Chapter 16

Rhydian's POV

I pressed down on the break. The car skidded to a halt and in a matter of seconds was surrounded by people. I looked back to see all my friends and my girlfriend looking slightly afraid. I smiled at them remembering I wore the exact same expression to my first race.

Me:"it's ok guys. Just get out and blend in. The people are ok."

I opened my door and got out. I walked over to Maddy's side and opened her door for her. She grabbed my arm as soon as she got out. I wrapped my arm protectively around her and kissed her head trying to calm her. A few people came over and we slapped hands. We walked over to were Dom and Brian were stood as they knew quite a few people. A large man called Briggs called out to the drivers who were racing. As I stepped forward 3 other men also came forward. They were all much older than me. One of them was dark skinned with dread locks another a skinny Chinese dude and the last one a tall tanned skin brown haired Spanish man. Dom was talking to Briggs, before Briggs stepped towards us.

Briggs:"so how much you all putting in?" I looked at both Brian and Dom and nodded back to their nods. We had discussed this whilst eating. We wanted to make big money on a single race. I quickly spoke out first.

Me:"40k." I heard people gasp. But we needed the money. This race would make us 160 000 including the 40 000 I put in. But I wouldn't mention that part to mr Jeffries. The other drivers acknowledged me for the first time.

Spanish guy:"hey is this some kind of joke. The kids in the race? I aint paying 40 large to race a kid." I knew I had to make a stand to earn my respect. With my arm still around Maddy I walked over to him.

Me:"why you scared you gonna lose?" People laughed and jeered at him.

Spanish:"no but I ain't payin 40 large nuh uh. De ninguna manera el hombre (no way man)."

Me:"why don't you ask all these nice people to move away then so you can drive away and we can find a new driver. seguir (go on)." The guy looked at Briggs who smiled revealing a mouth full of gold teeth.

Briggs:"you heard the man." I smiled as he called me a man. I walked back to my car with Maddy and looked over to Brian and Dom who were both smirking at me.

Spanish guy:"¡Muy bien! Cuarenta grande (Fine! Forty large)." He said handing over a wad of notes. The other two men reluctantly handed over their money. Brian had given me mine so I handed it over as Briggs came to me last.

Briggs:"good look." He said quietly smiling at me. I nodded at him.

Me:"thanks." Briggs walked back infront of our vehicles and shouted.

Briggs:"get ready drivers were about to start." My group hugged me and wished me luck and Maddy kissed me good luck. I got into the car and fastened my seatbelt. Brian and Dom leaned in through my window.

Dom:"remember try not to drift too much because you'll wear out the tyres."

Brian:"and use NOS in you last 100 meters or so."

Dom:"the Spanish guy doesn't like being bumped. You know what I'm saying?" I nodded.

Brian:"and mr dreadlocks likes to cheat. Be careful."

Me:"guys I remember how to race you know. Your making me nervous." They both half smiled and half laughed at me. Dom ruffled my hair.

Dom:"visualise and win kiddo visualise and win."

Brian:"ride or die Rhydian."

Me:"ride or die." They stepped away. I couldn't help calling out one last thing to them.

Me:"keep Maddy safe." They both nodded.

Briggs:"are you ready?"

I turned the key to the ignition. I placed one hand on the steering wheel gripping it tightly and one hand put the gear into first as I held the clutch at biting point and pressed down on the gas pedal making my engine roar to let Briggs know I was ready. My hand on the handbrake ready to put it down.

Briggs:"GO!"

As soon as I heard the word go I put the hand brake down and moved my hand to the gear stick lifting my foot of the clutch and pressing down on the gas pedal. The car lurched forward. I looked to my side to see the other drivers were equal to me. I shifted quickly between the second and fourth gear. Shifting down to third as I approached a corner. I turned swiftly and the cheering sound dropped away as I shifted up to the fifth gear speeding down the road. It was a 10 minute race. I was ahead of the other drivers but I knew better than to let that make me relax. They could pass me at any moment. I felt a bump and my car move forward. I looked into my rear view mirror to see mr dreadlocks behind me. So he wanted to play dirty. my eyes flicked from the road to the mirror. I saw him get ready to bump me again. As his car moved forward I abruptly turned the steering wheel right moving out of his way. The shock caused him to slow down a little but now we were at the same point. He drove forwards and tried passing me. I could see him getting annoyed. Looking at my mirror I saw the spanish guy wasn't too far behind. In that second of a glance mr d had edged forward. There was a sign at the side of the road. He drove to the left of it as I was on his right and hit the corner causing it to fly in front of me as I noticed his intention to late. I swerved the car and hit the break so I didn't hit the sign. A flash of gold and red passed me and I realised I was now 3rd. I slammed my steering wheel before starting the car and racing forward once more. I easily caught up to the Spanish guy and could see mr d wasn't too far forward. I bumped the back of Spanish guys car. One twice then thrice. I pulled out beside him before waving at him slamming down on the gas pedal and gliding past him. I was now right behind mr dread locks. But he wasn't letting me forward. He kept swerving his car every time I tried passing him. The race was nearing an end. I started panicking a little but calmed myself. I'd end up killing myself if I panicked now. Then I saw my chance. Up ahead the bridge was opening. It was moving upwards. I had done this before back when I was in America. As soon as Mr d saw the bridge moving he pressed down on his nitrous gas. I smiled to my self.

Me:"to early dude." I pressed down harder on the gas pedal. I felt the angle of the car change as I hit the bottom of the bridge and raced forwards. Now was the time. Halfway across I hit both my nitrous gas buttons. The car picked up immense speed and all the surroundings became a blur. Adrenaline pumped and rushed around my body making my ears buzz I felt the tyres leave the road and the car soared in the sky for a moment looking like it was flying. This is what I loved about racing. The feeling of being free and forgetting everything for them few moments. My car skimmed over mr d's and all to soon landed with a thump in front of his car. Gripping the steering wheel tightly I controlled the car shifting it into third before bringing it back up to the fifth. This was the easy part now. Just a short straight line. I pressed the gas pedal for a final time and my car zoomed across the finish line drifting a u turn as I pulled up the handbrake. I couldn't see properly due to the smoke surrounding my car. I got out and before I realised I was being engulfed into a tight hug. I looked down to see brown hair and a small body next to mine. I instinctively wrapped my arms around her and smiled kissing the top of her head as I was patted on the back.

I moved Maddy away from myself and looked down at her. Her eyes glinting with tears but she smiled. I knew she was trying to hide it from me. She let go of me but stood at my side as the rest of my family hugged me. Tom was hyper. When Jimi came up to me we just settled for a hand shake.

Jimi:"that was awesome Rhydian."

Me:"thanks."

Briggs:"make way. Make way." the crowd parted and briggs came to stand in front of me. He smiled at me again as he handed me a large pile of notes. I in turn handed them to Brian for safe keeping. "Well done." He said shaking my hand. "Now I've heard about the fire at the school. I've talked to people and we've put together another 40 000 for you. So in total you have £200 000. That should be enough to cover the costs shouldn't it?" I nodded shocked.

Me:"thanks man."

Briggs:"no problem. now let's all clear before the cops show up."

mads:"cops?" I nodded as I quickly ushered her into the car. Tom Ava and Jimi jumped into the back. I picked up my talkie.

Me:"see you back at the hotel?"

Me:"yeah. We'll meet you there."

Mads:"Rhydian what's going on?"

Me:"nothing. Just cops don't take too kindly to us street racers. We'll go different ways so that they don't suspect if they do come down here." She just nods. I pull out into the main road and head to the hotel. I park the car and get out opening Maddy's door for her. "Let's just wait for the others."

Jimi:"Rhydian. What's NOS?"

Me:"nitrous oxide." He gives me a confused look. "Basically it's a gas that's surpressed into a tank. It makes your car go really fast, due to the built up pressure."

Jimi:"oh." He nodded. Just then Brian pulled up in his car. They all got out. We started heading upstairs Maddy Shannon and Ava walking ahead. Harry pulled me back.

Harry:"bro you haven't got your guitar with you have you?" I nodded I always carried it around. "Could I borrow it tonight." I smiled at him and nodded.

I walked backed to the car opened the boot and passed over my guitar. We started walking back.

Me:"hey Harry I know your my brother but Shans my sister first. I know you won't but it's my job to warn you. You break her heart I break your neck." Harry nodded.

Harry:"I know. But don't worry. I love Shannon with all my heart. I would never hurt her." I smiled at him and nodded. we walked in to the hotel headed upstairs then went into our respective bedrooms.

I walked in and closed the door locking it at the same time. Maddy wasn't in the room but I heard the tap water run so I figured she was in the bathroom. I sat at the end of the bed and called Mia. She congratulated me as soon as she picked up saying Brian had called her. She asked if I was ok and said she'd set the living room the games room and the front room as three separate classrooms for the year 10's and 11's year 7,8 and 9 would be staying at the school. I ended the call and put my head in my hands. So much had happened in a matter of two days yet I still felt their was another battle to get through. I knew very well what that battle was. Jana. I felt hands place themselves on my own and move them away from my face. Then my face gently lifted to look into gorgeous chocolate brown eyes. Maddy sat across my lap straddling me. With my face in her hands she looked deep into my eyes.

Mads:"what's the matter?"

Me:"nothing I'm just tired."

Mads:"don't lie to me Rhydian." She looked at me worriedly. I sighed deeply. Was there nothing I could keep from her?

Me:"we've been through so much these last two days but I still feel like there's another battle. That battle being Jana. I'm just scared because I don't want you to get caught up in this. I don't want you to get hurt. I don't want anyone to get hurt."

mads:"Rhydian how do you think I feel? You could get hurt too you know but you will never think of yourself will you. Mia's worried sick. Not being a wolfblood even she knows something's up. And what about the rest of our family Rhydian. They are all worried about you. Shan Tom Ava Harry rosa suki Letty Dom Brian tej roman Leo santos even Nicko and jack. I keep telling you we have to stick together but your thick skull doesn't seem to understand. You just keep thinking you have to protect us. Your forgetting that we will protect you."

Me:"I do not have a thick skull. I do know all of this I just..."

Maddy cut me of doing the one thing that she knew would make me forget. She kissed me. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me deeply slowly moving up and down so her pelvis rubbed against mine. She was wearing shorts. My hands travelled the whole length of her legs before settling on her waist for a moment then slipping under her top. she wasn't wearing a bra and she groaned as my hands skimmed her skin. She pulled on my hair and groaned in to my mouth. I left her lips pulling her top over her head and kissing her neck trailing soft wet kisses and sweet little nips and nibbles. She bent her neck giving me better access as her hands gripped the hem of my top breaking our contact as she pulled it over my head. My lips found hers once more and somehow the rest of our clothes shed of and we ended up beneath the covers. We lay panting slightly sated by our orgasms. She lay in my arms my fingers making circular patterns on her sensitised skin as she left soft wet kisses on mine. Our bare bodies rubbing against each other. Her lips were swollen from our ferocious kissing. I kissed the top of her head and she looked up at me from where her head was resting on my chest.

Me:"I love you."

Mads:"I love you too." I bent my head down and placed my lips on hers. This time I took her swollen bottom lip bit down gently and sucked on it. She moaned quietly as I pulled away. We fell asleep in a mass of tangled bodies and sheets.

Sharry's room - Harry's POV

I walked into the room and locked the door. I placed the guitar gently and quietly down by the door. Shannon was in the bathroom so I decided to quickly change in the room. I put my pants on and turned to see Shan just walking out of the bathroom. She stared at me for a moment before smiling. Realising I probably just saw her smile she shook her head and walked towards me. She looked so cute. She was wearing a light blue night top with matching pyjamas. They had little pink bunnies on them.

Shan:"Harry what are you doing?"

Me:"erm I was just changing. I just thought whilst you were in the bathroom..."

I broke of. She had walked towards me and was now stood in front of me. My eyes fell on her hazel green ones. They were the most beautiful colour I had ever seen. Right now along with love resided fear and worry.

Me:"Shan what's the matter?" She looked towards the bed then back at me. I understood what she meant. "Shan I wasn't going to do anything. We'll wait until your ready. But it ok to lie down with each other isn't it?" She just nodded. "Shan if you feel uncomfortable I'll just sleep on the armchair." I said pointing to the one in the corner of the room. She shook her head.

Shan:"no it's ok. We'll both sleep in the bed. I do trust you you know." I sighed in relief and smiled.

Me:"good just make sure you let Rhydian know that." She looked at me for a moment confused. "We had a little talk. You break my sisters heart I break your neck. I told him I would never intentionally hurt you and he was like I know and I do trust you but I still have to warn you." Shan grinned at this.

Shan:"my brother is so sweet."

Me:"and scary."

Shan playfully hit my chest igniting the skin were her hand touched. It seemed to have affected her to as she blushed before turning and sitting on the bed. I pulled my top on and sat besides her. She looked up and I placed a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Keeping my hand on her face only now placing it on her cheek I bought her face forward and softly kissed her lips, my other hand tangling in her open hair. She wrapped her arms around my neck sitting up on her knees and moving closer to me. I moved her backwards lying her down flat on her back then lying besides her on my side so I was partly leaning over her. The hand that was holding her face rested on her waist itching to move but refraining so as to not scare her. without realising my hand moved across her waist to her back pulling her on to her side so we were laying face to face. One of her hands were in my hair the other on my face. As she got onto her side she slowly moved her lips away from mine. She looked deeply into my eyes. I felt her looking straight through me.

Shan:"Harry..."

Me:"what is it Shannon?"

Shan:"Harry I want to. But I come with so much baggage I feel like I'm being unfair. I know you love me but I still feel like you can do so much better. I just..." She looked down hiding her face in my neck. Her breaths tickling my skin. I lifted her chin up.

Me:"Shannon Kelly your supposed to be the brightest and cleverest student in Bradlington high. Yet you fail to understand something so simple. I love you. No one else. I want to be with you. I want all of you including your baggage. I want to love you and care for you and be there for you. We don't have to do anything yet. Shan I want this relationship to work. If that means waiting for you then so be it. I'm not desperate for it. Not even really interested. But I do know that yes one day I would like our relationship to progress to that stage. But were fine as we are now ok?" She nodded and I kissed her forehead. "I've got the perfect song." I got up walked towards the door and picked up the guitar. Shan had sat up and I sat in front of her crossing my legs and placing the bottom of the guitar on my thigh started strumming before singing to her.

I strummed the last note looking Shannon straight in eye so she could see I meant every word. She had tears in her eyes. I quickly put the guitar down and took Shan into my embrace. She came without a fight. We must have been sat there for about half an hour not saying anything but right now we didn't need words to express how we felt.

Me:"Shan you know I meant every word I said." she nods then looks up from my chest.

Shan:"yes I did. I'm sorry for being like that. I know you love me and I love you Harry." I smiled and I kissed her forehead.

Me:"come on let's get to bed." I picked her up then lay her on the bed. I lay beside her pulling the blanket over us before holding Shannon close to me once more. "You know I've dreamed of this moment for a while now. When I would be able to lie with you in my arms." I felt her smile Before looking towards me.

Shan:"so what's your verdict on the moment then?"

Me:"it's absolutely perfect." I said without hesitation. She smiled again once more placing her head on my chest.

Shan:"I dreamed of it too. Now that it's happened I wouldn't change a thing." This made me smile. I bought her face to mine and gave her a small gentle kiss.

Me:"good night Shannon. Sweet dreams."

Shan:"good night Harry. Sweet dreams."

Me:"I love you."

Shan:"I love you too."

With that we both drifted into a deep sleep, the girl of my dreams in my arms. That night I slept with a smile plastered to my face.

Tova's room - Tom's POV

Me and Ava walked into the room and I locked the door behind us. I was excited at the prospect of spending a night with Ava but I was also apprehensive and nervous. I walked into the room anyhow.

Ava:"Tom is it ok if I change in the bathroom first."

Me:"of course."

She smiled picking the bag up and walking in to the bathroom. I picked up the remote and sat on the foot of the bed. I stick the TV on and changed the channel to BBC 1. There was a football match on. Man U vs Everton. With everything going on I had totally forgotten. They were half way through the game and the score was nil nil. 5 minutes later Ava walked in the room wearing white Ali baba pants and a long nightie that read need my beauty sleep. Her hair was piled in a messy bun on top of her head. She looked adorable.

Ava:"oh Tom. Are you watching football again."

Me:"yes why? Man U are playing."

Ava:"Tom there are other things to life you know besides football. I mean your girlfriend wouldn't mind some attention." I smiled at her trying to hold in my laugh at a pouting Ava.

Me:"Ava I do pay attention to you. But you know I have to support my team."

Ava:"Tom. Were in a hotel room. We could be talking or making out and all your bothered about is bloody Man U."

Me:"Ava calm down babe. There's less than half the game left. I'll go get changed and then after the match is finished we'll do whatever you like. Ok?" Ava sighed.

Ava:"fine."

I picked up the bag Ava had bought out and went to the bathroom. I quickly changed them emerged. Ava was sat on the head her back resting against the headboard and she was reading. She didn't notice me walk into the room. Her hair fell around the sides of her face like a brown with blonde streaks halo. I slowly crawled onto the bed and placed her hair behind her ear. She jumped at the contact.

Ava:"TOM! You scared me."

Me:"I didn't mean to sorry."

Ava:"it's ok. I thought you were going to watch football."

Me:"I was but then I saw you." She smiled.

Ava:"there's only 10 minutes left you might as well watch it. I'll finish my chapter in that time."

I nodded. I got up and went and sat at the foot of the bed again. Man U ended up winning 1 nil. I jumped up and down. Ava put her book down and came and hugged me. I hugged her back. After I had calmed down Ava turned of the TV, took my hand and led me to the bed. I lay down and she walked around the other side and lay besides me. I couldn't believe we had already been going out for a month. I was a bit apprehensive but Ava made it all so easy. She lay besides me putting one of my hands on her waist and loosely letting her arm wrap around my waist. She was so beautiful. My eyes flickered to her lips and my head involuntarily moved forwards. Hers moved towards mine. Even though we did make out like everyday today felt different. Today felt like more. So much more. I pulled her closer to me as I deepened the kiss. We snogged for ages before finally breaking apart breathing heavily. I pulled Ava into my arms her head resting on my shoulder her nose in the crook of my neck. She placed a kiss on my neck making my body tingle. I sighed contentedly and yawned.

Ava:"I love you Tom." I tried not to react. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep. I still couldn't say that to her. I felt her lift her head and look at me. She sighed dejectedly and kissed my cheek before placing her head back onto my shoulder. Only after I was sure that she was asleep did I open my eyes. I looked at her.

Me:"I'm sorry." I whispered. But content at having her in my arms I kissed the top of her head and also fell to sleep.

Maddy's POV

I wiggled a little. The sensation of skin rubbing against my own making me smile. I felt warm and sensitised. I slowly opened my eyes to see myself wrapped in a body and sheets. I looked at the sleeping face of my hadsome gorgeous sexy mate. His legs intermingled with my own. His face half cast in the shadow of his pillow. His arm wrapped protectively across my waist. I could feel his evident erection pushing against my hip. Even in his sleep. His fair skin covered perfectly formed abbs. His short hair messy as always. A short stubble growing on his beautiful face. I didn't want to wake him but his erection pressing at my hip and his innocent look in his sleep was to hard to bear. Rhyds:"what are you doing?"

me:"nothing."

Rhyds:"that didn't feel like nothing."

Me:"ok fine I couldn't stop myself. Your erection was pushing against my hip and sleeping you is irresistible. There happy?" He grinned.

Rhyds:"very." He pulled my lips towards himself. Covering my body once more he made slow passionate love to me. We had a quick shower and had just finished changing when there was a knock on the door and Jimi's voice called through.

Jimi:"Guys hurry up. Breakfast is in our room in 15 mins." I quickly dried my hair and brushed it as Rhydian made the bed and packed our stuff into a bag. Whilst looking in the mirror I noticed a red mark on my neck. I moved my hair and moved forward looking at it more closely. A love bite. Last night Rhydian had given me a love bite. I smiled slightly even though I was a little annoyed. Rhydian saw me looking at something and walked over wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my lips.

Rhyds:"what's up?"

Me:"you gave me a love bite." I said showing him my neck.

Rhyds:"I didn't realise. Are you mad?" I shook my head.

Me:"no I like it. And what you did to my neck last night I'd let you do that anytime. It was amazing." He smiled and he looked relieved. I moved my hair forward to cover the mark.

15 minutes later we were all sat on the bed in Brian and Dom's room eating toast and bacon and eggs and sausages and beans and black pudding. They had ordered the full English breakfast. I noticed Rhydian hadn't eaten much but it was more than he had been eating recently so I didn't say anything. I would watch him for a couple of days before I decide to say something or not. We set out early and ended home for 1. We had stopped for an early quick lunch and the journey home had been more pleasant. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm. Rhydian kept hold of my hand the whole way. Going back seemed quicker then when we had been going but then the traffic had been very light and Rhydian and Brian kept racing each other. Rhydian pulled into the driveway and we got out of the car. He unlocked the door and we all walked in. Suki walked out the kitchen and greeted us. She pulled Rhydian into a hug.

Suki:"heard you won wolfie. Now I've definitely got to race you." He smiled at her. Then Nicko and jack jumped into him out of nowhere.

Jack:"uncle Rhydian you won you won usted ganó (you won)."

Nicko:"nos vas a dar un paseo? (Will you give us a ride?)"

Rhyds:"Sí. pero no ahora. después (yes. But not now. After)." They nodded jumped down and ran up the stairs. I saw Jimi looking uncomfortable as he looked around the huge house. "Where's Mia?"

Suki:"she's got a class in the living room. Two teacher from your school are here too. Ones in the games room and the other in the front room."

Rhydian nodded and taking my hand walked to the living room. Sticking his head around the door he called for Mia. She excused herself from the class and walked out. She asked Jimi to go sit in the class. Then she hugged Rhydian.

Mia:"baby are you ok?" Rhydian nodded.

Rhyds:"Mia Brian's got the money. I have to go now to the wild. I have to bring back Maddy's parents. I should be back by tonight. Take the money to the school."

Mia:"let me come with you then."

Rhyds:"no you can't. Jana is mental. She could hurt you." He tries to keep his voice low. Just then Brian comes in with the others. We move into the kitchen for some privacy.

Mia:"she could hurt you too. Let Brian come then."

Rhyds:"I'm different remember. I'll be fine. I can take care of myself."

Shan:"you might be able to stop Mia and Brian from coming but you can't stop us Rhydian. We have protection remember. Were coming wether you like it or not."

Rhyds:"but..." Ava cuts him off.

Ava:"no buts." He looks at me for help.

Me:"I agree with the others." He scowls at me.

Rhyds:"fine." He says exasperated.

Harry:"don't worry Mia. We'll take care of him." Mia just nods but I can see a mothers affections. She's always treated Rhydian like her own son. She's worried and scared. But she tries to hide it. She walks to a drawer opens it and takes out some keys.

Mia:"take the range rover. It will fit you all in." Before she could stop herself she had her arms around Rhydian and was crying. "You be careful ok and keep calling to let me know. Don't do anything stupid."

Rhyds:"I won't." Then he whispers something in her ear but I don't catch it. Brian comes and pulls Mia away. He hugs Rhydian too before holding on to Mia who's trying to compose herself. She hugs us all and tells me to be careful too. I hug her back tears forming in my own eyes. We all know there's going to be a fight. I just hope non of us are the ones who get hurt. They walk us to the car and wave good bye. If everything goes well I'll be back home tonight or even tomorrow. And everything will be fine.

Ok guys so this was more if a filler chapter. So that's why it's a bit shorter. There will be more dramatic events in the next one.
