THE NIGHT WAS COLD,ย colder than usual. Her head lay on the black stone brick and her eyes closed with furrowed eyebrows.
She was still awake, unable to sleep from the mass of stress she had received earlier in the evening. It felt like a jet lag where time just drastically changes in a matter of seconds.
There was no window to look out, four walls confiscating her from doing anything. The metal box was connected to a chain that is linked to the frame of the broken, dirty bed.
The door opened and there stood the scarred man, physically and mentally.
"Got you food," he said, placing the plate with a few slices of apples, oranges and a glass of water.
He then walked behind her and used the key to unlock the metal box and released her hands. F/n pulled her hands close to her and rubbed her sore wrists.
She stared at him with fearful eyes, not wanting to eat the food in front of her, especially because they were from villains. This made Dabi sigh in frustration.
"Eat," he commanded, knowing exactly what she was afraid of, "You'll die either way."
'Is that supposed to make me feel better?' she thought to herself as stubbornness washed over her. The villain looked at her, sending a fierce glare.
"Fine," he got up from his seat on the edge of the bed and walked away without a single word. The girl looked at him with creased eyebrows with something that had been bothering her since he first came in.
"Why?" she asked, "Why me?"
Dabi paused in his tracks and with hands in the pockets of his pants, he looked back at her, body twisting as he did so.
"Boss wanted you," he said, shrugging his shoulders slightly, "You heard him."
"But-" she paused as she caught on Dabi's annoyed gaze, immediately looking down and staying quiet.
"Eat or you'll starve," he said before leaving the room and locking it shut. F/n took a deep breath and sighed, hugging her legs against her chest.
The thin white clothes she wore given by the League weren't too comfortable, considering how it wasn't too clean.
F/n glanced at the plate of food, stomach growling loudly at the sight of it. She let out another breath and thought, 'I'll die either way, won't I?'
With teeth slowly munching on the food, she glanced at the wall to her left only to find it blankly staring right back at her.
The crescent moon was shining in the dark sky, stars twinkling with imaginary mystical noises. The trees were rustling and the road was put to rest.
It was a calming night outside. Nearly no one was seen under the dark night sky. The soft wind blowing by could calm any nerves down and bring the tension out of one's body.
Too bad she wasn't there to experience all that and instead stuck in the room with a smoky scent.
She set the plate aside, climbed on top of the bed and covered her shivering body with the thin blanket. 'This is better than nothing,' she thought, 'I should be grateful to have this.'
She snuggled closer to the blanket, covering most of her face with it. She closed her eyes and let sleep take her to her dreamland. With one last thought, darkness came over her.
'Why me?'
The morning she woke up was the same as last night.
Compress was the one who brought her food, this time only being apples and water. And once she was done eating, he brought down the plate and glass, leaving her in the room.
The afternoon came by and the door opened, revealing the person she feared the most in her life.
The villainous villain: All For One.
"Hello, Bakugou," he said in his deep taunting voice. F/n was still against the wall, unable to move nor talk as she stared at the villain leader in front of her. Was this the boss Dabi mentioned yesterday night?
"I see you got back," he continued, "How was it? The dimension?"
'Dimension? It was a dimension?! I was in another dimension?!?' she freaked out inwardly, which probably is obvious from the expression she had on her face.
"It was quite an adventure, wasn't it?" he asked, "But we're going out of topic here."
"I have to say, Bakugou. You and your brother's quirks are quite powerful and quite useful for the league. Tomura told me that they should recruit you. Therefore, you are very wanted by the League of Villains, Bakugou."
"I will never join your league," she spat, immediately regretting what she said when he turned to her.
"Hm, stubborn like your brother, eh? No wonder you're family," he said with an eye-rolling voice, "Well, Bakugou. How does it feel being left out by your classmates?"
F/n froze at that, eyes looking straight at the man that stood before her. How could he know? Was he stalking her? But if he was then... How? 'I thought I hid it well...'
"You're easy to read, Bakugou," he said again, "It is quite unbelievable how your other classmates, you hope you could call them friends, are so gullible. Gullible enough to buy your lie."
"W-What..." she managed to mutter out, voice shaking in absolute fear. Fear and confusion with a tad bit of suspicion. What did he want from her?
"Who you actually are under your mask, no one knows, do they?" No response. "You are just like Tomura and the rest. All of them with different masks to wear, physically or mentally, they are all so easy to see through."
The girl looked down with clenched hands. Are villains not how she thinks they are? Are they really like her? She couldn't get herself to believe All For One but he had reasonable reasoning that even she had to agree.
"You know, Bakugou," All For one squat down in front of her but she didn't move a single muscle, "You can use this opportunity to have someone to relate to. Someone you can be with. Someone to trust."
"Stop," she shakily said.
"Someone to believe you. Someone to open your eyes and see the world. Wake up, Bakugou. The world isn't what you think it is like."
"Stop," she said a little louder.
"All those heroes were unreal. They just use their popularity to show other people to be on their side. They aren't actually heroes now, are they?"
"Stop!" she shouted.
"They didn't help you when you needed help. They bother to look at you at your lowest. Even your teacher doesn't care about you."
"Stop it! Stop it!" she screamed, hands gripping tightly on her hair, "Stop it. Stop it..."
Her breathing became unsteady and her pupils began to shake. Her body trembled in horror and unease and panic flashed through her deep red eyes with tears starting to form.
"Think about it, Bakugou," All for One stood straight up, "You wouldn't want to be like those monsters, do you?"
No response.
"I'll let you decide and when I get back tomorrow, I expect an answer from you," he concluded, walking towards the heavy metal door and locking it shut, leaving the poor fragile girl at heart, alone in the darkness.
