Chapter 11

Joey's POV

2 hours later...

 "Rach, dinner's ready!" Rach pops her head out the door. "I'll be out in a minute." The door closes and opens again. "I hope you like steak with a side of mac and cheese. She smiles. "That sounds amazing. I love mac and cheese and I haven't a good steak in months." I watch her take a bite of the steak. "Oh my gosh Joey this is amazing. I'm so lucky to have a guy who's such a great cook." I laugh. "I'm glad you like it. I thought you could use a treat after such a hard day."

   Rach gets up and wraps her arms around me. "Thank you for being so wonderful. I'm blessed to have you Joey." I kiss her forehead. "If anything Rach, I'm the one who's blessed to have you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't ever want to lose you to Ross or anyone." She smirks. "Guess what Joey, you're not going to. You're stuck with the mess that is me." 

   "First of all Rach, you're not a mess. Second of all, whatever either one of us experiences, we go through it together. You're never going to be alone ever again Rach. You're never going to get hurt by anyone ever again. I won't let it happen. Okay?" She nods into my shoulder. "Okay good." 

  We stay in our embrace for a little while and enjoy the silence. The silence isn't a bad one, but rather a peaceful one. It's the kind of silence that makes you realize all of the great things you have in life and how beautiful the world can be.
