You are the cause of my Euphoria

23:45, 26 September 2025

Krrrrrrringgggg! Krrringggg! The alarm clock shrieked beside my ear, rattling through my skull. A dull ache throbbed across my back as I stirred awake, only to feel the heavy weight of an arm still wrapped around me. Jungkook. His hold was possessive, as if even in his sleep he feared letting me go.

Look at you, I thought, studying his face. Always acting rough and unshakable, yet here you are, clinging to me like the softest child.

Morning light spilled through the sheer linen curtains, scattering across his skin like molten gold. His lashes fanned across his cheeks—long, delicate, impossibly perfect. A smile tugged at my lips as I leaned closer, the urge too strong to resist, and brushed my finger against them.

“Hyung…”

His voice, low and drowsy, vibrated against the silence. My heart skipped.

“Hyung? Am I that handsome that you’re just staring?”

I jolted. “Wh—what! Wh-when did you wake up?” I scrambled upright, but he moved faster, tugging me down until I landed flush against him.

“Let me go. I have work to do—Jungkook-ahh!”

Instead of releasing me, his arms tightened. His chest was solid beneath me, warm, rising and falling steadily as he buried his face near my neck.

“Don’t leave just yet,” he murmured, voice husky with sleep. “I forgot to tell you… I’m leaving today. A conference in Japan. I’ll be back Friday.” His fingers threaded lazily into my hair, stroking my scalp. “Tell me, hyung… will you miss me?”

A knot twisted in my stomach, but I scoffed to mask it. “No! Not at all. I’ll enjoy the peace. Work, go home, get drunk, pass out—I won’t even have time to miss you. And besides, who’d miss a horny rabbit?”

Silence.

Something about the stillness pressed heavy against my chest. Slowly, I turned back. His big, doe-like eyes were open, fixed on me, and for once, they weren’t playful. They were sad—aching.

“Stop sulking, Kookie. I was ki—”

My words vanished as his mouth sealed over mine.

His lips were soft, warm, and insistent, moving with a hunger that stole my breath. His hand slid along my jaw, tilting my face to deepen the kiss, while the other skimmed down my spine, leaving sparks in its wake. My breath stuttered as his tongue brushed against mine, coaxing, savoring, as if he were trying to brand the taste of me into memory.

“Jungkook-ah…” I whispered against his mouth, cupping his face between my palms. His skin was feverish under my touch.

“What?” He pulled back just enough for our foreheads to touch, his breath mingling with mine. “Let me memorize this… the taste of your lips. I won’t get to kiss them for three whole days.”

He pushed me gently onto the mattress, lowering himself until I felt the press of his body against mine—his heartbeat pounding as fiercely as my own. He nuzzled into my chest, his breath hot against my collarbone, and I instinctively threaded my fingers through his silky brown hair, stroking gently.

This man rules the sports apparel world, commands 13000+ employees, headlines—yet here, he clings to me like a desperate boy.

“Jungkook,” I whispered, voice trembling, “why do you love me so much?”

He lifted his head, and his eyes—dark, ocean-deep—locked on mine. They glistened with something raw, something that threatened to undo me.

“Why? I don’t know, hyung.” His voice cracked, then steadied. “But I’m sure I’d die if I couldn’t see you every day. I’d go insane if you stopped caressing my hair like this.” He leaned closer, his lips brushing the corner of my mouth as he whispered, “The once-invincible Jeon Jungkook has a weakness now. Hyung… do you think I’m going crazy, or am I just madly in love with you?”

I swallowed hard, his words wrapping around me tighter than his embrace.

He kissed my forehead, tenderly, reverently. “Call me every night, okay? I’ll come straight to your place when I’m back. Oh—do you want me to bring something for you?”

I smiled, rubbing my nose against his playfully. “Just bring yourself back in one piece. That’ll be the best gift.”

His cheeks flushed pink, and he tugged at his ears—a habit I adored. He always does that when he’s happy.

I slipped out of bed reluctantly, and his gaze followed me.

“Hyung, I’ll make breakfast. You shower first. Then I’ll drop you home.” He stretched, his toned body moving with effortless grace, making my breath catch all over again.

As I reached for a shirt, his voice, lower and teasing now, drifted across the room.

“Hyung… want me to shower with you?”

I threw the nearest book at him and bolted for the bathroom, laughter spilling from my lips. His voice chased after me, soft, playful, wrapping around me like a song I couldn’t escape.

You are the cause of my euphoria…

Inside the bathroom, I pressed a hand to my chest, the echo of his lips still burning on mine.

You are the cause of my euphoria, Jungkook. You always will be.
