Chapter 31 : When I First Met Her

Jiyeon's POV

Then next day when I woke up, I found myself lying on my bed. I looked for Seonghwa but he wasn't there.

"Did he leave already?"

I got up and went to the kitchen. Then my gaze landed on a post-it note which was stuck on the table. I picked it up.

Sorry... I had to leave early. I have back to back schedules today. But I made the breakfast for you. Eat it before it gets cold. And don't skip any meals. Eat the food and cheer up. Jiyeon fighting!!

I chuckled at it. "This boy..."

He knows how to make me feel better. I feel so lucky to have someone like him.

I thought to visit Wookyung today. I quickly got changed and went to his house. But he wasn't home.

"Where would he be? I should call him." I took out my phone and called him.

"Yah... Where are you?"

"Why? What happened?"

"Just tell me where you are now."

"PC cafe."

"I'll be there in a minute."

I ended the call and went to the PC cafe. I reached there and spotted Wookyung playing games. I went to him and sat beside him.

Wookyung's POV

"Yah... Why weren't you home?" Jiyeon asked as she sat down.

"Just because..." I said, still pressing the keys of the keyboard.

"Did you totally forget about me?"

How can I forget you?

"I thought you were mad at me again."

"Why did you think that?"

"You always get mad at me, that's why." She pouted leaning back on the chair.

I chuckled. "Did you eat?"

"Not yet."

"Let's go grab something to eat." I grabbed her wrist, dragging her with me.

"I'm so full. The food was so delicious," she said. Now I was walking her home.

"Yeah..."

"It's been so long since we walked here together, isn't it?"

I looked at her but then looked away. I sighed and kept walking.

"Why didn't you tell me that you got a boyfriend?"

"Ah... So you already know about it... I was going to tell you..."

"Is he good to you?"

"Yes... He's really nice to me. He always takes care of me and... he's just a perfect boyfriend."

"If he hurts you, I'll be the first one to beat him to pulp."

"Yah... Seonghwa isn't that kind of person. If you beat him I'll kill you." She then put me into a head lock.

"Ah... Ah... Yah, let go!"

"Don't even dare to do it..."

"Okay, okay."

We both were giggling together when someone called her name.

"Jiyeon..."

She let me go and looked at the person. I too followed her gaze and saw Seonghwa coming towards us.

"Seonghwa!..." She ran to him and hugged him. I just stood there, looking at them.

We greeted each other. And now he had his arm wrapped around Jiyeon's shoulder. I just wanted to remove his hand from there but he's her boyfriend so I couldn't do anything.

"I'll take her from here," Seonghwa said.

"Uh..."

"Bye, Wookyung. And don't play games all night," Jiyeon said and waved at me before leaving with him.

I just stood there and watched them walking away whilst holding hands.

I wish you were mine, Jiyeon...

I plopped down on the couch and sighed. I closed my eyes, leaning back on it.

—Flashback—

[Few years ago...]

I was on my way to school. I was late as always but I didn't mind. It's my usual schedule, nothing new.

I was slowly walking towards the main gate when I saw a girl, looking all worried about something.

"I don't want a D grade on my first day. Ah, what do I do?!..." she said and held her forehead.

I tried to ignore and go past her but I turned back to face her.

"Are you new here?" I asked.

"Yes... It's my first day today."

"Then your done... Good luck." I smirked and walked away.

But she grabbed my wrist and stopped me. I looked at my hand and then at her. She then quickly let go of my hand.

"Can you please help me today? I don't want to make a bad impression on my first day. Help me just once, please..." She showed her puppy eyes.

I sighed. "Alright."

"Thank you so much... From where should we go then?"

"You have to jump over the fence."

"What?! A fence?!" She thought for a few moments and sighed. "Okay... I don't have any other option."

"Follow me."

I took her to the place where we could easily jump over the fence without anyone knowing about it. I usually do this, almost everytime I guess.

I threw my bag to the other side and the climbed over the fence. I told her to climb up but she couldn't.

"Hurry up," I said.

"I can't climb."

I sighed. "Give me your bag."

"Why?" She hid her bag behind her as if I was going to steal it.

"I'm not gonna steal it. Just give it quickly."

She handed me her bag and I kept it in the place where my bag was. Then I held out my hand.

"Hold my hand and climb up."

She hesitated at first but took it and I helped her to climb up. Then I jumped down from there and helped her too.

I picked up my bag, dusted it and swung it on my shoulder. I was about to walk away when she stopped me.

"Wait!..." I turned back to face her. "I wanted to ask you name..."

"Wookyung... Jeon Wookyung."

"I'm Kim Jiyeon. Nice to meet you." She held out her for me to shake. I took it with some hesitation.

"Thank you." She then gave me her purest smile.

For a few moments, I just kept staring at her. It felt like the time had stopped and I could only see her who looked so pretty at that moment.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the school bell ring.

"Oh no, we're going to be late," she said and ran from there.

I stood there and watched her for some time. I chuckled and rubbed the back of my neck before walking towards my class.
