A Night by the Seashore

"eh..What are you doing?"- i said to Jungkook in  a surprised tone.

Jungkook gave me a warm smile in reply as he finally veiled my eyes with a piece of a black cloth. "Is it something kinky you are trying today?  don't try something funny I am telling you!"- I searched for him with my hands as I spoke.

He laughed in amusement. His clear , ringing laugh.

"Hyung,What do you take me for? Am I an animal or what ? "- he said amicably as he lifted me up in his arms. "Then why am I blindfolded ? Where are you carrying me to?"- I asked breathing in the warm scent of sea. I could hear waves crashing on the shore one after another. I could hear jungkook's harmonical breathing. A night bird just screeched in distance. He let me down somewhere near the shore and tapping on my shoulder he unfolded the veil of my eyes.

I could spot a little tent on the shore with firewoods piling up in front of it. Two chairs were placed beside each other with neatly folded  blankets on them. Two meters from the tent,a table was set with delicious food for dinner and a heart shaped chocolate cake was placed in the centre . I looked up at the clear night sky. The moon was gradually waning but the stars were twinkling brightly above . Coming from behind, Jungkook put his face on my shoulder and cooed in - "Belated happy birthday ,Hyung. I know it's not very big and grand but you have always wanted to spend a night by the shore. So...Do you like it hyung?"

"Yes. I like it very much. Thank you. Thank you." - my voice succumbed to sobs as I replied. I was at loss of words. This guy, he does something sweet like this everytime and I get overwhelmed.

"What ?? Are you crying? Let me see. " - grasping my forearms he turned me towards him and looked at me. His baby like face was beaming with happiness. A tinge of his cologne was mixed up in the air giving me a  churning sensation in my stomach. "Don't flatter yourself. Something must have gone inside my eyes."- I answered slapping on his white sweater clad chest. "Is that so? Lemme see! "- he spread my eye a bit as he  blew in . Our faces were just few centimeters apart. I could smell the minty flavour of his breath. Eyes glued on his plumpy lips, i spoke - "I want to kiss you." He looked at me giggling as he said - "I am all yours. Go on."

I touched his face and pulling him closer planted my lips on his forehead. He closed his eyes as he embraced me in his arms.

After having an exotic dinner , we sat down by the little fire jungkook made. The chilly sea breeze was gushing over the shore leaving the two of us shivering. Jungkook pulled me closer as he clad his blanket around me.

"I wish we could live here forever!" - letting out a sigh, i said.

Tomorrow we are going back to the city. We both will be drowned in work.

"If you want we can stay here for another day, hyung. Let's stay..." - before Jungkook could finish his words, his phone started buzzing. He spared a glance at the phone and his eye brows curled into a frown. Taking the phone in his hand, he walked a little farther away from me.

An uncanny feeling took me over. I suddenly felt like something bad was going to happen. The wine glass fell from my hand on the sand as I looked towards Jungkook's direction.

What's taking him so long?

My phone buzzed and a text from an unknown number flashed on the screen - "Having fun? Don't worry. It won't last."

"What is it?" - Jungkook asked as he leaned back on his chair.

"Huh? Nothing a spam message. Don't worry. " - i replied plastering a smile on my face.

My gut feelings never go wrong. Something's off. Something's really off and Jungkook's frowning forehead is  proving my hypothesis .

"What happened?" - i asked placing my hand over his.

"Huh? Nothing but seems like we can't stay here for one more day. A detective from Kyoto Crime Investigation department just called. Seems like they have found a lead. I am flying to Japan tomorrow. " - he said gulping down the rest of his drink and mulling something over.

At night, while snuggling inside the tent , i placed my head on his chest . It seemed like I couldn't get rid of that uncanny feeling. Being restless , i embraced him in a tight hug as I mumbled - "I am so scared Jungkook-ah. Don't ask me why but I am really scared. Just don't leave me alone."

No reply came from Jungkook. I looked up to find him already asleep. I gently caressed his face and planting a kiss on his lips , i murmured - "I will not let anyone to take you away from me. Even the death can't tear us apart , Jungkook-ah."

Only if I could stop the time then. Only if I could know what was going to happen to us.

A/N - Hey fam , i hope you are doing well. Sorry for updating late. I was buried under debris of studies. But as soon as o could make some time I came running. So I was thinking to finish this story in 5 or 6 chapters. What do you think? Will you miss this story? Lemme know. I love you all. 💜 Stay safe.
