Chapter 14

Rhydian's POV

I awoke with a nagging feeling that something bad was going to happen. I tried to will it away and shifted to make myself comfortable once more but the feeling wouldn't go. I reluctantly opened my eyes. I reached out for phone to check the time. It was half six in the morning. I put my phone down lay on my back and groaned. I might as well get up. I carefully left the bed being careful not to wake Maddy. I fired up the computer before quickly going to the bathroom. I sat on the chair and stuck in the theory cd that Mia had gotten for me. As I already knew how to drive I knew most the answers so I went straight for the practice tests. I finished the questions in 6 minutes and hazard persecution took half an hour. But I passed the test. I looked at the little clock in the corner of the computer screen. It read 7:15. I'd do a few more when I came home but I would tell Mia to book the test for me. I quickly changed. I looked over at Maddy who was still sleeping. I kissed her forehead and quietly left the room. I was done by 7:40. Mia was sat drinking coffee. She got up when she saw me.

Mia:"babe are you ok?"

Me:"I'm fine I just have this weird feeling something bad is going to happen."

Mia:"baby i think your just being paranoid. Everything is fine. I'll make you some breakfast ok?"

Me:"Mia I'm really not hungry."

Mia:" babe you gotta eat ok. How about I make you a bacon sandwich with one piece of toast?" I looked at her.

She wore a worried look on her face. I didn't want to worry her anymore so I nodded. She got up and made me the sandwich.

Me:"can you book my theory test please. I did one just before and I passed it."

Mia:"sure. Ill book the practical at the same time ok?"

Me:"yeah that's fine." She handed me the sandwich. I took it and grabbed my bag.

Me:"I'm going to walk today. Take care of Maddy ok." Before she could say anything I left.

I bit into my sandwich and I had to admit it tasted good. I quickly finished and started sprinting through the woods. The wind whipping in my face and through my hair felt great. I couldn't help but notice Maddy's absence. I missed racing with her. One day soon I would do it again I vowed to myself. As I entered the school gates I felt a little better. The nagging feeling was still there though. I tried shaking it of and walked towards the dark room.

Mia's POV

Rhydian just bolted out the door. I was worried about him. He wasn't eating proper and he looked as if he hadn't slept properly last night. When he had mentioned the feeling of something bad happening I had just brushed it of but in all honesty I had the same nagging feeling and jack had been jumpy too. I decided to call Shannon to tell her to keep an eye on him. I dialled her number. She picked up on the fourth ring.

Shan:"hey Mia."

Me:"hi Shan."

Shan:"is everything ok?"

Me:"yeah it's fine. I just wanted to ask you to keep an eye on Rhydian. I'm just a bit worried about him."

Shan:"oh ok. That's fine. Are you sure everything's ok?"

Me:"everything's fine Shan. Don't worry. See you guys later."

Shan:"ok then bye." I cut the call.

I started tidying luckily Dom and Brian had taken jack and Nicko out with them first thing in the morning. They had gone to sort out Rhydian's car. I called the driving agency and managed to book the theory test and the practical for Saturday morning For a little extra money. The guy was a little shocked and said I was taking a huge risk but I knew that Rhydian would pass. Maddy came down a little while later and asked about Rhydian. She said he hadn't woken her this morning and had just left. I told her not to worry and that she could talk to him after he came back from school. Maddy spent the rest of the day with me. She helped me clean and we decided to make Rhydian's favourite meal. Hogs roast. Dom had called and said they would be home around sixish. Soon it was time to pick Rhydian up. I left Maddy watching the kids as I grabbed my keys and headed out.

Rhydian's POV

as soon as I walked into the dark room Shannon walked over and started asking me questions. I clicked on that Mia must have called her as soon as I had left the house.

Shan:"Rhydian, are you ok? What's up? Talk to me Rhydian."

Me:"Shan I'm fine nothing is up."

Shan:"Rhydian don't lie to me ok. Please."

Me:"I'm guessing Mia called you?"

Shan:"yes she did ok. But can you blame her. She is worried about you. We all are. You don't eat properly. You clearly aren't sleeping properly and you keep yourself away and blocked of from everyone. Talk to me. Let us help you. We are family after all. were supposed to get through things together."

me:"Shan there is nothing wrong ok." I said furrowing my brow. She was about to say something when my phone rang. I gave her a look saying wait as I answered the call.

Mrs. V:"hey Rhydian. I just called Mia but she said to try your mobile as you had already left."

Me:"hi mrs. Vaughn. Is everything ok?"

Mrs. V:"yes everything's fine. I was just missing you so I thought I'd call before work. How are you?"

Me:"I'm ok thank you." There was an awkward silence for a moment. I didn't know how to respond to her. She missed me. Non of my foster parents had ever said that to me.

Mrs. V:"Rhydian I was wondering if you'd come down on Saturday and see me for a while I miss you."

me:"sure that's fine." I paused a moment. I could just about hear her sigh. I knew I'd hurt her then."

Mrs. V:"ok then. Bye son."

Me:"ok bye... Mrs. Vaughn?"

Mrs. V:"yes son?"

Me:"I miss you too. See you on Saturday." I could feel her smile at the end of the line as she cut the call. I put the phone back in my pocket.

Shan:"mrs. Vaughn?" I nodded. "Rhydian.." I cut her off.

Me:"Shan I'm fine honestly. Can we just get to class please?"

Shan:"this is not over Rhydian Morris. It is far from over." She gave me an annoyed look before walking out with me following closely behind.

As we entered the classroom I saw something or more importantly someone whom I did not want to see.

Me:"Whitewood." Whitewoods and Mr Jeffries turned towards us. Whitewoods darted towards me but me Jeffries quickly stood in front of me.

Whitewood:"you. This is all your fault. I'm going to kill you!"

Mr j:"that's enough Rebecca. How dare you threaten my students. Get out or I'll call the police."

W:"no Tim you don't understand. This was all a conspiracy. Don't believe them."

Mr j:"there is no conspiracy. Just leave."

W:"your believing them over me. They are nothing to you."

Mr. J:" they are everything to me. They are the children I never had. I will not let you harm them." He turned his head slightly to me. "Rhydian tell the headmaster to call the police." I nodded and ran back out. But I heard Rebecca shouting.

W:"I will get you for this. You will pay."

I ran to the headmasters office and burst through the door. I told him as quick as possible what was going on. He followed me with his mobile in one hand dialling 999. When we got to the classroom mr Jeffries was sat with his head on the desk. There was no sign of Rebecca. He looked up when we came in. He took the phone of the head and talked to the police. The rest of the class came tumbling in just as he finished and the bell rang. Me and Shan went to sit down.

Shan:"are you ok?"

Me:"I'm fine. You?"

Shan:"I'm ok." Tom Harry and Ava joined us. They took one look at us and started their questioning.

Tom:"what happened."

Shan:"not now Tom. Lunchtime ok?" He nodded.

The morning dragged and I could barely concentrate. Whitewoods threat was getting to me and the nagging feeling had grown worse. At lunchtime after explaining what had happened to the others I called home. I asked Mia if everyone was ok then talked to Maddy for a few minutes. Then I called mr. Vaughn as mrs. Vaughn was at work. I asked if everything was ok without sounding too suspicious. After assuring me all was well he cut the call. The afternoon was worse. I could tell that the shock of the events of this morning still hadn't wore of Mr Jeffries. He really was the best teacher. He had called us all his children. He decided to give us all the afternoon off. I stayed behind as everyone left. Shan looked back but I told her I'd catch up with them. I walked up to mr. Jeffries.

Me:"sir are you ok?"

Mr. J:"yes I'm fine thank you Rhydian. Are you ok?"

Me:"I guess. I'm a little afraid of her threat though."

Mr. J:"to be honest so am I. But I've informed the police and they've said they'll keep an extra close watch on her."

Me:"thank you."

Mr. J:"no need to thank me. Now of you go. You won't get an afternoon of like this again."

I laughed as I left the class. My friends were waiting for me. I told them that I was going to head home as I was tired. I called Mia and asked her to pick me up. I knew I had to make up for this morning. She came to pick me up. The rest of the guys decided to head home too so Mia told them to get in and dropped them all of. I replayed the events of the day to her. She asked me if I was ok and I told her I was fine.

Mia:"I managed to book your tests for Saturday morning. Your theory is at half 8 and the practical is at half 9."

Me:"ok that's fine." The rest of the journey we stayed silent.

When we got home I greeted everyone then headed to my room. A minute later Maddy walked in carrying a tray of food.

Mads:"I know you haven't eaten and I know you've not been eating properly. So quickly get changed and you can tell me what's wrong whilst I feed you myself."

I smiled at her, grabbed my night clothes and went into the bathroom. I was going to be home now so I might as well be comfortable. I came out two minutes later. I hung my school clothes up and sat on the bed. Maddy leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on my lips before sitting back down. She took the fork and places it in the bowl of chicken pasta. She picked up some contents placed her hand beneath the fork then bought it to my mouth. She gave me the open your mouth stare. So I opened my mouth before she gently pushed it into my mouth. I closed my lips around the cold metal which Maddy carefully pulled out depositing the contents successfully into my mouth. I chewed slowly and swallowed as she forked some into her own mouth. Then I began telling her the events of the day as she slowly fed me and sat patiently listening and waiting for me to finish. The food finished just as I finished speaking. I was stuffed. Maddy took the tray and put it on the dressing table.

Me:"how was your day?"

Mads:"well it was a lot better than yours." she looked at me her eyes filled with love. She came and sat across my legs straddling my thighs. She took my face in both her hands as I wrapped my arms around her waist. She softly stroked my face with her thumbs. "I don't want you to worry about all of this ok. Everything will be ok. We will sort Whitewoods out together. I don't want you to work yourself up."

Me:"mads I have to keep you and my family safe. I've had this nagging feeling all day and when she said that it made it worse. I'm worried especially about you."

Mads:"Rhydian I know your worried but it's not your job to keep us all safe. It's all our jobs to keep each other safe ok. Now stop worrying. I hear you have two tests on Saturday. Why don't you revise for them. I'll go put the dishes down."

Me:"don't go. Please stay here with me." I said holding her tighter.

Mads:"let me just put the dishes down then I'll come straight back up ok. You put the laptop on. Then we'll sit on your bed and I'll try to help you ok?" I nodded. I moved my head upwards and she moved hers towards mine. I kissed her lips and her hands wrapped themselves in my hair. She groaned before pulling back. "Not now ok." With that she got up picked up the tray and left. I picked up my mac and bought it to the bed and put it on. I was confused. Why had Maddy said no. I stuck in the cd and Maddy walked back in locking the door behind her. I was just going to ask her straight out.

Me:"mads why did you say no?"

Mads:"because your upset right now and if we had then you wouldn't have got anything done." I think I sagged with relief. She chuckled at my reaction. I started the practice tests whilst Maddy went to change into her own night clothes. We sat there and I worked till 7. Maddy had decided to work on her own homework. She managed to finish it. I turned of the laptop and went to stand at my window.

Mads:"it's a no moon day tomorrow." She said hugging me from behind. I could feel her face flat against my back. I pulled her in front of me.

Me:"I'm glad it's not on Saturday." She smiled. "I love you."

Mads:"I love you too." I was just about to kiss her when I heard a knock on the door. I sighed as I let Maddy go to open the door. Tej was stood there.

Tej;"dinners in 10 bruh. You ok?"

Me:"I'm fine we'll be there in a minute." He smiled as he nodded and walked down. I turned to see Maddy stood behind me. "Let's go then shall we?" She nodded.

She slipped her hand into mine and we walked down together. Dinner was quite silent.

Mia:"how's the hogs roast? Me and Maddy were working on it all morning." I smiled at them both.

Me:"it's amazing thank you."

Rosa:"if it's so amazing why are you not eating it. Coma hasta entonces. (Eat up then)."

Me:"Estoy. (I am)." I ate as much as I could. Then I broached the sensitive subject. "Mia can I miss school tomorrow? Please?"

Mia:"Rhydian you know how I feel about you missing school. Why?"

Me:"it's no moon day tomorrow. And I'm not feeling too well already."

Mia:"Rhydian..."

Me:"Mia please just this once."

Dom:"Mia just let him have this one ok."

Mia:"ok fine just this once."

Me:"ok thank you."

Mia:"that means you can help with the dishes then." I looked up at her to see her grinning whilst everyone laughed.

Me:"fine." I finished my food and succumbed to my fate.

I helped with the dishes but I didn't have to do much as suki Letty rosa and Maddy also helped. We decided to have some family time and watch a movie. I told Mia I would be going to the Vaughn's after my test. She said that was fine and that I should invite them around for dinner as Shan Ava Tom and Harry were coming over for the two day sleepover tomorrow. We ended up watching Harry potter as Nicko and jack had fussed too much. I liked Harry potter so I didn't mind too much. Maddy got scared on the voldermort parts and kept hiding her face in my chest. I was just glad she was moving closer to me. I held her tight and kissed the top of her head.

Me:"are you ok?" I whispered.

Mads:"I'm fine. I just don't like the scary bits." I smiled at her.

Me:"don't worry I'll protect you baby." She playfully hit my chest and I leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

Jack:"ewwww uncle Rhydian not you too. Can you save it for your room like mum and dad." everyone laughed. I could feel Maddy heating up.

Me:"come here you little terror." I pulled him towards me and sat him in my lap. I ruffled his hair and kissed his little cheek. "Would you rather I kiss you instead?"

Jack:"no!" He said wiping at his face.

He ended falling asleep in my lap just as the movie ended. I picked him up and took him to bed. Luckily he was already in his pyjamas. I lay him down and covered him with the duvet. I sat beside him just watching him for a moment. I kissed his head and stood up. I walked over to Nicko and kissed his head to before turning to the door. I hadn't realised Maddy stood behind me.

Mads:"they means a lot to you don't they?" I just nodded.

Maddy held her hand out for me to take. I took it quietly closed the door slightly after checking the baby monitor and followed her to our room. She locked the door behind us as I flopped down on the bed. She came and lay next to me. She turned to face me and held her head up with her hand leaning her elbow on the pillow.

Mads:"are you ok?"

I turned to face her and pulled her close to me wrapping my arms around her waist. Our faces were just centimeters apart. Our breaths mingling.

Me:"I will be. But there's only on thing I can think of right now that will make me completely forget." I could feel Maddy's heart rate increase as did my own. She bit down on her bottom lip and I felt myself harden.

Mads:"and what is that thing may I ask?"

Me:"losing myself in you."

With that I took her lips in mine. I made slow passionate love to her and let all my troubles and fears slip away as I lost myself in Maddy again and again. We fell asleep holding each other close. But I had a restless sleep. I saw fire. Burning down the Vaughn's house and the school. Whitewood parading around proudly. Shouting that she's made us pay. I tossed and turned. I heard my foster parents screaming for help but non came. Maddy was stood in the middle of a ring of fire. Her eyes yellow. She looked scared. I tried saving them but every time I moved forwards they moved further away.

Me:"NOOOOOO!" I screamed as I sat bolt upright. My eyes had turned yellow and I could see black tingeing my veins. I felt cold sweat trickle down my back and forehead before dim light flooded the room. Maddy had turned on the bedside lamp. She looked at me worried before hugging me close to her.

Mads:"it was just a nightmare Rhydian. Your ok now. Everything's ok." Her hands were stroking my back and hair calming me. Her voice a soothing balm. Slowly I felt my veins and eyes turn back to normal.

Me:"Maddy your ok? Your here?"

Mads:"I'm here Rhydian I'm fine. Look." I turned my head and looked at her. Her eyes were filled with love and worry. "Are you ok?" I nodded.

Me:"I'm fine. It was just a nightmare."

Mads:"do you want to talk about it?" I shook my head. She just nodded and didn't push me further. I lay my head in her lap as she played with my hair. I felt my eyes droop. So I told Maddy to lie down to. She held me close to her making me rest my head on her chest as she carried on playing with my hair. I soon fell back to sleep.

When I awoke in the morning I felt groggy. I felt around for Maddy and not feeing her sat bolt upright. She had just walked out the bathroom wrapped in a towel and saw how I had behaved. I relaxed when I saw her. She gave me a sceptical look as she walked to the wardrobe to get some clothes. I decided to have a hot shower to. Maybe that would calm me. I came out the shower to see the room empty. I pulled on a new pair of night clothes chucked the other pair and my uniform in the washing basket and decided to take it down whilst searching for Maddy. I glanced at my watch and it read 10:07am. I felt like death. I was so glad I wasn't going to school today. I came down to smell bacon and eggs cooking. Maddy was stood there with suki, rosa, Letty and Mia. She smiled when she saw me.

Mads:"I was going to bring your breakfast up."

Me:"it's fine we'll just eat down here." She nodded. She turned the bacon in the pan before grabbing a plate. Suki plated the egg and bacon whilst Maddy buttered the toast. "Where is everyone?" I asked no one in particular.

Mia:"they're all out. Tej Han Dom and Brian have gone to talk to some retailers about buying the property next door and the one next door to that to turn it into our own garage. Roman had to go into a meeting about the planes. Leo and santos are upstairs finishing of the rooms and I told Brian and Dom to take the kids." I nodded.

I slowly ate my breakfast in silence with Maddy eating besides me. I managed to eat one toast half an egg and one slice of bacon. I pushed my plate away. Maddy scowled at me.

Mads:"Rhydian finish your breakfast please."

Me:"I'm full."

Mads:"Rhydian your not eating properly. Please. Your making me worried and scared." I looked at Maddy. She seemed on the verge of tears. I now noticed we were alone in the kitchen.

Me:"ok I'll finish. Just please don't cry."

Mads:"well if you start being normal then maybe I won't need to cry."

me:"I am being normal Maddy."

Mads:"no your not. My Rhydian used to be sweet and caring and he used to always smile. And when he got a whiff of bacon he used to wolf it down. And now you might still be sweet and caring but you hardly ever smile, your always down and you don't eat properly. I know were in a big mess but that doesn't mean you have to change." now she was really crying and it made me feel guilty. I took her in my arms and kissed the top of her head.

Me:"I'm sorry. I promise I'll try to be normal now ok." She nodded and lifted her head of me.

Mads:"you can start by finishing your breakfast." I nodded and finished as she cleared away her plates. When I finished she was about to take my plates when I stopped her.

Me:"I'll do them you go lie down. I'll be up in a minute." she nodded and headed upstairs.

I cleared my dishes and followed. When I entered the room Maddy was already peacefully sleeping. The no moon was taking its toll. I stifled a yawn as I lay beside her and fell asleep myself.

I woke up to a grumbling stomach. The smell of sizzling bacon wafted in through the gaps in the door. I opened my eyes and rubbed the sleep from them. I looked at my watch. It was 7 in the morning. I rose up and headed to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and changed into some jeans and a t-shirt. I came out to see Maddy had also changed. She was stood in front of the mirror brushing her hair. She was wearing jeans with a white t-shirt and on top of the t-shirt she had put on one of my checkered tops that was left open at the front. She looked cute. I stood behind her wrapping my arms around her waist and kissed her soft spot behind her ear before trailing kisses down her neck.

Me:"you. Are. So. Beautiful." I said between each kiss.

She leaned her head into my shoulder giving me better access to her neck as she closed her eyes an groaned my name.

Mads:"Rhydian." I stopped what I was doing and looked at Maddy through the mirror. She opened her eyes and they met mine in the mirror.

Me:"what?"

Mads:"I have to brush my teeth and you need to go eat. You have to get out in half an hour."

with that she turned in my arms, stood on her tiptoes and nipped my nose before moving out of my embrace and going into the bathroom. I shook my head to break out of the trance she left me in. I took out some socks and wore my shoes. I felt cold so took a large knit cream jumper and pulled it in over my shirt. I attempted to brush my hair but failed so I just left it. As I finished making the bed Maddy came out. She looked at me slightly shocked.

Mads:"Rhydian you look like you've just walked out of a magazine." I furrowed my brow and felt my cheeks heat up. I took her hand and we walked down. Mia was the only one up. She turned when she heard us come down.

Mia:"good your ready. Quickly eat then I'll take you." I sat down and for both Maddy and Mia's sake I ate whatever was on my plate. Thankfully it wasn't too much. At eight o clock. Maddy kissed me and wished me luck and then Mia and me drove to the test centre.

Mia:"I'll wait here until your done then I'll take you to the practical test centre." I nodded. She hugged me hard. "Good look babe." I kissed her cheek before getting out the car. I walked in and over to the reception desk. The man checked my details and pointed me straight through. I put on the head phones and started the test. I whizzed through the question and I think I did well on my hazard perception. 40 minutes later I walked to the front desk again. The man smiled at me as he waited for my results to print. As soon as the sheet came out he handed it over.

The man:"congratulations."

Me:"thank you." I had got 50 out of 50 on the questions and had only lost 3 marks on the hazard perception. I walked out with a grin on my face. As soon as I got in the car I was engulfed into a huge bone breaking hug.

Mia:"you passed didn't you? Oh I'm so proud of you little brother. My little baby's growing up."

Me:"Mia your killing me here." I strained. She let me go with a huge grin on her face.

Mia:"let's go do the easy one now." I smiled at her.

We got their 5 minutes early. I was to do a 40 minute drive. Again Mia said she would wait. The instructor asked me to read the number plate then asked me to lift the bonnet and asked two questions. One about the water coolant and one about the engine oil. I answered quickly and had to stop myself from going into detail. We sat in the car and I adjusted my seat and mirrors and put my seat belt on. I made sure to obey all the rules of the road And tried very hard not to make it obvious that I had been driving for so long. I was asked to do a three point turn and parallel parking. I did them with ease. 40 minutes finished quickly and soon enough I was pulling up in the test centre parking lot. I looked at the instructed expectantly.

Instructor:"congratulations mr. Morris you've passed. You must have had a great teacher. Your the only person I've seen in my whole career to pass without a single fault." I smiled at him as we shook hands. He passed me a certificate and asked for my provisional licence. "Now you can drive with this certificate and you should get your licence through the post in a couple of days.

Me:"thank you." I said shaking his hand once more. I got out the car and walked over to Mia who was stood next to her car. She looked at me.

Mia:"well?"

Me:"well... I... Errrr... Well I PASSED." I shouted the last word. Mia hugged me again.

Mia:"I'm so proud of you kiddo. Come on let's go tell the others then we can take you to the Vaughn's and tell them too." I nodded.

Me:"can I drive home?"

Mia:"I don't see why not. I mean your already insured." I grinned at her and she took the certificate of me as I slid in to the drivers seat of the Porsche.

I smoothly reversed out of the parking lot and drove home. As soon as we got there everyone rushed out to greet me but my eyes only sought one person. Maddy. She was stood in the doorway smiling. A look of pride glinting in her eyes. Mia must have let them all know. I walked through the crowd and stood in front of Maddy.

Me:"I passed."

Mads:"I heard. I'm so proud of you." Then she hugged me. She let go as everyone started piling in but I made sure to keep her by my side.

Mia:"babe I've called the Vaughn's round now. I told them you had something to tell them and that they were to stay for dinner. They should be here soon. Then you can tell them." I nodded. Then I remembered something.

Me:"Shan Ava Tom and Harry. They were supposed to come last night. Sugar. I forgot."

Letty:"chill bubba. I called them and told them. They understood about the no moon so they said they'd come this morning. Your foster parents are bringing them."

Me:"thanks." I sighed in relief.

Just then I heard a car pull up. I rushed out to see the Vaughn's and my friends piling out and walking up the driveway. As they reached the door mrs. Vaughn pulled me into a hug telling me she missed me. When they had all settled down and were sat comfortably I handed over my certificate to mrs. Vaughn. She read it before looking up at me.

Mrs. V:"you passed already?" I nodded.

Mr. V:"we're proud of you son." my friends congratulated me and mrs. Vaughn realised Maddy was here to.

Mrs. V:"oh hello there Maddy. Weren't you staying at your grans? How is she? What are you doing here?" There was an awkward silence for a moment. I looked at Mia for help.

Mia:"Maddy's just visiting for the weekend. I know her mum through her aunt so her mum agreed to let her stay."

Mrs. V:"well that's nice." Maddy nodded. Thank goodness for Mia. Brian coughed.

Brian:"well little brother we've got you a present for passing. So if you'll all come outside." I looked at Mia confused but she just shrugged her shoulders. We made our way outside and their in the driveway stood my dream car. A brand new silver Nissan skyline. It had blue flame stickers long the bottom on the sides. I was speechless.

Dom:"told you he would have preferred the charger O'Conner."

Me:"no I love it. I'm just speechless. thank you."

Tom:"I'll be expecting a ride to school every morning." I just nodded. I felt a small hand slip into mine. I looked to see Maddy stood next to me.

Mads:"breathe." I smiled.

Mia:"it's lunch time now. Babe you can take it out later."

I nodded. We all headed to the back door where Dom had fired up the barbecue. I took mrs Vaughn and showed her around the house. I took her into my room last. She sat down on the bed and I sat besides her.

Mrs. V:"they love you a lot." I nodded. "I love you to you know. You really were the son I never had." Again I just nodded looking down at my knotted hands. She placed a hand on top of mine and I looked up. "Can I ask you something?"

Me:"anything."

Mrs. V:"I really want you to call me mum. Will you call me mum?" She was tearing up and this made me tear up to. I nodded then in barely a whisper I murmured mum. "Say it again."

Me:"mum." This time I spoke clearer. She hugged me to her. I didn't notice mr Vaughn walk in.

Mr. V:"can you call me dad?" I stood up.

Me:"dad." He pulled me into an embrace. He pulled away and wiped my tears as well as his own. He put his arm around my shoulders and I put mine around mums. We walked down together. We sat as a family and enjoyed each other's company as we ate. Later in the evening I dropped mum and dad of home in my new car. When I returned everyone was sat around a fire with blankets around their shoulders and marshmallows on sticks.

Me:"I want to tell the Vaughn's what I am." I announced. I hadn't even realised I had said it until Shan spoke.

Shan:"are you sure?" I nodded.

me:"they asked me to call them mum and dad today I think they deserve to know." Everyone nodded.

Mia:"you can tell them tomorrow."

Me:"can you all come with me?" Again they all nodded. I smiled at them. At 11 we all trudged into mine and mads room. Our friends rolled out their sleeping bags and we talked for a while before all of us knocked of. All of us unaware of what tomorrow would bring.
