YIBO POV

I walked out of the boardroom, and Bi Cao followed me back to my office.

Bi Cao was my replacement PA; shewas a sweet and hardworking woman. What I liked the most is that she genuinely loved her job, and was committed to it not just because of the money or me. She was about 7 years older than me, with her lite brown eyes and hair she reminded a lot of Mari whenI was younger.

She and I went over spreadsheets anddocuments Uncle Chen sent me a week ago. Giving her instructions and she quickly took them down. Afterwards she went back to her own small office opposite from mine.

I leaned back on my chair and my gaze shifted to the photo of Zhan on my desk, it always put a smile on my face.

He was not just the love of my life; he was now soon to be the mother of my child too. My chest swelled with pride and happiness at all he's brought to my life.

He's everything I ever wanted andneeded.

My gaze shifted to the wall at portrait thekind Italian man gave us on our honeymoon. I chuckled inwardlyremembering the shocked and fascinated look on his face. I'd missed his appointment with Pearl last week, and I always tried to accompany him whenever I could. I shook my head, willing myself topush him out of my mind and work. I was going to have to lessen some workload if I was planning on going with him tomorrow.

Just then my phone rang; I pulled it out,

"Hello." I answered,

"Hey Yibo, its Bin."

Taken aback, I sat back on my chair.

Bin and Zhan were close and we got along but he hardly ever made asocial call.

"Hello Bin, what can I do for you?" I saidpleasantly

"Stop whatever you're doing." He saiduneasily

"Zhan has gone into labor." He added and I froze.

"What?" he wasn't supposed to be due foranother two weeks

"Where is he now?" I asked, beginning to close my files and laptop.

"I'm with him, we're almost at the hospital."

He said and just then I heard Zhan in the background.

"I'm on my way." I said, getting up

"Bi Cao!"

I called out and she came in running.

"Clear my schedule for the rest of the day,Zhan is in labor." I said grabbing my keys. Her eyebrows shot up

"Of course." She said then quickly grabbed my jacket off the couch and tossed it to me.

I spared her a thank you smile and I rushed out.I was pretty sure I broke a couple ofspeeding laws as I tore through the streets of Beijing. My car screechedto a halt and I flew into the hospital's main entrance, he and I came here a couple of times to consult with our doctor.

I stopped in front of a receptionist who didn't look up as I approached.

"Wang Zhan, where is he?" I askedquickly, she chewed her gum lazily

"What's your relationship to him?" she asked then she looked up and froze.

"Oh! I'm sorry Mr. Wang." She said thenshe began typing on her computer

"She's on the 9th floor, ward 12." She added.

I nodded and moved towards the elevators, when I got there I found Bin in the waiting area.

"Hey, how is he?" I asked and he grimaced

"He's hanging in there." He said,

"He's asking for you." He added.

I walked towards the delivery room onlyto be stopped by a nurse

"Sorry Mr. Wang but you're going to haveto put this on first." She said handing me a hospital robe. I cursed under my breath and shrugged out of my jacket and into the garment. I walked in to find two other nurses and our doctor in front of Zhan.

He was lying on the bed panting with perspiration clear on his forehead, his gaze met mine and it lit up a little.

I went over to his side holding his hand

"Hey love, how are you?" I asked hoping to distract him from any pain he might be feeling.

He grimaced

"I've been better." He said continuing his breathing process

A nurse smiled and gave me a cloth and I used it to wipe his forehead.

"It's a good thing you're here, he'sbeginning to relax." He added quietly to me.

Just then he squeezed my hand and let out an ear-splitting scream, I stroked his hair comfortingly and looked at Dr. Lehn.

"Isn't there anything you can give him forthe pain?" I asked uneasily

"We're doing everything we can withoutharming the baby Mr. Wang." He said calmly

"These contractions are normal and this process takes some time."

I cursed inwardly and turned to Zhan, giving him words of encouragement and comfort. I sat by him as he continued to scream every now and then for thirty minutes.

Since we went for his past pre natal check ups for few months, we discovered that he was fit for normal delivery. Zhan quickly agreed on that, feared by just imagining someone slicing his stomach makes him shiver.

When he started doing it more frequently the doctor asked for more towelsand the nurses handed them to him.

"The baby is coming." Zhan said thenscreamed again

"Hey, hey love look at me." I said,

"You can do this, breathe. I'm right here."

He did what I said as the doctor told him to push, he squeezed my hand tight every time he did.

"One more push, Zhan" He said and hescreamed it and slumped back to the bed.

A cry from the baby brought a breathless chuckle from him.

"It's a boy." He added with a smile at ourdirection, and then handed the bundle to the nurse. I kissed Zhan's forehead, as he smiled completely elated

"Give him to me." he said and the nursecomplied, he gasped as he cradled him.

We both ogled at him as he opened hiseyes and mouth to reveal toothless gums, most of all he was as beautiful as he was tiny. Zhan gave him to me and I smiled and gently kissed his tender cheek.

"Little Zhen Xin." Zhan said then smiled at me

"I told you so," he added to me and I chuckled

"You did." I said kissing his cheek.

We gave Zhen Xin back to the nurse, and the doctor asked to see me outside

"Get Bin in here." He told me when Istood up; I nodded and kissed his forehead.

I took off the hospital gown and stepped outside with Dr. Lehn. Bin stood up walking towards us; I smiled at him.

"It's a boy." I said to him and he smiledand chuckled

"He wants you."

He went into the room and I turned to facethe doctor suddenly feeling anxious.

He smiled and put his hands up

"Don't worry Mr. Wang, he and the baby are okay." He said and I breathed outrelieved.

"He wasn't due for another two weeks, Ithought there might be some complications." I said and he nodded

"True, but the baby was fully developed and it's normal that it comes earlier than the predicted time." He said and I nodded.

"Will I be able to take him home?" Iasked

"We'll keep him and the baby here overnight, just to monitor both of them but rest assured everything isalright." He said.

"Thank you doctor." I said and he noddedshaking my hand

"Its my pleasure, congratulations." He saidthen he walked away.

I decided to give him and Bin some timetogether so I went and completed the necessary paperwork. I called back home to let them know Zhan and the baby are okay; they could all barely contained their excitement as they all took turnstalking to me. I went back to Zhan's private ward and found Bin sitting outside sipping coffee.

"He's sleeping." He said and I sat downbeside him, he handed me a cup

"I thought you might need this." He added. I smiled at him

"Thanks." I said then sipped thecontents.

"You're not going to leave are you?" Heasked knowingly,

I shook my head

"Where else am I going to go?" I said, Zhan and my child where my only home.

He nodded in understanding

"He's over the moon." He said,

"He got his bouncing baby boy." He added chuckling, I chuckled too

"And I'm happy that he is." I added.

"Well then cheers to Zhen Xin." He said and we clinked cups

"Congratulations." He added and I smiled a thank you to him.

He stood up

"I should get going, if he wakes up tell him I'll be back first thing in the morning." Hesaid and I nodded.

"I will." I said,

"Thank you." I added fervently, Zhan was not the only one who considered him a friend.

He nodded with a half smile then walked away.

I went inside the room closing the doorgently behind me; it's only then that I noticed the spaciousness and comfort of the room. I smiled inwardly; sometimes being influential had its perks. They gave us the best of everything, even when we didn't ask for it. I grabbed a chair and sat next to Zhan, looking at his sleeping form.

I held his soft hand and kissed it

"I love you my dear," I whispered, hopingthat somehow his subconscious heard me. He wasn't the only one whowas over the moon; I was a father to someone. That's something I never thought I would ever get to experience, he gave that to me and so much more.
