Chapter 5: Again?
12:52, 23 November 2013Pixie pulled on her jumper as Dom and the others came out. “We’re not letting you go alone” Dom explained. “Family helps looks out for each other”.
“I wish that was the case with me and Brian” Pixie whispered. “You know you don’t have to come with me”.
“Brian may be your brother by blood but who do you feel is your brother/ brothers?” Dom asked.
“You, Vince, Leon and Jesse” Pixie answered. “And my sisters would be Letty and Mia”.
“Ha, I don’t think Letty will agree” Vince shrugged.
“Brian’s a cop” she announced. “He’s been undercover since we let him in”.
“We already know” Dom sighed. “He slipped up when you were in Juvi”.
“I knew he would slip up” Pixie smirked. “But I have a feeling he’s gonna sell me out”.
“What do you mean?” Leon frowned. “Unless you mean that he’s gonna tell your father that you’re here?”
“That’s exactly what I’m thinking” she nodded. “That’s why I’m leaving LA once we’ve given the car to Kakata”.
“Where would you go?” Jesse asked. “I mean, you’re wanted in six Juvi centres in twelve states?”
“I have an Aunty in Dallas” Pixie answered. “It’s the one place I’m safe and I’m not wanted there”.
“Call every now and then, ok?” Vince asked. “We would like to make sure you’re alright so we don’t have to come there ourselves to make sure”.
“Don’t worry, I’ll call” Pixie nodded smiling. “Or I might send you a present in the form of a new car or parts”.
“Come on, let’s get this car and get you home” Dom explained.
Pixie nodded and put on her helmet and pushed down her visor making her head look like a big black bauble.
They followed the teenager to the shipping yard. Of all the places to hide a car; this place would have to be the best place but also anyone could try and break the chain of the Container where Pixie had hidden the car.
Luckily the container wasn’t the one of the ones already stacked and ready to go. She took out a necklace and attached to it was a gold key for the padlock with 40mm thick steel chain through it.
“You were thorough” Dom scoffed though he was secretly pleased. “That’s thick chain, can you move it?”
Pixie smirked and unlocked the padlock and with the chain she picked it up and twirled it around as if it were a ribbon.
“Dude, I’m that much of a weakling” she smiled flicking on the head light of her bike to reveal a built from scratch Jaguar hybrid.
“Holy Fuck, Dom got you to steal that!” Letty shrieked.
“Yep, it was pretty easy actually” Pixie laughed. “It was left outside where they were broadcasting the show and Ben picked the lock and found a set of spare keys for it” as she held up the keys from the freezer.
“That is smart” Leon asked.
“Come on, I’ve already told Kakata I’ve got something he might like and he wants us to meet him near the baseball pitch” Pixie sighed. “Could youse take my bike, I need to take the car”.
“Sure, we’ll be right behind you” Dom nodded.
Pixie smiled and loaded her bike into Leon’s Ute and she got into the Jag. They showed up just on time to see Kakata and his gang waiting.
“So, Pixie, what have you got for us?” He smiled walking up to the teenager.
“This car is just off the line and stolen from James May” Pixie explained. “The Cops found the others and took them apart and sold the parts for scrap”.
“This is much better” Kakata amended. “This is worth 5.4 million and lucky for us, we’ve got it with us”.
One of the men chucked over a brief case and Pixie opened it and he was right 5.4 million in cash. In return Pixie threw the spare keys to him.
“Thanks for paying up” Kakata smiled driving off.
“That was easier than I thought” Pixie sighed. “Now let’s go home”.
Suddenly police sirens blared and Brian stepped out of the first car and then a dark brown haired man also got out of the car.
Pixie gulped and ran to her bike and then saw the tracker, slowly she turned to Brian “You should’ve left when I found out that you were a cop” she hissed. “You’ve brought Dad into this”.
“I had to, you are too young to be in this life” Brian sighed.
“He’s the reason why I am!” Pixie shrieked pointing at her father. “Don’t you see I’ve got family”.
“All we want is Pixie” Adam sighed. “We’ll pardon all charges if you give her to us”.
“I’d rather be shot than go with you!” Pixie cried. “I’m not leaving”.
“You don’t have a choice” Brian replied and a police officer came up behind Pixie grabbing her arms and pinning them behind her back. More cops came to stop Dom and the gang from trying to get Pixie.
She was dragged to her father as hand-cuffs were secured to her wrists. “Come on, Pixie time to go home” Adam smiled.
Dom and Pixie shared a look of fear, regret and longing as she was pushing into the car.
“I’m sorry” Brian announced. “But she’s my sister not yours”.
“You just sent your 14 year old sister to more abuse!” Letty snapped. “Haven’t you wondered why she wasn’t in her assigned foster care?”
“I have wondered but I thought she was living with Dad but now I know” Brian replied. “Eight years she’s been with youse and you dragged her into the one life we never wanted for her”.
“If you didn’t want this life her you should’ve left in the first place” Dom added. “You get outta town and don’t come back or when Pixie comes back I won’t hesitate to let her shoot you”.
Brian shrugged his shoulders and slid into the passenger seat of the police car and Adam drove off with Pixie screaming in the back seat.
