SHE WAS VERY SENSITIVE.ย Very, very sensitive. But that did not at all stop them from entering her room and asking her about it.
"Are you okay, F/n?" Sugawara's gentle voice asked.
"Have you eaten yet?" the Karasuno volleyball captain asked. F/n shook her head as she dug her face deeper into her folded arms.
"What's wrong?" Ennoshita asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
The girl sniffled. "I-I-" She let out a hiccup, "I... lost m-my quirk because... because I wasn't strong enough... I couldn't fight back. I was too weak..."
"No, no, no! You're strong, F/n-chan!" Hinata said.
"Yeah!" Bokuto agreed, "You even beat me- beat us! It was so cool!"
"You're strong, F/n-san," Akaashi smiled, "You're really strong."
"If you aren't, I don't know what or who is," Kuroo added, letting out a playful scoff.
"My brother is..." she muttered.
"Your-" Nishinoya stopped himself from talking any further as he caught the cold glare Sugawara gave him.
"The point is," the silver-haired male cleared his throat, "You can tell us anything at all. We won't judge or tell anyone."
"That's right," said Asahi, giving her a small yet reassuring smile.
"Please tell us, F/n-chan! We can help you and promise not to tell anyone at all!" Tanaka pleaded.
"We can help you defeat those monsters- I mean- villains!" Nishinoya declared, having a hand on his hip while the other pumped in the air.
F/n contemplated for a moment. She felt weird these few days, having to express and show her feelings more. To Midoriya, the Bakugou siblings were the only people that he met that were good at hiding their emotions.
Anger and confidence for the older and happiness and cheerfulness for the younger.
It was odd - to say the least - for it was as if they were trained their whole lives for that. But that was probably not true. Perhaps they were the way they were because of years and years of experience.
F/n sighed, unfolding her arms and placing them on her sides. "I lost to him. I lost to him over my quirk. He took my quirk. He stole it," she cried, clutching the bottom of her shirt as if her life depended on it.
"F/n... Can you... Can you not get it back?" Yamaguchi suggested.
"No!" she frustratingly yelled, making the poor innocent boy flinch, "I-I can't because... because... I'm... Because he's strong... Really strong and I don't have a quirk. I'm quirkless..."
The word 'quirkless' came out like poison from a snake as Kenma noted. It was clear that she didn't want to talk about it but somehow... somehow she had to. And because of that, he decided to leave them be for now.
"So you're saying that it's possible to get it back?" Kageyama asked.
"Yes," she responded, "But... It involves killing." They froze. "And I don't want to kill. I'm a hero, not a villain."
The tension seemed to hang around them as they hesitated to speak up about it. But someone eventually did speak up about it. Someone they, quote-unquote, expected to speak up in this sort of situation.
"I'll help."
"HUH?!"
"Bokuto-san! You cannot say such a thing when you're not on tour right mind."
"I'll help," the third-year repeated, his cheerful personal not to be seen, "I'll help F/n get her quirk back."
"I'll help too," Hinata said, ignoring the fact that Sugawara was scolding him, "I have to help. I hate seeing F/n-chan cry."
More and more started to volunteer. Starting with Tanaka, Nishinoya and Akaashi to Kenma and Kuroo to everyone else in the room. Even Tsukishima agreed, claiming that he just did it to make fun of them failing.
"No, no, no," she muttered.
"What?"
"No!" she shouted, "You can't do this! You'll die! And even if you didn't, you wouldn't be able to successfully kill him... All Might said he might have stolen the quirk of immortality."
Silence filled the air once again because Kuroo realized something. "Wait, I thought we can't get affected by quirks."
'Think, F/n. Think! You can't bring them into this mess you created! It's your fault! It's all your fault!' she silently scolded herself, thinking of ways to tell them not to go.
"Let us help, F/n," Kenma quietly said to her, "It's the only way to do it."
"You can't help," she coldly retorted, "You can't even fight."
"Then teach us," Tanaka stated, "Teach us how to fight, F/n."
"I-I..." she dropped her 'angry' personality and decided to beg them instead, "You can't! I won't let you! I won't let you kill anyone!"
They were silent as they listened to the girl's pleads. "Please... You can't kill... You'll be considered a villain, please."
"Then I'll be a villain for you."
"EH?!"
"Tsukki?!"
"Shut up, Yamaguchi," the tall boy hissed.
"That was a very blunt thing to say, Tsukishima," Sugawara chuckled lightly.
"That was flirting!" Bokuto bluntly pointed out.
The girl let out a heavy sigh through her nose, looking down on the carpeted floor of her room once again. This was getting irritating. This was getting her a headache.
"It doesn't work like that... I-It doesn't work like that! You'll be considered evil a-and I hate evil people. I hate villains! They're the cause of me being quirkless."
"We'll be villains for a good reason," Akaashi said.
"That's what I just said," Tsukishima grunted.
"You chose the wrong set of words there, buddy," Nishinoya snickered only to be glared at harshly by the first-year.
"Let us help, F/n," Asahi said.
"Why..." she murmured, the boys needing to get slightly closer to hear her, "Why? Why do you want to help me? Do you even want to help me?"
"Yes," Daichi immediately blurted out, "That's why. Let us help you, F/n."
"Why do you want to help me? Why me?" she asked again.
"Because you're our friend," Kageyama said with faintly tinted cheeks, "And that's what friends do."
The others started agreeing with the milk-addict boy while F/n tried focusing on her rapidly beating heart.
She felt moved by their words as they tried to reassure her they were fine. She felt moved by the first-year setter calling her their friend. It was all so foreign to her but she couldn't lie and say that she didn't like it.
They continued telling her, using the word 'friend' every now and then as they saw her change in expression and the grateful tears that started to well in her eyes. The ash-blonde haired girl sucked in a sharp breath before deciding on her decision.
"Fine," she said, causing them all to freeze in their spots, "You can help. I trust you." She looked up at them. "You're my friends after all."
