Chapter 33

Chapter 33Kakashi joins The Leaf

No one's pov:

(You know like in movies where villains wait till the main characters finished talking or having flashbacks before attacking, consider this chapter just like that.)

"Naruto... Kakashi..." The fourth hokage, Minato called.

Kakashi looked down while Naruto stared blankly.

"Minato sensei..." Someone called from behind coming to the front.

"Obito/Obito sensei." Kakashi and Naruto muttered.

Minato turned around.

"Obito..."

Then he turned back to Kakashi and Naruto.

"Why are you the enemy?" Minato asked.

"The dead shouldn't worry about things on the living land. At the moment, you are our enemies now." Naruto said in his coldest tone.

"Naruto... Stop this at once." Sasuke yelled.

Naruto growled. "Shut up Sasuke."

Sasuke's eye twitched. "That's it. Fire release: Great fireball jutsu."

A huge fireball is released towards Naruto. Naruto jumped back.

Hashirama, Tobirama and Hiruzen went to deal with Kabuto till the fourth finished talking.

Sasuke followed Naruto attacking again.

"Wind senbon!" Naruto yelled.

But Sasuke dodged all of them with his sharingan.

'I don't know who I should fight right now. Sasuke or Kabuto?' Naruto thought while avoiding Sasuke's lightning blade.

Back to Kakashi and the others, Obito was looking straight into Kakashi's eyes.

"Kakashi.." Obito said while approaching Kakashi. "Why did you leave the leaf village?"

"That's none of your business.." Kakashi yelled as painful memories came rushing back to him.

"Obito... you're late." Kakashi glared at him as Obito stopped in front of him panting.

"Shut up, rule freak!" Obito said.

"What did you just called me?" Kakashi asked grabbing Obito's collar.

"Alright guys... that's enough." Rin interfered with a nervous laugh.

"Alright kids. Today we're going to spar with each other." Minato said starting the training.

All those times, Kakashi could only think about the warm feeling he felt inside his chest the whole time he fought with Obito.

Two years later...

"You're right... In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum. But those who abandon their friends are even worse than scum. If I’m going to be called scum either way, I’d rather break the rules! And if that’s not being a proper shinobi, then I’ll destroy that idea!” Obito said without turning back.

He walked forward. Before he disappeared inside the bamboo garden, Obito stopped and said.

"I believe 'White Fang' is a true hero." After a moment's pause, he continued. "I'm going to save Rin. I think it's what he would do too." And he disappeared.

Kakashi had mixed feelings. The same warm feeling accompanied by many other.  Obito's words made Kakashi want to put aside the mission and go look for Rin.

Kakashi sighed. He stopped and turned around to the direction Obito went. Without wasting time, he ran towards Obito.

He reached just in time to protect Obito from the sword. But the sword cut through his left eye. Kakashi fell down holding his eye in pain.

"Kakashi!" Obito screamed seeing blood on Kakashi's face. All Obito could see was red. He felt sudden protectiveness towards Kakashi who looked vulnerable at the moment.

He suddenly plunged his kunai into an empty space, but after two seconds a guy appeared from thin air with Obito's kunai still in gut.

Once made sure the guy is knocked out, Obito immediately rushed to Kakashi. They bandaged his left eye and entered the cave where Rin is being held.

After saving Rin, the three are running towards the exit while the cave is collapsing.

Kakashi tripped on something and fell. Obito and Rin stopped and turned around.

"Kakashi... hurry and get up!" Rin yelled.

But Obito saw a huge rock falling just above Kakashi.

'No he won't be able to dodge it in time.' Obito panicked as he ran towards Kakashi and threw him towards Rin.

The boulder fell on top of Obito crushing his right side.

Kakashi and Rin ran towards Obito.

Obito gave Kakashi his left sharingan as a gift for his promotion as a jonin. But Kakashi didn't move from Obito's side, even when Rin tried to drag him away.

Obito sighed at his friends stubbornness, who he considers as a brother.

"Kakashi... please go..." Obito pleaded.

Kakashi shook his head, placing his hand on his left side where the sharingan has been transplanted.

"No... you taught me not to leave a comrade behind. So if you are going to die, I'll die here too." Kakashi said lying beside Obito.

Rin grew irritated. "That's enough Kakashi. Think about how Obito would feel."

"Kakashi... please go... it's fine." Obito pleaded softly, knowing how stubborn Kakashi can be if you provoke him.

"I said I'm going to die with you. I'm not moving from here. You can leave if you want, Rin. But if you leave, you will be a scum." Kakashi said.

"Kakashi that's not what I meant." Obito sighed.

"Kakashi, Obito, Rin!" Minato yelled as he entered the falling cave. "Let's get you guys out of here."

Before anyone could say anything, Minato grabbed Rin, Obito and Kakashi and transported back to Konoha hospital.

Obito and Kakashi are immediately taken to treat their wounds.

One week later...

Obito woke after his surgery on his right side.

He looked to his left and saw Kakashi sitting there staring at him wide eyed.

"I thought you'd never wake up." He sniffled.

The day after kyuubi attack and Rin's death, Kakashi began to avoid Obito at all costs.

Kakashi knew how Obito loved Rin, and he killed Rin. He couldn't even imagine Obito hating him for his mistake so he avoided every chance of meeting him and drawn himself in assassination missions.

Soon villagers started calling him names.

'cold blooded Kakashi.''Village traitor's son.''Sharingan thief.''friend killer Kakashi.'

"Why don't you leave the village, you disgrace?"

Kakashi froze.

He started hearing people telling him over and over again to leave the village. So one day, he decided to do just that.

He left and started the organisation Akatsuki, soon shinobi from other villages joined the organisation making it strong.

Kakashi learned about Infinite Tsukuyomi from Zetsu, where he can create a peaceful and happy world.

He wanted to create a world where Obito could live his life with his beloved Rin... He's doing it for Obito...

But why is he having doubts about continuing with the moon eye project after meeting Obito?

"It is my business." Obito yelled back. "You're important to me too."

"No. I will create a perfect world. Where you can live your life with Rin. Where all your dreams come true." Kakashi said.

"But that would won't be real. The Rim and Kakashi I'll be meeting there will be illusions. A part of genjutstu. The real Rin died. And the real you is standing infront of me." Obito said.

"I'm not real. The me who couldn't protect Rin is imposter. The me who couldn't make you happy is an imposter. In the real world, the real me will make everything right. Then you won't hate me and the villagers will accept me." Kakashi said with a closed eye smile.

But his eyes snapped open when he felt someone hugging him.

"How much pain have you gone through to think that you're fake and that I hurt you?" Obito tightened the hug and Kakashi could feel his tears in his eyes which he suppressed for 16 years.

"I never once hated you. Rin's death is not your fault. There was nothing you could've done. If anyone is to be blamed, it's the Root Anbu. You did everything you could, and I'm really proud of you." Obito released Kakashi, grabbed his shoulders and looked straight into his eyes.

"So please give me a chance to prove I am right. I want my Kakashi with all his faults and flaws back, not a perfect and ideal Kakashi."

Kakashi couldn't stop crying now. He hugged Obito and repeatedly said sorry. Obito just held him and whispered, "it's okay."

"So will you come back to the village with me?" Obito asked wiping away Kakashi's tears.

Kakashi nodded. "If it'll make you happy, I'll come with you."

"Nothing makes me more happy than spending time with my little brother Bakashi." Obito reached out and ruffled Kakashi's hair while Kakashi's offered his famous cute eye smile that always made Obito happy.

Just then, Kabuto decided this is the best time to attack.

He fired two black orbs towards Obito and Kakashi who didn't notice the attack.

But two other people did.

Sasuke and Naruto stopped their fight and rushed towards Kakashi and Obito.Naruto didn't know why he moved but his body felt like it was on autopilot mode.

Sasuke shielded Obito while Naruto shielded Kakashi.

The black orbs hit them and they both fell to the ground, at the verge of death.

'Dammit... I still don't understand why I protected kakashi.' Naruto thought.

'Is sensei and the white haired guy okay? Naruto got hit too. He better not die or I'll kill kabuto.' Sasuke thought.

They both heard people calling their names before death embraced them.
