Long Day

Me and Chris have been laid up for an hour now. No words have been spoken , but thats fine. Its understandable how he is feeling right now . He lost his older brother and he still havent coped with it, im assuming. If he felt like this all the time he should've told me instead of being bottled up.

"You okay now?" I asked rubbing small circles on his head.

"Yeah , Im fine" He mumbled under his breath.

"I know you dont wanna talk about it. But what happend with Marcus?" I asked softly.

Chris huffed and laid on his back.

"So , Everybody wanted my brother dead . Marcus was making money , and everybody was mad about that. Niggas never wanna see somebody on top." Chris said looking at the ceiling.

"Mhm." I said letting him know im listening.

"So , some niggas killed him while he was at a party . They shot him in the back of his head."

"Aww , babe." I sighed pulling him into my embrace again.

"I was 15 at the time, Travis was 18, and Marcus was 21."

"He was so young." Chris continued.

Rubbing his back in a circular motion, I kissed his forehead.

"Did the guys get caught?" I asked softly.

"Nah , And thats what gets me mad till this day."

"Where did you live before?"

"VA."

"Really? Babe , I didnt know that. Why didnt you tell me?" I asked shocked.

"Because, I didnt wanna talk about that part of my life." He said truthfully.

"What part you lived in?" I asked

"Richmond." He said

"Me too babe!"

"Forreal?" He chuckled

"You where right under my nose, and we aint even know it." I laughed trying to lighten up the mood.

"I know." He sighed

"My po' baby. Just know he looking over you right know saying 'everything is okay'." I said holding him tighter.

"I know , thanks Kay." He said leaving a peck on my neck

"Anytime baby. Ima make you dinner tonight. Okay?"

"You cooking? Palease." Chris said kissing his teeth.

"BOYYYYYY . You trying to throw shots at me. I know how to cook."

"Yeah we'll see." He said cuddling up closer to me and closing his eyes.

"You'll fall more in love with me when you eat my food." Im so surprised I never cooked for him . Im a shitty girlfriend.

"Bet." He mumbled under his breath falling asleep. I kissed his forehead and we both dozed off.

Waking up , I grabbed my phone of the night stand . Checking the time it was 4 pm . Me and Chris slept for four hours. Yawning , I stretched my aching limbs.

Moving Chris off my chest , I got up and went to the living room . I wanted him to rest , He needs it .

Closing his room door quietly , I enterd the living room and turned on the flat screen TV , and turned it to Spongebob Squarepants.

5 minutes into the show , I was getting an incoming call.

"Yooo?" I answerd

"Wassup pimpin'." Nia asked

"Just chillan like a villan , You know me."

"Mannn , Im bored as hell. You wanna smoke?"

"Hell nah . Yall cant smoke!" I heard August in the back .

"Tell him to shutup." I laughed

"But yeah , Do you mind taking me to the store? Im making Chris dinner tonight."

"Yeah sure , I dont mind."

"What time you coming over?" I asked leaning back into the couch

"Ill be over when I get out the shower." She said chewing something in my ear.

"Alright playa , Ill see you in a lil bit."

"Bet." She said and ended the call.

"Sounding like August and shit." I laughed to myself.

45 minutes later , Nia was knocking on the door.

Getting up to answer the door , I opened it and let Nia in.

"Sshh , Chris is sleeping." I said quietly closing the front door.

"Gotchu." She said sitting on the couch taking out a blunt that was rolled already.

Pulling out her lighter , she lit it and took a couple puffs.

"Here." She said passing me it.

"So how yo' day going?" Nia asked getting comfortable on the couch.

"It was intresting." I said after I took a drag and french inhaled the smoke that came out my mouth .

"Really? Why is that?" Nia asked taking the burning blunt from me.

"I met Chris' brother today." I coughed , My mouth dry as hell.

"Chris has a brother? I never knew that." She said shocked and ashing the blunt in the ashtray and then passing it back to me.

"Yeah, that was my reaction too." I said under my breath . My high already kicking in.

"Your eyes are so low." I laughed at Nia .

"Your's are too." Nia laughed as well.

"Nia , Im so high . You dont even know." I laughed

Thats why I love being high with Nia, We be weak off dumb shit.

"Man , But Chrissy has a brother!" Nia gasped and laughed loudly after.

"Right! But shutup! Chris is sleep! Lets got to the store now." I said putting out the doobie.

"Okay , lets go."

Hoping out the car when Nia parked we both enterd food source. I grabbed the cart and went to the vegtable isle.

"I think ima' make spaghetti." I said to myself pushing the cart to the green peppers.

Grabbing one , It accidentally falled out my hand.

"Im so high." I laughed and grabbed another one and put it in a plastic bag.

"So hows work?" I asked Nia while pushing the cart to the meat section.

"Its pretty shitty, They're arent giving me enough hours . Im going to quit if they keep playing with me." She said walking next to me.

"Right , I need to find a job ASAP." I said getting some hamburger for my spaghetti.

Finishing my shopping , I went to the check out line and started to put my items on the belt thingy.

The cashier started ringing up items.

"41.50 is your total." She said

Pulling out to 20 dollar bills , and some change . I handed it to her and she gave me my receipt.

"Thank you , have a good day." I said

"Thanks for bagging." I told Nia

"No problem."

"Kayla?" Somebody spoke from behind me.

"Justin? Long time no see." I smiled turning around and gave him a hug.

"How you been?" He smiled wrapping me up in his arms.

"Ive been good. What about you?"

"Just making money . Im pretty upset we only had one date." He chuckled.

"Ima put these in the car." Nia interrupted.

"Ok." I responded

"Yeah , I know . Im in a relationship now. So thats pretty much why." I chuckled awkwardly

"Its coo ma' . Yo man won't let you have friends?"

"I dont know, Ima see you around tho?"

"Bet ," He said giving me a hug and giving my butt a tight squeeze.

"Oh no , Watch out." I pushed him off me.

"If I want sum', Ima get it. Later baby." He winked and walked off.

"Fucking weirdo." I spoke .

"Dont make me get my fucking boyfriend!" I yelled at him which made him turn around and mug me.

I walked out the sliding doors and made my way towards Nia's car.

"What took you so long?"

"Justin hella weird . Grabbed my butt and some mo' shit."

"Are you serious? You gon' tell Chris?" She said pulling out the parking lot.

"I dont know. Should I? Chris would kill that boy." I said truthfully

"Yeah , You right."

Nia pulled up in Chris apartment complex and parked.

"Thanks baby."

"No problem. Need help with the bags?" She asked

"Nah , I got it." I said grabbing all the bags.

"Love you Nia." I said closing the car door.

"Love you too." She said out the window and drove off.

I walked up the stairs to the front door and knocked , I hoped Chris was up already.

"Hey babe." Chris opened the door for me and took some bags out my hands.

"You sleep okay?" I said setting the bags on the kitchen table.

"Yeah , I needed that."

"I have something to tell you . But I dont want you to act irrational." I said taking the food out of the plastic bags.

"What?"

"But you cant do nothing stupid."

"Kayla fucking tell me." He said starting to get upset.

"Ok ," I said blowing out air through my mouth

"While I was leaving the store , I ran into Justin."

"Whose Justin?" He mugged me.

"Coke boy? At school?"

"Ok , what about him." He grumbled

"He just disrespected me after I told him I had a boyfriend. But I dont want you to do anything."

"What the fuck he do?" Chris gritted . Clearly you can tell he gets angry fast.

"He grabbed my booty , and he was like 'What ever I want , Ima get.'" I said turning on the stove to start cooking the meat.

"Oh word? I got sumn' for that ass just watch." He chuckled

"Its not a big deal , I just wanted to tell you."

"Nah , Fuck that . He know you mines. Everybody does."

"True." I said cutting the green pepper and cooking it with the meat.

"You dont haft to do something stupid though." I said letting him know its not that serious.

"I dont wanna hear it." He shushed me scrolling through his phone.

"Fine." I mumbled

An hour later I was done with my spaghetti . I served Chris a big bowl with a side of garlic bread.

"Dinner is served." I placed his plate down and kissed his cheek.

Sitting down with my plate , I started to dig in.

"This is good babe." Chris said stuffing his face with food.

I laughed. "I told you!"

"Yeah , I got too wife you up for sure now."

"Aww, Thanks chrissy."

After finishing our food , Me and Chris started a movie in the living room.

"Thanks for everything today." Chris spoke lowly.

"Its no problem. Thats my what im here for." I said cuddling closer to him.

"I loveeeee you babyyyyyy." Chris sang.

Laughing , I kissed his lips.

"Loveeeee you moreeeeee." I sang back
