Chapter 19: 𝐼𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢

Quick thing, happy early birthday Eren, I know his birthday is in two days but I couldn't wait to publish this lol🙂____________________________𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

I slowly opened my eyelids to the sounds of birds chirping outside my window. I slowly got up and sat down at my desk infront of my window. I admired the topography. It was pleasurable. The vivid snow glistening in the sun, the bare trees, the sun emitting light.I looked around for that particular bench I would always see for some reason but it was no where to be found. I cocked my eyebrow, I picked up my bookbag and pulled out the book I got from the library that had that one illustration. I opened the book and this time the picture was clearer and the girl.. the girl's head was turned sideways looking at the boy. The girl looked, just like me, we we're identical, the exact same person if you could say. I was in a state of turmoil.

𝐷𝑖𝑑 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑎 𝑝𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑒?

𝑊ℎ𝑜'𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑜𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ?

𝐼𝑠 𝑖𝑡 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝐼 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤?

My thoughts we're interrupted by the sound of my alarm going off. I slightly groaned and got up from my chair and lazily walked over to my bedside table. It was 7:00 am and.. it was March 30th. Eren and Vera's birthday.I recalled my phone call with Eren the other day, I kinda felt bad knowing that this is Eren's 18th birthday. He's becoming an adult and I'm not gonna be there for him.

I sighed and shook the thought out of my head. I have a date and Eren has many more birthdays to celebrate and I promise I'll be there for the rest of his birthdays.

I quickly made my bed and walked over to my bathroom. I was still a bit sleepy so I ended up bumping into my bathroom door, head first. I groaned and rubbed my head before turning the doorknob.

I entered my bathroom, took an elastic band and pulled my hair into a low ponytail. My hair was getting quite long, I was thinking of cutting it, I'm not sure if Daniel would like my hair short though. I finished brushing my teeth and stripped off my clothes and entered the shower.

~𝐴𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑛𝑗𝑜𝑦𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑐𝑘 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟~

I got out of the shower and wrapped my towel around my bare body. I walked over to my closet and pulled out an off-white short-sleeved shirt and a loose black dress that reached up to my knees with a straps.

Even though today was Tuesday, there was no school today because Levi received in email from my principal making it clear that Tuesday was a no school day, so I got all the time I need to get ready for my date which was at 6:30 pm.

I didn't feel like changing into my dress just yet so I pulled out a random panda onesie I got like a few months ago. I wore it on and looked in my mirror which reflected my whole body. I had a piece of my hair between my fingers, I kept twirling it around still staring at my reflection until I decided to give my hair a cut.

I grabbed some scissors I had in my desk drawer and walked into my bathroom. I started cutting my hair, seeing the pieces of my hair descend. I kept cutting until I found a hairstyle that fitted me most. It was a short bob that ended at my chin. It was cute and I kinda liked it better than my long messy hair.

I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen and saw Levi on the couch with his laptop, being my nosy self, I walked around the island so I could get behind Levi to see what he was doing. My jaw almost dropped at what I saw.

Levi was..was buying a diamond ring.....

"𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐈!"-I yelled

Levi's head jerked up and he sat up right and looked at me with a confused face. He looked at his laptop, then back at me, then back to the laptop then back to me.

He sighed and got up.

"𝐘𝐞𝐬.. 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢 𝐚 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮."-Levi said with a glare but I wasn't fazed one bit.

I slowly walked over to him and before he coukd ask anything I hugged him, I could tell he was taken aback.

"𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐢, 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐦, 𝐈-𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞, 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬."-I said hugging him tighter.

Levi slowly started to hug me back aswell.

"𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞."-Levi said

We kept hugging for what felt like forever so I broke it up and gave Levi a small kind smile.

His eyes widened but returned back to normal and he said.

"𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐨."-Levi said and patted my head.

"𝐈'𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫, 𝐛𝐲𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐝."-Levi said and grabbed the keys and headed out.

I went to the kitchen and started making my breakfast. I finished preparing my breakfast. I had made eggs and toast with green tea.

I sat down at the breakfast table and started eating while watching Violet Evergarden on the big screen tv. After that I decided to catch up on some school work.

~𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~

It was around 6:20 pm and Daniel was gonna pick me up at 6:30 pm so I rushed upstairs. Eren and Vera's party would've started by now and here I was getting ready for a date instead of being with my friends.

I took off my onesie and wore my outfit I had laid out on my bed. After I dressed up, I went to the bathroom and combed my hair a bit before applying a tiny bit of mascara. I don't wear makeup, the least I'd do is put on mascara, that's it.

I looked at my reflection in my mirror, It's been a while since I last wore a dress so I kinda liked it.

I heard a knock at my door so I went downstairs and opened it to see Daniel in a tuxedo and his car parked behind him.

"𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨?"-Daniel asked me with a smirk

I nodded and we walked over to his car and we got in and he started driving.We soon arrived at our designated destination. It was a plain field of grass and there was a blanket on the ground with a bunch of food. I'm guessing this is a picnic. I sat down first then he did and then we started eating.

~𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~

It was around 7:30 pm and all we've been doing was eating and talking this entire time but throughout this entire date, I have been having this uneasy feeling, I tried brushing it off but it kept coming back.

"𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞?"-Daniel asked me

He put on some music and helped me up. It was a slow song so of course we we're slow dancing.

We kept dancing until I started feeling guilty. Something about Daniel and I dating wasn't right. I started crying on his shoulder, his suit shirt started getting wet and he pulled me off him and he looked at me with concern in his eyes. I kept crying and snifling while looking down at the thin grass.

"𝐈-𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲.. 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞."-I said between sniffs.

I looked up at him and he looked down in disappointment.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"- He said with a sad smile

I shook my head a bit. He sighed and spoke up again.

"𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚, 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝... 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧."

I kept looking down, I admit it, and I've been too clueless to understand that.

"𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐭, 𝐈 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐦."

Daniel kept looking at me and then he grabbed my hands and pulled me closer until our lips touched. Knowing that this would be our last kiss, I cherished it. The kiss lasted for only a couple seconds until Daniel broke it.

"𝐆𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐮𝐲"-Daniel said and gave me a hug and whispered in my ear.

"𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮."-He broke the hug aswell

"𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥, 𝐈 𝐮𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡? 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐨 𝐈.."-I was a bit embarrassed.

Daniel chuckled and smiled nodding his head.

We got in his car and drove to the indoor beach, the indoor beach was almost empty except for a few people cleaning up the tables that I'm guessing we're used for Eren's birthday and a guy sitting on a bench, it was Eren.

"𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥."-I said

"𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐮𝐡𝐦, 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬?"-Daniel asked me turning his head in my direction.

I nodded

"𝐘𝐞𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬."-And with that I stepped out of his car, closing the door and watched him drive off.

I took off my sandals and and entered the indoor beach started walking towards the bench, I felt the sand between my toes and I walked over. Eren got up and started walking away not even acknowledging that I was there, I started to pick up my pace and I ran towards him. I guess he heard the sand shift under my feet so he turned his head and his eyes widened. I ran up to him and before he said anything I hugged him. He started to hug me back which I gladly accepted. He pulled me off him and looked into my eyes as I looked into his soft viridescent eyes.

"𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚... 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐦 𝐈 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"

I thought for a moment and I started to tear up, this was my chance, I couldn't screw it up.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞... 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐲.."

He looked down and started to walk away until I grab his sleeve and pulled him closer to me which made out lips meet. I was on my tiptoes because Eren had definitely grew in height. I kept kissing him and he kissed me back even harder until he broke it up.

"𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚.."

"𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞, 𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐨, 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧-"

I was cut off by Eren's lips, he grabbed my waist, lifiting me up the ground, he spun me around in the air before putting me down.

"𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞.."-I started but Eren finished

"𝐘𝐞𝐚, 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫."-He said before hugging me again.

~𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~

It was 10 o'clock, late at night. Eren and I we're sitting on the bench he was recently sitting at alone. I was looking at the ocean, the calm indoor sea water that reflected the night sky, there was a huge glass roof above us, the water glistening due to the vivid stars and bright moon, one of the only sources of light we had at night. I looked at the window and in the distance, I saw the bench I always see for some reason. This time the bench was facing us... so we're the people. The girl was facing me.. she was me, and the boy was facing Eren, he was Eren but I guess they we're our older selves. They we're in the same position as us, although they we're far away I could still see them, so this is what it was, those people I would see every now and then we're just future selves of Eren and I. I smiled, although I may be hallucinating.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"-Eren said still looking in the distance while smiling.So Eren could see it too?

Was this a sort of meaning? Whatever it was, I was sure it was just a confirmation that Eren and I we're meant to be all along. I smiled wider this time as the bench and future selves disappeared, I turned to Eren and he turned to me. We kept staring at each other until Eren cupped my face and leaned in, closing the gap between us. He broke the kiss and I leaned on his shoulder, slowly falling asleep in the right place with right person.𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧.
