I STAND IN front of my manager, holding my breath. He looks me over with concern. Eyes fixated, mostly on my neck. It looked worse today than last night.
"I'm really sorry that this happened to you, Y/N. You're one of our best workers . . I thought if anybody could fix this, it would be you." He says with a sigh. "Clearly, he's after you now, as well."
I nod, pressing my lips together with stress. "And that's what I wanted to talk to you about, sir. This is me saying, I'm putting my two weeks in." I sigh.
His eyes widen a bit, brows knitting together. "What?"
"I'm working down in the dining room until then. I'm sorry. But, I-I just can't do this anymore." Tears brim my eyes again. I wish I would just stop crying. But I haven't stopped since last night. My body was stressed, emotionally and physically. It's a natural response.
There's a brief silence between us. He straightens out his suit, and clears his throat. "I see . ."
I look down at my feet for a moment.
"Is there anything I can do, to get you to stay?" He asks. I shake my head. "I don't think so. I'm really sorry, I didn't want to have to do this. I really liked my job . . jobs." An emptiness fills my chest. "But, yeah." My voice starts wobbling again.
I'll never see Sun or Moon again.
That feeling sits there in my chest, heavily. Sinking in.
I suppose I could always visit, once things settle down. But it just wouldn't be the same.
"Well, you know, I gotta say- I'm really sorry to see you go . . We're losing a great worker. You were more than just a worker, though. You really took the time to make quality connections with all of the animatronics here. Even though you mostly stayed around the daycare attendant, I knew all the others liked you."
I think back about Chica wanting to kill me. She definitely didn't like me. Though, it was the virus causing her to do that, too. But, regardless, I accepted his speech? anyway.
"Thank you. I tried my best to be good to them." I frown.
"That was more than anybody else did. Except for Elizabeth. I know she does great work here too." He added on.
I nod again. "Yeah, she's great. If you could, actually, can you maybe give her any of my positions? I know she'd love it." He smiles a little. "You know what, I think that's a great idea."
He leads me out of the office, and gives me a small wave. "Finish your night shift tonight, and I'll have you working down in the diner again, until your week is up."
"Sounds good." I tell him.
"You're welcome back anytime you want. Free of charge." He gives me a pat on the shoulder.

I just quit my job.
I stand outside of the daycare doors, heart pounding in my chest. I can't even believe that I did this. I'm really gonna leave them?
Am I making a mistake, quitting?
Then, I think about it; mind running back and forth. Things at my job are trying to kill me . . Maybe it's for the best that I'm leaving.
I look at the doors to the daycare and take in a deep breath. Thankfully, it's after hours, so no other kids were lingering around, and most of our staff had gone home for the night. Not too many human staff were left, anymore, either. I've heard some rumors about multiple people quitting; due to the same reasons as me, I was assuming. Management liked to cover that up, though.
As I get ready to walk into the daycare, courage mustered up, Vanessa flashes her light at me. I look over my shoulder and smile. "Y/N, hey. How are you feeling?" She asks.
I shrug. "I put my two weeks in. Body kinda hurts, but I'm fine."
I most definitely am not fine.
She frowns. "Oh . . I'm so sorry."
"It's okay." I offer her a smile, though my mind was well aware that I was lying.
"Well . . I just wanted to tell you, remember last night, how I heard about some boy was roaming around outside? Well, he's inside the building now, running around the place!" She glared. I furrow my brows. "Huh?"
"Yeah! Little shit. He's gonna get himself hurt. So if you see him, call me. I'll be on my Fazwatch to keep an eye out. I am NOT in a good mood tonight." Vanessa grimaces.
"Okay, yeah. I'll let you know if I find him." I tell her.
"Thanks. Oh, and be careful. I'm just a shout away if you need me." Vanessa points to the daycare doors. I nod, hesitantly, and offer another smile. "Thanks."
She walks away, and I sigh inwardly at the door. Should I go in? Should I maybe . . not?
After fighting with myself, I push it open, and walk in. The lights were still on, and the music was playing overhead on the speakers. I cringe at it.
I take a look around, and keep an eye out for Sun. He had to be around here somewhere . .
"Sun?" I call out. "If you're in here . . I need to talk to you."
Nothing. The music still plays, but it's uncomfortably quiet inside the daycare without the sounds of Sun rummaging around.
A frown situated on my face. "I'm really sorry for what I said last night. I was in a panic." I drop my arms.
Was I just talking to myself out here?
Maybe he was ignoring me. Or, up in his cluttered room, peering down at me. My mouth slants into a crooked frown.
I sit down at the security desk, slowly, with a soft thump into the chair, and rest my head in my arms. It was emotionally exhausting. This entire place was.
I don't know how to feel, or even what to do. For once, I'm stuck.
I just felt like I needed to cry. Besides, my neck and face hurt like hell, and that was enough of an excuse to cry.
I sniffle my nose, letting out a shaky sigh.
"Y/N?" Sun asks. He creeps up to the desk, and looks over it to see me with my head buried into my arms. I snivel, lifting my head up.
He looks like he wants to come behind the desk, but doesn't. He stays leaning over the edge with a tilted head, curiosity smudged into his faceplate. "Are you okay?" I cringe up at him. My sleeve comes up and wipes away the corners of my watery vision.
Soon enough, his eyes widen at my appearance, the bruises and gashes on my skin. He flinches backwards. "Y-Y/N, did . . did we do that?" His hand reaches outward, slowly, tweaking a little as it softly grazes my skin. I flinch at the soreness. Sun pulls his hand back.
I didn't want to say yes. I know it would kill him if I did. But, it was the truth. And sometimes, the truth hurts.
"Yeah."
His body lunges over the desk, and he wraps his arms around me. I flinch, gasping.
"I'm so sorry! I don't know how to make it up to you, but I need you to forgive me!" He wails through his faceplate.
"Sun," I mumble in his arms, face squished.
He grabs his head, earning a little retraction from his rays. "This was all my fault! I knew I should have made you keep the lights on. Or at least have somebody in here with yโ"
"Sun!" I yank away from his grasp. "I'm leaving!"
". . What?" He deadpans.
"I put my two weeks in today. So . . y'know, you guys won't be seeing me anymore." I trail off, looking down at the floor. Sun stares down at me, stuck in a confusion. "You're leaving us?!" I start to speak, but he cuts me off. "How could you!"
I frown a bit. "Moon's been trying to kill me! I have no choice!" I shout back at him. "Plus, so are the others, here. Half the staff left, already."
His hand grips my wrist, and I look down at it. There's a small feeling of suffocation rising up in my chest. "Please don't leave - - you're all we have here!" Sun grows more anxious, and I frown.
"Do you think I want to do this?" I ask, "I haven't stopped crying, since fucking yesterday, when I left you here! I don't want to leave either of you." I stop myself from saying anything else. His hand removes itself from me. I use my sleeve to wipe my eyes again. Sniveling, I cringe a bit at the words that come out of my mouth. "I love you guys."
"We love you too, Y/N."
There's a silence lingering in the space between us. We both sort of just . . idle there, in a trapped standstill.ย
I look away, breaking the tension. "I should get going." He frowns. "I have to bring parts into Freddy's room, before my manager gets mad."
I figured just leaving would make things less hard for the both of us. Turns out I was wrong. Sun didn't like that. "You're just going to leave me, after telling me you quit?!" He growls.
"If I could, I'd take away all the viruses from your system. But I can't. It's just something too strong for our programs. It's really dangerous to be in here with you, Sunny." I grab his arm. He glanced down to my hand, then looks back up to me. "I really hope you realize, that I don't wanna do this."
Sun looks down and lets out a metallic sigh. "I understand, Gumdrop."
I want to hug him. So, I do.
The lights were on, and they shouldn't go out. Everything will be totally fine, I tell myself.
Maybe Moon will even get fixed in the future! Then I can come back, and visit as much as I want.
"I won't delete your guest profile." He tells me. I find myself smiling through more tears. "You better not." I sigh, "I don't want to do this." My voice mumbles down at the floor. I hug him tighter. "I don't want to leave you." More tears flood my cheeks. Sun frowns down at me, petting my head. "I don't want you to go, either. But . . if it's what's best, then, maybe you should." He lets out a metallic sigh. I cry harder into his chest plate.
"Aw- - I hate seeing you cry." Sun pouts. "Please don't," his hand makes its way to my face, caressing his thumb over my cheek. I frown up at him, inhaling a sharp breath. "I'm trying not to," but I break down into tears again. "But, like, what if I never get to see you again?"
He frowns, not answering. Instead, he just keeps a hand on my back to comfort me with. After a moment, he says, "Hush, it'll all be okay."
A while passes, and Sun had taken me to sit on the floor with him, eventually getting me to calm down. He had run his hands over my back and shoulders, gently telling me little things to make me feel better. It just made me want to miss him all the more, though.
I let out a heavy sigh, finally pulling myself together.
Sundrop groans with annoyance, letting me go. I give him a curious look in turn. "Why did you have to come back into our lives?"
I shrug lazily, eyes tired, as I look up at him. "Would you rather me just never seeing you, and none of this would've ever happened?" I ask him, curiously. He thinks for a second, then shakes his head. "No, I'm glad I got to see you again." Sunny tells me with a soft hand on my shoulder.
A thought lingers in my mind. It wasn't a good one, but if he wanted it, I could do it. "I mean . . when I leave, . . I can always wipe your memory slot." My voice mumbles.
"No! I don't want to forget you." He grabs me into a hug again. "Don't talk like that."I look up at him. My lips curl to a soft smile. "I promise I'll visit." My smile falters. "And you can always message me on the Fazwatch. You know, if I can keep it."
He doesn't let me go. It starts to make me a little uncomfortable, but I know there's no way of him switching unless the lights shut off.
"I'll make sure to wait!" He beams. His body was hot. I knew he would start to over heat again if be didn't let go of me, soon, anyway. We let go of the embrace, but as I walk away, I feel him tug on my hand to keep me a little longer.
"I have to go." I offer him a teary eyed smile. His hand slowly separates, dropping back down to his side. I'm finally freed from his grasp, as he walks me to the doors, a hand guiding the back of my waist. "Please, stay safe." He tells me. "I'll try and keep Moon away as much as possible. But as you know, the power goes out in here, too."
I nod. "Don't worry about me. It'll all be fine." A weak laugh escapes me. "I love you, Sunny."
"I love you too, Y/N."
