Episode 7
16:37, 19 October 2024TAEHYUNG POV
"He's probably stalking you." I tease.
"Give it a rest Tae, he's harmless." She replies.
I lean against the desk in front of her. "Isn't there just the slightest thought that he set it up? I mean, he knows about our entire situation and I feel like he doesn't want me around. He wants to be the hero."
Jing Li sighs and runs her fingers through her hair. "Tae, listen to me. Xingwei has no reason to set that up and he never speaks to Aera. This is a fake relationship so I don't understand why you're being so worked up."
"I'm not getting worked up."
"Yes you are."
"I just don't want things happening to you, that's all."
"Like I said, he's harmless."
I nod. Maybe she's right. I've just had a bad feeling about him since he started here last week. He acts like he wants the best for her but my gut says otherwise.
"I'll be right back, okay? I need to go find someone."
I walk out of the classroom, feeling bad leaving Jing Li on her own but I need to do this. She did always tell me though that she prefers to be alone so she doesn't get into trouble but I highly doubt that.
After searching around the school hallways for a while, I realise I'm looking in the wrong place. I turn around and jog down the hallways and out the doors, making my way to the back of the school.
When I see smoke, I know I'm in the right place.
"Jimin! You fucking idiot!" I shout, approaching him.
He drops his cigarette on the floor. "What did I do?" he shouts back. "You made me waste a bud!"
I keep approaching him and he can see the anger in my face, he backs up until he hits the wall. His eyes widen and he closes his eyes, waiting for a blow.
"You fucking called it you son of a bitch."
His eyes open. "Called what?"
"Jing Li." He continues to look at me confused. "You said I would fall for her."
Jimin laughs. "You fell in love with her already, huh?"
"I don't know, maybe." I step back from him and turn away.
"Have you even been in love?" Jungkook asks, sitting against the back wall.
I look up to the sky and sigh. "Of course I haven't. I have no idea what it feels like."
"Do you get butterflies when she's around?"
"Yes."
"Do you feel jealous when other boys talk to her?"
"I guess."
"Do you want to kiss her?"
I look at Jimin with wide eyes. "Excuse me?"
"It's a simple question dude. Do you want to kiss her?"
My mind blanks at the thought. I've never really thought about kissing her but now all I can think about is kissing her. Her lips look so soft. Now all I wanna do is run my hand across her cheek, slide her hair out of her face, tuck it behind her ear and kiss her gently.
Fuck sake Jimin.
"Yes..." I mumble.
Jimin raises and eyebrow. "Did you say yes?"
I push him. "I said yes!"
The boys laugh at me and I feel my face turn bright red.
Namjoon walks up to me and places a hand on my shoulder. "You're in love with her Tae. You need to rid of the competition."
"Competition?" I ask.
"Yeah. Xingwei?" He replies.
I mentally facepalm. Xingwei may be harmless to her but he's harmful to me. I need her to be mine so I need to make sure he knows that.
Instead of saying another word, I turn around and enter the school to find him. It doesn't take long as I spot him leaving the cafeteria. "Xingwei!" I shout. He turns around and looks at me. "Roof. Now."
Xingwei follows me up to the roof, keeping distance behind me. Once on the roof, he stands facing me but I keep my back to him.
"Taehyung? What's wrong?" He asks.
I turn around to face him. "Stay away from her."
"Stay away from who? Aera?"
"Jing Li."
He chuckles and it pisses me off. "I'm not staying away from her. I'm her best friend and I have known her a whole lot longer than you."
"She's mine." I state. My hands turn into balls at the side of me. Keep your cool Tae.
"I hate to tell you dude but Jing Li doesn't belong to you."
"I didn't say she belongs to me but I'm going to make her mine."
Xingwei's eyes widen at the realisation. "You like her don't you? Oh, it makes sense now! You think I'm a threat, don't you?"
I don't say anything.
"Oh Tae. Can I call you that? Well, we have a past and I guarantee that she still has feelings for me. Why would she even like a guy like you? You're only using her to get back at your ex. She's out of your league."
That's all it takes.
I see red.
I lunge at him and punch his face. After he wipes his bloody lip, he looks up at me. "Oh, you didn't just do that, did you?"
Xingwei swings at me and I fall to the floor. He straddles over me, punching my face over and over. I reach my hands up and wrap them around his neck. He struggles to breath and I throw him off me.
He coughs, trying to get his breath. I climb on top of him and lift my fist up to punch him.
"Taehyung! Stop it!"
Xingwei pushes me off of him and slams my body into the concrete wall, his hands pressed into my shoulders.
"Stop it both of you!" I can hear her voice.
The pressure builds on my shoulder and I scream out in pain. Xingwei is pushed off and I drop to the floor.
"You promised this would stop Tae." I can hear the pain in Jing Li's voice and it breaks me.
I want to reply back her and apologise but the pain is too much. Xingwei had dug his fingers into the gunshot wound. It felt like I had been shot all over again.
"And Xingwei? What the hell are you thinking? I can see the blood on Tae's face."
He scoffs. "You punch me, I punch back."
"You must have done or said something to make him punch you because he promised me that he wouldn't do anything like this."
"Jing Li..." I mumble, trying to get her attention.
She carries on laying into Xingwei.
"Jing Li..." I try again.
Eventually she looks over and notices the blood on my white shirt and my hand. "Oh my god! Tae!"
She runs over and presses my hand back on the wound. I can see her lips moving but I can't hear anything. I close my eyes and everything is gone.
