Elena's POV

"I like that cardigan you bought." I say to Gabby as we sit in the food court eating our frozen yogurt. I feed Mia some of mine as she plays with her stuffed teddy.

"I liked it a lot too." She says smiling.

"So how was the carnival yesterday?" I ask.

"It was so much fun, you guys should have stayed. Jamal is so funny and Cesar was very nice and respectful." She gushes. "He didn't let me pay for my ride bracelet and he also paid for my nachos and drink."

"Oh really?" I say raising my eyebrow.

"Yeah. I tried paying him back but he wouldn't let me." She says.

"Seems to me that someone has a little crush on you." I joke.

She ends up blushing as she looks down.

"Oh my god, Gabby!" I gush. "Are you crushing on Cesar?"

"What? No!" She quickly says.

"You Can tell me. I won't say anything to him or Oscar." I say.

"Well," She says. "I think he's really cute and so freaking nice."

"I feel like there's a 'but' coming." I say.

"But I think he's seeing someone already." She frowns.

"Was seeing someone. Not anymore." I say. "She left Freeridge to go live with her mom."

"Oh." She says. "You think I might have a chance?"

"I believe so. Just hang out with him a little more. Talk to him about just random stuff." I say.

"He gave me his number, he texted me earlier." She says.

"You see, there you go." I say. "Baby steps."

"How about you and Oscar? Are you guys together?" She asks.

"Girl, I don't know." I honestly say. "He hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend, so I'm just going along to whatever this is."

"Do you want to be his girlfriend?" She asks.

"At first, I didn't." I say. "But he seems to be more distant from the gang that it's actually making me want something with him."

"I hope you guys get together." She says. "I think you two are really cute.

I smile at her as we continue to eat our frozen treat.
