulgi stopped him. "Look. Let me just answer you straight away – I like someone else –" Those words stung Jaebum harder than anything. "And to be honest, I'm rather pissed you didn't tell me about your grades thing sooner. It could have saved me a lot of time and hassle."

"Seulgi I—"

"Don't you know I have a little brother to take care of? Don't you know I have to fulfil the duties of a mother because our actual mum left us?" She sighed. "I could have easily gone to Administration and asked that I be excluded as a tutor because of my duties at home, but I thought – I stupidly thought – that the person I'm going to tutor really needs my help, so I ought to do it."

Seulgi looked at the ground and stamped her feet. Then she raised her head again and stared at him sharply. "And now I find out that my help was never needed. Why would you fake your grades anyway?!" Then she shook her head. "You know what, don't answer that. For all I know, you probably had your own reasons."

Jaebum's expression seemed beyond hurt.

"Let's just be friends." Seulgi completed flatly and started to stride out of the alley.

But Jaebum ran after her. "Wait!" he called. She stopped, but didn't turn around. "I can't just be friends with you, Seulgi."

She turned to face him. "Yeah, well, sorry. Life sucks sometimes and things don't always go your way and your parents don't always take care of you and the person you like doesn't always like you back!" Seulgi's voice had risen as she neared the end of the sentence. "But there's nothing you can do about it, Jae." She looked him right in the eye. "Nothing. Because that's life. And life is just crap for some people."

She turned back around. "And as for me, I don't need any more shit in my life."

Jaebum let her go this time, his heart torn into little pieces and scattered far from each other.

"Stop!" Sana hissed. "What if someone sees us?" It was Friday afternoon, the end of test week. Everyone was outdoors playing basketball or hanging out, but the two were on classroom duty for the day.

Jun ignored her words and continued to kiss her until Sana shoved him away and hit is ass with the broom. "Clean," she ordered him, and he submissively continued his sweeping.

They finished sweeping the class, then cleaned the board before mopping the floor. Sana had to go home early because she had an appointment at the optician. Jun's last duty was to empty the bins. He walked Sana to the school gates then doubled back to dispose of the garbage. When he threw away the black bags into the trash pile, he felt his phone ring. He took it out and answered it.

It was his mum. "There's an envelope for you," she told him with excitement in her voice. "And I think I know who it's from. Come home quickly!"

He smiled as he hung up and turned to jog back to his class when he ran into his classmates.

"Hey Yerin," he said brightly. "Hey Jungchan. Ooo~ nice shoes. The new Jordans, right?" He jogged past them. "Bye Yerin! Bye Jungchan!" He yelled over his shoulder before they could even say anything.

Yerin glanced at Jungchan who shrugged.

"Anyway,"Yerin told him. "We just found our spot."

Jungchan looked wary. "Do you really want to do this?" he muttered.

Yerin checked Jun's retreating figure to make sure he was out of earshot. "There's not stopping now," she replied.

PS. (21/10/2020) You will not BELIEVE what happened. I bet you've never had such a clumsy author before.

As you all know this was meant to go up yesterday. Turns out, I didn't actually PUBLISH the part. I wrote it and edited it and everything, but I didn't actually UPLOAD it!!

This ALWAYS happens to me. Especially with homework; there have been many occasions when I forget to submit my work even though I've done it.

But anyways, my DEEPEST APOLOGIES!!

It was just by chance that I was on Wattpad and noticed I hadn't published it yet.

Thank you for your patience!!

PPS. Stream <Why Not> by Loona because I said so. (But fr tho, the song is another SAUCY BANGER from my baybees, so pls go listen).
