19:11, 7 September 2020Jun's face was inches from Sana's, but she didn't know it. Her eyes were closed; she was asleep. "Wake up~" he whispered. She didn't move.
"Yah...wake up," he repeated. Sana didn't stir. A thought crossed his mind and he smirked. He leaned closer to her and their lips met.
"Wake up~" he whispered dreamily into the kiss. Sana squirmed, then opened her eyes. She shoved Jun off her, but she was trying not to smile.
Jun had a naughty smile on. "Who knew you'd even kiss me back in your sleep?" he teased, wiping his bottom lip with his thumb. Sana rolled her eyes and sat up. "Is the sky clear now?" she asked, looking up into the darkness.
Their third date had kicked off with a late-night tennis match (which Sana surprisingly won, though she suspected Jun let her win) then some tteokbokki and seafood ramen. Now they were spread out on a blanket watching the night sky. Sana had been given a telescope for her tenth birthday, and every weekend since, she'd observed the different planets and stars and constellations she could see from her home.
The pair were out in a field with short grass, far from buildings that would offer light pollution. Clouds had obscured their view for a while, and Sana had fallen asleep while waiting for them to pass. It was half-past ten on a Saturday night, but she'd still felt tired.
"I'm guessing this flavour is cherry," he said, laying on his back again. Sana nodded and lay down next to him. Then she pointed into the dark sky. "That's the Perseus constellation. The bright star right there is Mirfak and the kind of orange looking star is Miram..." Sana told him as he slipped an arm around her shoulders so she could rest her head on his chest.
"Tell me more," he coaxed her. Sana pointed south of Perseus. "There's Cassiopeia. My favourite constellation. However, her name isn't as beautiful as her story. You know why?" she asked him. Jun shook his head. "She boasted so much of her beauty that she angered the sea nymphs, the Nereids, who appealed to Poseidon to punish her for her boastfulness."
"What happened?" Jun asked quietly.
"Poseidon sent a sea monster, Cetus the Whale," she pointed to another constellation nearby. "In the end, to make Poseidon take the monster away, they had to sacrifice Andromeda, their daughter to it. And they did."
Jun was silent for a while. "What happened to her?"
Sana gestured back at the constellation of Perseus. "He saved her at the last minute. He used the head of Medusa to turn Cetus to stone."
"There's Pegasus," she traced her finger along invisible lines that connected over thirteen stars in an oddly shaped object. "He sprung from the neck of Medusa when she was beheaded by Perseus."
"That doesn't look anything like a Pegasus," Jun commented.
"That's because he's orientated funny," Sana explained patiently. "Alright, here's a better looking one; Orion. We all know Orion, the hunter. You see those three bright stars in a row?" He said he did. "That's Orion's belt. Those five other stars make up one of his arms. And if you look really hard you can see in his other arm a line of stars in a curve that forms his bow."
It took a while for Sana to help Jun work out the constellation. "Ah~ okay, I'll acknowledge that one," he said. There was a pause, then, "Enough about the stars..." He hugged Sana closer to him. "D'you wanna see my chocolate abs?"
"Yah!" Sana exclaimed, slapping his chest. He giggled playfully then rolled Sana onto her back and hovered over her.
Her smile wavered as she gazed into his eyes. He lowered himself down and their lips met again.
Sana could feel his warm body against hers as she kissed him back. He pulled away, then dropped down on her. Sana felt some of the air in her lungs escape through her mouth.
"ARGH!" she yelled. "Wen Junhui you are HEAVY!" Jun giggled again, then rolled them over so Sana was on top of him. But he didn't stop. He kept on rolling, and soon they were rolling down the slight slope to the flat stretch below, their excited shouts carried away in the wind.
They were both laughing by the time they'd reached the flat ground and Jun let go of her to try and stand up. He tottered around for a second, his head still spinning slightly, then helped Sana up. She was still laughing. She turned him around so his back was facing her and leapt onto his back.
"Carry me back up," she commanded him. Then she added, "please" when he still didn't move. He smiled and carried her back to their stargazing spot.
"We should get going; it's late now." Jun said. They took their time to pack up, playing around in between, then headed backhome.
A/N
I know it's a cringey short chapter, but I'm trying to work on some better ones.
If you're having a bad day, go and watch Going Seventeen's newest episode: Mousebusters
(Yes it is as ridiculous as it sounds)
Seriously tho, I'm so proud of our boys :') They're literally turning GoSe into a whole sitcom or like a variety series!!
I love them soooooo much...I love my readers too!! Always praying for y'all and thank you for reading my fanfic even though it kinda sucks...
