Chapter Eighteen

          Maya set the purple cat down. "Im so glad Rileys back. I missed Riley." Maya said. Riley smiled and hugged her. "Do you want to go to Topangas?" Maya asked in a hopeful way. "Can I?" Riley asked looking at her parents. She was smiling so big. They nodded they couldnt say no.         Riley skipped through the door. Maya started to follow her but ran back and hugged Josh. "Um..Whats this for?" Josh asked. He felt bad for what he had said to her. He looked at everyone and they were as comfused as him. Riley let go and smiled at him. After she smiled she hit him on the arm .       Josh was confused. Riley smiled "You are forgiven." she said and then skipped out the door. Maya smiled and went to leave "Long game?" Josh asked Maya looked at him "Ha. I got a boyfriend dont wait up." Maya said and then smiled and left. Josh smiled and nodded.      Riley and Maya walked in. "Shes Riley again!" Maya said all excited. Everyone smiled. "She painted a purple cat for me." Maya said. Riley smiled and hugged Maya.        "Good we missed Riley." Lucas said "Yes. Indeed it was not the same." Smackle continued. Riley smiled. "I do not want to live in a world without Riley." Maya said. Riley smiled.      Wait. Why was she just smiling. She didnt talk much she just smiled. "Riley?" Maya said nervous "Why arent you talking?" Maya asked. "You talked up a storm at your house." Maya had continued. Riley thought for a second 'make up a good excuse so they wont think your still in so much pain.' Riley just smiled and shrugged.       Maya grabbed Rileys wrist and dragged her outside. "Whats wrong Riley? Youre not good at lying." Maya said. Everyone followed Maya and started agreeing with her, they had been listening. "Nothing is wrong. W-Why would something be wr-wrong?" Riley said trying to smile like a Riley. She had been practicing.      Everyone looked at her disappointed, especially Maya and Farkle. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Riley asked "Tell us the truth right now Riley. You dont lie to us. Remember? We dont lie to eachother. If your falling tell us so we can catch you." Maya said. Everyone agreed."Nothing is wrong. Nothing at all." Riley said looking down. She felt bad for lying to her friends. "Tell us Riley." Lucas said from behind Zay. Zay knew why she was upset, so did Smackle. No one knew they knew. Riley was holding two secrets one from each of them. Riley didnt tell she just walked away.
