Debut

This has always been part of a dream I had since I was a kid. I would be singing live in front of people on live television. My heart is running a race and my stomach is churning. I feel cold, yet beads of sweat run down my nape. 

I look at my left and I see my band members feeling the same. "Let's get in on!" Our leader, John, exclaimed. 

"We can do this." Sarah says. She was always the 'mom' in the group. Always making us feel safe and assured. 

I just look at them and shrug. I am dumbfounded. I couldn't help but gape at the large crowd waiting for us surrounding the stage the staff has set up just for this debut. 

Daniel, our drummer, shouts, "It's time"!!!

We all walk up to the stage, holding our own instruments - John and I have our guitars, Sarah her bass guitar, and Daniel with his drum sticks. 

IT'S TIME! Finally. It's time. 

This is our time to show the world what we got. Our time to shine.

"Concentrate!", I tell myself, "focus". I can do this, we can do this.

We start off with our title track 'Debut'. Fans cheer and give us their love. Shouting our names and mouthing the lyrics. 

I feel more relaxed after the first song. We introduce ourselves. John, being the leader, is first. "I'm John of 'T.I.N'. I am the leader of the group, I play the guitar and sing as well. It's nice to see all of you here." The crowd cheers. Some ladies in the front row even make heart signs. Why not? John is an epitome of cool. He was loved by many as soon as his photos came out of the company's portal. He immediately got a million followers on Twitter. 

Next up is Sarah. She is the eldest in the group. "Hi guys.....and girls! I'm Sarah. I play the bass guitar. I'm so glad to be here with you." Sarah is one of my best friends. We instantly became friends the moment we met. She is the happy-go-lucky kinda person. She's an inch shorter than me but her perfect posture makes her look like a model. Sarah is the kind of girl who smiles at everyone and everything. Her face just shines whenever and wherever.

"Hello everyone! My name is Daniel", cheers from the fans. "I'm the drummer and the cutest guy in the group!" more cheers. He is, in fact, really cute. His smile could make a girl's heart melt anytime. He is the playful type. He jokes a lot and makes people laugh.

I feel nervous again as my time to introduce myself is nearing. "What if they don't like me?" I ask myself. Daniel nudges me, cuing me that it's my time to give an introduction. I quickly step up to the mic and gave a smile. "I...I...", I forget what to say. I looked at the other members. 

Sarah gives me a smile, "go on", she says.

"I'm Kris, I'm the lead vocals and guitarist of the band. I'm so honored to be playing music for all of you."

And with that, John cued for the next song.

We played a total of 4 songs which were in our mini-album. Everyone cheered and four of us had tears in our eyes. Tears of great joy, tears of relief, tears of accomplishment.

We went off stage while the fans are still cheering. At the backstage, we all hugged each other.  Words couldn't describe how we feel. We stayed that way for...I don't know how long. 

"Congratulations guys! You did well!",  the company CEO, Han Seong-ho, enters the backstage clapping his hands and giving us bear hugs. "Let's celebrate!".

Yonghwa, my other best friend, came in. "Well done! Now, let's go drink". Everyone laughed at that, including the 'Boss'.

We dined at a nearby restaurant. "Okay, now we start working", Boss said. "Now that you have officially debuted, you have a lot of work to do. This is just a start. You have packed schedules. Don't forget to check your to-do lists with your manager." He pointed at Harry who was stuffing 'samgyupsal' in his mouth. Harry just nodded and continued eating. 

"To our first stage", John put up his glass of beer (yes, beer. We're allowed to drink since we're over 21). "Cheers".

Everyone raised their glasses, "to our first stage".
