Is It The End?

20:05, 8 January 2022

"Hyung, please tell me where you are. I can't stay away from you!"- I sent the hundredth voice note of the week. He didn't reply. I dialled his number again. That same, monotonous female voice! Aah! I looked at the chit again.  It said, "I feel guilty, hurt and sad. I can't be with you in this state. You deserve happiness, Jungkook. I can only bring you pain. I don't want you to look at me someday and think of your parents death. I love you. Goodbye."Hyung! How can you be so cruel? How could you take yourself away from me? I grabbed the glass of whiskey and chugged down the liquor. "Stop drinking, Jungkook. You will die at this rate."- Jimin said in a worried tone. "I better die then. I won't be able to live without him anyways. His manager doesn't know where he is. You, his bestfriend, don't know where he is. Where should I go, hyung? What am I supposed to do?" - I hid my face in between my palms. I felt so helpless for the first time in my life. Yoongi patted on my shoulder as his eyes shifted to his boyfriend, "if you know something, then tell him.""B...but I have promised taetae...."- Jimin hesitated. "You knew all along, didn't you, Park Jimin?" - I raised my voice as I gritted my teeth. "Hey,hey, easy there, Jungkook!"- Yoongi tried to clutch my arm but I pushed his hand away. "I...I am sorry, Jimin hyung! Please please help me."- I crumbled down in front of Jimin. He hastily sprang up from his chair and held me in his arms. "He must have gone to Pohang-si. I heard, his family had a house near the sea but..."- Jimin gave it a pause as he looked outside. The grey clouds were hovering over the city for last three days. "The weather forecast says the weather will be bad for the next few days. It's not safe for you to go out, Jungkook. It's dangerous."- Yoongi helped me to stand up and brought a glass of water. "I can't live on like this. I need to see him. Hyung, please! Do something. Bring him here. It hurts! It hurts!" - I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. "What should we do, hyung?" - Yoongi was asked by his worried boyfriend. "We'll see."- Yoongi replied and with Jimin's help laid me on the bed. My hand unconsciously searched for Taehyung's body. I grabbed the pillow that still had the faint scent of his shampoo. Tears were rolling down my eyes and those teardrops felt burning hot on my skin. All I needed was him. Kim Taehyung. My Taehyungie hyungie hyung!

I woke up in the midnight. The silence shrouded around the house was mocking at me. I found Yoongi's text on my phone. "The hangover soup is on the fridge. Warm it up before eating." Hah! All talk about being indifferent! I came downstairs and warmed the soup up. I checked my phone once again. Not phonecall not a single reply from Kim Taehyung. It was drizzling outside. I finished the soup and grabbed my car keys.

That's it. I am coming to take you back, kim Taehyung. You have been doing whatever you feel like. But not anymore!

I hit the highway that leads towards Pohang-si. It takes almost 4 hours, so by the morning I would be able to see his face. As I remembered his face, the churning sensation on my chest increased. I grabbed my chest for a while and kept driving. The drizzle gradually transformed into shower. I parked the car in a corner and waited inside. But the rain continued. I looked at the watch. It's almost 2 am now. No! I need to rush.

The windshield was on but nothing was visible. As if the clouds were bursting one by one. But nothing nothing can stop me now, hyung! Not even death! Not until I embrace you in my arms.

I was so absorbed in his thoughts and with the downpouring outside, I could not hear the loud honking of a truck that was coming from the opposite direction. When I noticed the bright headlight , it was already late.

My car was flung to a side and hit a tree. My head banged against the steering.

No! I need to go to hyung! Something wet was dripping down my head. I touched my head. My hand was red in blood.

Is this the end then? Am I dying ? My phone was almost shattered. I speed dialled his number. Still switched off!

Hyung, you won't be able to see me again. I could hear a loud bang on the car window and a faint screaming. Sound of faraway sirens were fading away in the heavy noise of the rain.

I slowly closed my eyes and the world was dark again.
