Give me a minute
16:39, 14 November 2020Yachi blushed hard, turning to her seatmate as he ate lunch. Today is the day she will tell him her huge crush on him.
"T-Tsukishima-kun..." She tugged on the elbow of his jacket. Tsukishima turned to her, tilting his head.
"What is it Yachi-san? Did you forget your lunch again?" Tsukishima asked, looking at the girl's empty table. Yachi shook her head.
"Um, are you free later? like... after school and stuff" Yachi's voice was soft and squeaky. Tsukishima took a second before replying again.
"Well there's nothing, why do you ask?" Yachi jolted when he came nearer. Yachi laughed nervously.
"Uh- well, can you meet me after school then? B-by the back gates! Just you... please." Yachi gave a nervous smile. Tsukishima moved back and then nodded. He went back to his lunch. Yachi started rummaging her bag, Tsukishima assumed it was to get her own lunch. He knew the girl can be forgetful with her lunch, sometimes forgetting to bring it. Then he wondered why exactly she wanted to meet him.
"Okay? For what?" He turned to Yachi when she suddenly got up with her lunch. It was weird since they'd usually eat together, Yamaguchi had to stay in his own class today because he forgot to do his homework the night before.
"Just go, okay? I'll see you after lunch then." Yachi said rather too quickly. Before he could say anything else, she had run off. Tsukishima frowned, tilting his head in confusion. He carried on with his lunch alone.
The time came when Tsukishima was supposed to meet up with Yachi by the gate. He took a quicker time to pack his things and headed off. It had made the male curious as to why the girl asked him to meet him out of the blue. He didn't even see her during lunch. He sighed and just carried on. He changed his shoes and made his way to the back, near the Gym there was a back gate where they'd usually take after practices. He saw the familiar blonde head and walked a bit faster. She seemed to be flustered or anxious.
"Yachi-san." He tapped the girl's shoulder. Yachi yelped by surprise, dropping something she was carrying in her hand. Yachi quickly picked it up and turned to him.
"Tsukishima-kun! I didn't think you'd come this early..." Yachi muttered more to herself than him. Tsukishima shrugged, he then noticed the light envelope she held.
He wondered what it was until it clicked on his head. Immediately he blushed. Asked by a cute girl o come alone in a secluded area, she has a pink envelope and she had a cute blush on her cheeks, Tsukishima knew the time finally came.
"Tsukishima-kun, I!-"
"W-wait! Before you do that, Give me a minute." Tsukishima covered his face and turned away from her He already knew Yachi liked him, he found out by accident
.
He was in the Library trying to find a book he wanted to read, he found it but on the other side of the bookshelf was Yachi and some girl he remembered as her best friend.
"Stop being in denial, You like that Blonde haired guy from the volleyball team!" Tsukishima froze, Yachi, who was looking at the other shelf suddenly turned around. Tsukishima ducked low, covering his mouth to avoid any noise coming out of his mouth.
"I-It's just admiration! I... I mean he's a great person, who wouldn't... like him.." He heard the flustered state of Yachi. He couldn't help but hear his heart beating faster.
"Uh- The girls call him Elsa. He is cold as ice! Besides, they only think his hot. but YOU definitely see more than that." Tsukishima frowned, they called him Elsa!?
"Mei-chan! Shh! Someone might hear. The last thing I want is people finding out my crush." Tsukishima froze, He took a leap of courage and knelt up to see Yachi, her face red and-
Omg, Yachi actually likes him back.
Ha! You admitted it!"
.
"G-give me a minute please." Tsukishima slumped his shoulders and tried his best to hide the blush on his cheeks, but his ears were red as a tomato. Yachi stared at the male, confused.
"Are you okay? Are you sick?" Yachi asked, tugging his arm down, forcing him to show his blushing state. Yachi stopped to see the rare sight of Tsukishima blushing. He cleared his throat and looked everywhere but at her.
"I'm not- just, okay. Carry on." Tsukishima straightened his back and then suddenly stared intently at her. Yachi widened her eyes by surprise and then suddenly blushing hard because all of his attention was on her.
"R-right... I-" Yachi choked on her words. She turned away. "P-please give me a minute too." Yachi hid her face with the envelope. Both of them were a blushing mess. an actual minute passed and they seemed to finally calm down, they both shyly looked at each other. Yachi's cheek covered by her envelope while Tsukishima covered his cheeks with his hand.
"T-Tsukishima Kei, since the first year I- I've had a... huge-" Yachi stopped and closed her eyes tightly. "Argh, I can't do it!" Yachi tried to run away but Tsukishima held her back, panicking.
"N-No wait!" Tsukishima pulled her nearer, he leaned closer to her, gripping on her shoulders a bit more tighter. "Just say it." He muttered.
Yachi's heart actually stopped for a second, his face so close to hers, she could see his pretty lashes. She took in a deep breath and held onto it. "Okay- Tsukishima Kei... I've had a huge crush on you!" Yachi said, pushing the envelope right onto his chest. He held it by surprise as he looked at the girl running away as fast as she can. He didn't know what the heck just happened, he opened the envelope and read her letter.
Tsukishima Kei,
I've had a crush on you since the first year. You don't have to like me back. I just wanted to tell you that, please don't feel awkward with me. We'll still be friends, right?
-Hitoka
Tsukishima blushed hard. He looked at where the girl ran and started running too. Soon enough she saw the girl walking slowly, dragging her feet and her shoulders slumped down. He caught his breath and ran to her. He gripped on her shoulder, causing her to yelp in surprise.
"T-Tsukishi-"
"I don't want to be friends." He panted, trying to catch his breath. He swallowed the lump on his throat and straightened his back. Yachi looked like she was about to cry because of what he said.
"I like you, Yachi-san." Yachi's hurt looks turned into a surprised stare. She tilted her head, not really processing the information he had just given her.
"Hold on, really?" Yachi asked, more surprised when he nodded his head vigorously.
"Yes, really," Tsukishima muttered, Yachi took a moment before grinning hard. Tsukishima smiled, chuckling a bit.
"You look like a dork." He commented, even though he himself was grinning like a dork. Yachi smiled even wider, which just made Tsukishima's cold cold heart melt.
"I'm just so happy!" Yachi said, almost squealing, but she controlled herself. Tsukishima snorted but leaned down to her, caressing her cheek. He smiled, chuckling a bit.
"By the way, I knew a long time ago," Tsukishima said, Yachi's smile stop and she stared at him, blushing hard.
"W-wait! Seriously!? When? How? Why? Why didn't you say anything? D-does that mean you knew even during the movies-" Tsukishima laugh and nodded.
"Yep." Yachi covered her cheeks with her hands.
"And when we went to the amusement pa-"
"That too."
"How did you know?" Yachi asked, playing with her fingers while looking up at Tsukishima with such a cute look she might as well kill him.
"It was at the library, you were talking with your best friend and... I happened to be on the other side of the bookshelf." Tsukishima grabbed her hand, intertwining his with hers and pulling her along. Yachi blushed but allowed him.
"That was a long time ago... Why didn't you tell me?" Yachi turned to look at him, a bit hurt. Tsukishima sighed and patted her head.
"I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable. Besides, It was fun teasing you." Yachi pouted but then sighed and gripped his hand a bit tighter. "Well, it doesn't matter. I still got you in the end." She blushed, making him grin.
"You look so red, Yachi-san." Tsukishima teased. Yachi covered her cheeks. Tsukishima just laughed, they walked silently after that.
"Oh..." Yachi started, Tsukishima turned to look at her. "Does that mean you're my boyfriend now?"
Tsukishima blushed at the sudden question. It was Yachi's turn to grin now. "Oh ho? Tsukishima-kun, you're blushing so hard! Does being my boyfriend make you flustered?" She teased, Tsukishima blushing harder.
"Ha! Being my boyfriend is so nice huh? Look at you being a tomato! Is my boyfriend too shy? Does it make you blush when I say you're my boyfriend? Hmmm???" Yachi teased him further. This was all the time he teased her. Tsukishima pulled her to stop, he leaned down and pressed their foreheads together
"Yes. It makes my heart flutter when you say I'm your boyfriend." Yachi blushed. Tsukishima grinned and continued walking.
"Hey! That's not fair!" Yachi whined, hitting her boyfriend. Tsukishima just shrugged and let the girl nag at him.
"Yachi-san, life isn't fair~"
