Feels

04:18, 4 January 2016

I pressed the green button beside Mark's name on my phone...

"Hello," it doesn't sound like him.

"Yes, this is Kris. Is this Mark's number?" I asked without hesitation.

"Well, not really. But, I'm his manager."

"Oh!" I don't know what to say or how to start it. "Is he busy?" I finally said. I'm not really good at explaining things and it was hard for me to say everything in a short period of time.

"They're actually free today. You're Kris from TIN, am I right?"

"Yes!" I feel relieved he knows me. "I'm working on the song we are supposed to collaborate in..."

"Ah. I heard about the collaboration." He cut me off. Good.

"I was just wondering if he could listen to the song and write lyrics for his part of the song." I said continuously in just one breath.

"Oh that. Wait." There was silence in the other line. Then, "I'll call you back, ok? I have to check up on him first."

"Ok, thanks."

Of course it wasn't Mark's number. Why would the company give their artists' personal number?  Stupid! I laughed at myself.

I remembered I have to be at the company in an hour. So, I went up to my room to get dressed...still laughing at myself for being so stupid thinking I had Mark's number...LOL.

"Ok, everyone," the director came in the meeting room. "Here is your schedule for the upcoming week." She showed us a list of activities.

"We have booked interviews, photoshoots, and recordings for the next week." She continued.

"No performances?" John asked.

"Not for next week. We need you to take some time to prepare for your concert, too!"

"Concert?" Now it's Sarah's turn to ask. "What concert? Nobody told us anything about a concert!"

"We just decided about it last night with the CEO. You would be having a concert in a month and I want you to practice for that." Wow.

"But we only have four songs in our mini album." Daniel said. "What...How....????"

"I know! So, you have to prepare cover songs from other bands." She said it like it was so easy to do.

"Easier said than done," John read my mind. "Well, then, we just need to work our butts off."

John stood up, and being the leader, started his speech. "We all know that this is a make or break concert. We can come up with cover songs in a month. Plus, we can play the songs we have practiced when we were trainees." He looked at each and everyone of us in the eye. "We can do this guys. I trust we can."

"Fighting," Daniel put up his fist.

"Fighting," Sarah and I said in unison.

Buzzzzz...Buzzzz.....my phone.

"I'm sorry, I have to get this," I excused myself from the group and started my way to the door. I can feel John's annoyed eyes behind me.

"Hello?"

"Kris?" ooohhh that voice.

"Yes! Mark?"

"You called about the song?" He asked. He sounded a little out of breath.

"Ah...Yeah....Uh....Well...." Here I go again.

"Yes?" He said. A little annoyance in his voice now.

"Well, I've written most of the lyrics of the song. And I haven't done rap before. So, I really don't know how to put lyrics on your part. And besides, it would be better if the lyrics would be from you...." I stumbled through my words..

"Whoa....Whoa...hold up. Breathe..." There was a bit of laughter...maybe a snicker.

"So, can we do it today?" Duh.... "I mean, are you free?" Duh.... "I mean....ugh..."

"I get it. I get it." I can hear him smiling now. "Of course we could do it today. I'd be ready in an hour. Where shall we meet?"

"I'm in the FNC building now. Should I just wait for you here?"

"Sure. In an hour."

I felt eyes staring at me from my far right. John was standing outside the meeting room and looking at me. Waiting for me to explain what the call was about.

How can he look so cold all the time?

"That was Mark," I started to explain while walking my way towards him. "It was about the song we need to work on. He said he would come over to help me with the lyrics."

He blinked once and turned away.

Grrrrr.... I hate it when he does that. He wouldn't say anything and just leave.

                                                                       JOHN's POV

I have already completely forgotten about Kris and her collaboration with Mark, when suddenly her phone vibrated.

"I'm sorry, I have to get this," she got up and went out the room.

Can't she talk on the phone inside the room? Why does she have to leave?

I followed her out. I think she didn't notice me.

So, they're meeting here? In the company? Why is she blushing? Why does she look nervous?

She looked at me and started telling me details about the phone call...which I already heard.

I just looked at her and left. I thought that if I say something I would just hurt her feelings or blurt out how I really feel.

I stomped back in the meeting room and dismissed the other guys. "You can go and rest for now."

"And you?" Daniel asked.

"I'm staying here for a while. I need to do some stuff." I reasoned. I can't just leave that jerk with Kris alone here.

"I thought we were gonna go check out some new video games, hyung." Daniel frowned.

"Not today, Danny. I have to check out some songs we'll be playing during the concert." I continued reasoning. "Let's do it next time.

Daniel slammed the door behind him. "Yah...." I shouted.

I sat back down and laid my forehead on the table.

Why am I being so protective of her? I should be happy that she is going to do this for the group, right?

I'm the leader! I should be concerned. Right?

Aaahh....so confused.

The door opened and Kris came in.

"John, I think we need to talk." Talk she said....about what?

"What?" I snapped at her.

"Are you mad at me?" Her eyes look like puppy's. How can I ever get mad at you, silly girl?

"No."

"Then why are you acting like that?" She looked straight to my eyes. "Ever since I told you about the project you just acted cold towards me."

"I'm sorry." Was all I could say.

"I hope you understand. This is for the group. I'm not doing this for myself." She sounds sincere. I know. I don't know why I'm feeling this way, too.

"I know."

"So, are we good?" She smiled at me and my heart just melted.

"Y...Yeah."

                                                                                       MARK's POV

As soon as I heard I had to do a collaboration with a rookie, I was excited and worried.

"So, who is it?" I asked JYP.

"She's a rookie from a band called TIN." I met the band during Music Bank. I met their vocalist and she looks cute, except that she's tall and a bit awkward...clumsy awkward.

"I hope you do well. She's a known composer and she actually made one of the songs for 15&" he continued.

Really??? That was a surprise.

"Will do, hyung-nim." I said. I became a little nervous.

So she composes? Talented girl.

This is a great opportunity for me to show the guys (GOT7) and prove to myself that I am more than just a flipping pretty face. I have to do well on this project.

I'm getting ready to meet up with Kris this afternoon. I just finished working out. I talked to her on the phone and she said we could work on the song in her company.

I took a shower, put on some comfortable clothes and asked my manager to take me to FNC.

I'm in the bathroom in the FNC building looking at myself in the mirror. I look like shit.

I tried fixing my tangled hair. I dabbed on powder on my now sweaty and shiny face.

Why do I even bother fixing up? I don't normally do this...but it's Mark I'm meeting. I have to look at least a bit presentable.

"I think that'll do", I told myself.

I went straight to one of the studios and prepared the things we need.

A head peeped in the door, "He's here!" John said. "Just call me if you need anything. I'll be in the other room."

He looked at Mark from head to toe one more time before letting him in.
