Chapter 36

...A few days later...

Gene's Mom drives me to the doctors office, I get out of the car and walk inside with Gene's Mom behind me. She checks me in, I sit down in the waiting room when Travis walks through the door. I smile and stand up, I hug him and he hugs back. Gene's Mom walks over, she gives him a sorta "who the hell are you" face. I let go of Travis and turn to Gene's Mom and said, "this is Travis, the baby daddy." She looks at me then back at Travis."At least you love each other and this wasn't a 'father leaves mother to fend for herself and their child' sorta deal, is it?" She looks at Travis crossing her arms."No, ma'am." He shakes his head."Yeah, we love each other ." I smile at Gene's mother.

Soon the people at the desk call my name and I'm shown to a small room. She tells me to sit on the table and I do, she asks me a few questions such as; "how long have you been pregnant?" And "do you know the baby's father?" I answer all her questions the best I could. After some time of asking questions, she tells me thank you and leaves the room.

Around 5 minutes later a doctor walks in and gives my a warm smile, he walks over to me and tells me. "Hello, miss (Y/N). I'm doctor Shart, we are going to Make sure everything is okay for your child." He smiles, I just nod.

...After the check up...

"Okay (Y/N), the child is fine and everything seems to be doing fine. You should expect a baby bump around 12 to 16 weeks from now, okay?" He smiles again."Okay." I say back remembering about the stupid "baby bump", he tells me I can leave and I gladly leave with the doctor behind me.

I walk over to Travis and stand next to him, the doctor smiles and says, "so, I assume your the father." He tells Travis, Travis just nods. He wraps his arms around my waist carefully, the doctor just says everything is fine and to see a baby bump in the next 12 to 16 weeks. I look up at Travis and there is a small smile on his face, his just tells me he was so happy for this.

We all leave and Travis walks home as I get into the car with Gene's mom, I wave to him and we leave the parking lot and go home.
