Chapter Four

      The bus pulled in to the parking lot of Abigale Adams High School. Everybody gets off of the bus and go to their cars. Riley and Maya ride home with the Matthews because Maya is staying there while her mom is on her honeymoon in Fiji with her new husband Shawn.      "Riley arent you terrified to find out Lucas' decision?" Maya says looking at Riley sitting next to her in the back seat. "Yes if course Maya. We are both getting hurt i just want him to make the decision for whats best for him." Riley says staring out the window.      They pull up to the Matthews house the girls walk in set their stuff in a chair and fall asleep on the couch. Cory and Topanga dont wake them up.      "Cory, the girls are going to get hurt. Can we do anything about it?" Topanga says looking at Cory then to the girls and back at Cory. "No, im afraid not. We just hope they go to the right people." Cory says. "Who? Us?" Topanga says "Yes and eachother and Smackle and Zay and Farkle. Even Lucas." Cory tells Topanga sitting across from him. "Why would they go to Lucas but i definitely know they will go to Farkle." Topanga says confused. Cory just gets up kisses her forehead "Goodnight" he says walking up stairs. Eventually Topanga follows him.      It was the next morning. The girls were ready to go to school when they hear the buzzer "Its Josh." Riley buzzes him to come up.      Riley and Maya walk out as Josh walks in. "Have a good day girls!" Topanga shouts from the kitchen with a sigh knowing that its the day that they get hurt.      "Topanga, whats wrong?" Josh asks while sitting across from her at the table. "Lucas made his decision. I think he is telling them today. They're coming home all broken." Topanga says. Josh and Cory look at eachother and then back at Topanga.      The girls walk into Abigale Adams High School. They walk up the stairs and then to their lockers.      The rest of the group was in their usual spot by the class. "So Lucas who is your decision?" Zay says looking at the girls talking at Mayas locker. "Oh, um...." Lucas says hesitating to say it "Um....Maya, i-its Maya." he says looking at Maya laughing and smiling. The rest of the group is shocked they were sure it would be Riley.      The bell rang the girls walked right by the group only smiling at them walking into Mr. Matthews class. Everyone took their seats. On the board was just a triangle with a cirle around it and a line through it. "Lucas," Mr. Matthews says. Lucas looks up from his desk. "Your decision?" everyone looks at him. "No. I am not saying it in front of the whole class." Lucas says refusing to state his decision.      "Say it Lucas. End it. End the triangle." Mr Matthews said. Little did the group know that Mr. Matthews over heard the decision. "Right now?" Lucas says with the whole group looking at him. "Right now. Or I will." Mr. Matthews said. At that point the group (except Riley and Maya who were confused) realized he knew.       "No. Mr Matthews. I refuse to say it in front of the whole class." Lucas said at this point standing up. "Okay he chose-" Mr. Matthews started but Lucas cut him off. "Maya. Okay? I chose Maya? You happy? Huh? Are you happy now? There the whole world knows I chose Maya." Lucas said feeling bad.       Lucas sat back down at this point everyone was looking at the girls. The girls had turned around facing the front of the class. "Riley. Im so sorry." Lucas said feeling awful for the way he flaunted his choice around. Riley just ignored him and kept facing the front.      The group could feel a change. Hopefully it wasnt forever.
