Chapter 40 : We're In Love

Jiyeon's POV

I was switching the channels in the TV when Wookyung came to my house.

"What were you doing?" he asked as he sat on the couch.

"Nothing much..."

Actually I was thinking about Seonghwa all the time. I'm still not able to move on.

"What are you thinking about?" He snapped his fingers in front of my face.

"Huh?... I just... I met Seonghwa yesterday."

"What?..." He looked at me. "What did he tell you? Did he hurt you again? I'm gonna beat him into pulp now." He stood up, getting furious.

"Wookyung..." He was about to walk out but I stopped him by grabbing his wrist. "Wookyung stop it!"

"Wae? I can't let him hurt you again. I'll teach him a lesson today."

"Have you gone insane?! I can't let you do that..."

"Don't stop me!"

"Wookyung-"

"Why can't you see how I feel about you?"

I let go of his hand. "What are you talking about?"

He sighed. "Why can't you see... that I like you so much?..."

"What?..."

"Yes... I've liked you since a long time. I like you a lot." I didn't say anything and kept looking at him in shock. "You really didn't know or you were pretending not to know about it?"

He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "Why is he the person you love? Why can't it be me?" I backed off when he yelled at me.

"Wookyung... I didn't know that you liked me that way." I tried to control the situation. "I'm sorry... I only like you as a friend... not more than that..."

I could see that he was trying to hold back his tears. So I continued.

"And... you're a precious friend of mine. I don't want to lose you. Please don't leave me." He just turned back and walked out of the house, slamming the door in front of me.

I crouched down, hugging my knees and sobbed. Warm tears rolled down my cheeks.

Everyone left me. Wookyung too. Now I don't have anyone by my side. I'm left alone again...

I was in my room when I heard the doorbell ring. I quickly went to see who it was. I thought it would be Wookyung so I quickly opened the door.

But it wasn't him. I didn't expect to see Seonghwa standing there. And he was panting.

"What are you doing-"

I was interrupted when he took a step forward and unexpectedly grabbed my face, pressing his lips against mine. He kicked the door close and pinned me to the nearest wall. It was all too quick for me to react.

I tried to push him away but failed. He kissed me fiercely at first but then he got little more gentle. I simply shut my eyes to stop the flow of tears. I kissed him back to tell him that I do still love him.

I subconsciously gripped the sleeves of his shirt. Then his hands moved down to my waist, pulling me closer to him. My mind was running wild and so was my heart.

He kissed me harder, deeper and I became totally weak on my knees. Tears unknowingly fell and I could only feel his warm lips brushing against mine. Then he slowly released the kiss.

How am I going to move on now...

He was still holding me close to him, resting his forehead on mine. "Yes, I've lost my mind," he whispered and my body tensed up on hearing it. "And it's all because of you."

I just kept listening to every word he was saying. He lifted his head up, looking at me with his sparkling eyes.

"I'm sorry I made you suffer. I'm sorry to take you for granted. I'm sorry for not being by your side when you needed me the most... After I bumped into you, I became craving for you, uncontrollably. I couldn't forget you. I couldn't and I still can't defeat my feelings towards you." He paused. "I still love you... So don't leave me again."

More tears welled up in my eyes. I bit my lips to stop myself from crying but that didn't work.

"Seonghwa, I..." I buried my face into his chest, hitting his chest lightly. "Why are you doing this to me?! I tried to move on but you..." I sighed. "...I still love you, too."

He hugged me tightly and planted a kiss on my head. I was relieved, glad, surprised, confused and shocked at the same time.

But one thing I can tell for sure, I'm still in love with him and I can't deny that. I can't live without him. I love him that much.
