Chapter 25

"Everyone started out a little insane, but we learn pretty quick how to fake it for the game."

Chapter 25Mission-bring-back-Naruto

No one's pov:

At the entrance of the cave stood two people. Naruto could see the sharingan glaring at him in the dark. The other one seemed to be a girl.

'Why did they come here?' Naruto thought as he stood up.

The other two visibly tensed at his movements. Naruto noticed but didn't say anything. He continued walking towards them as they took steps back, still ready to attack.

Once they reached outside, Naruto saw the two intruders' faces and smirked.

"Well, if it isn't Sakura and Sasuke... "

"Naruto..." Sakura trailed off shuffling back and stood behind Sasuke. Sasuke instinctively put his hand infront of Sakura protectively, much to Naruto's amusement.

Seeing Naruto's amused expression, Sasuke re-activated his sharingan.

"Why do you look so scared, Sasuke? Did you think that I would hurt your girlfriend?" Naruto asked.

Sasuke's eyes widened and Sakura chocked on thin air. Both started blushing.

"We... we're not..." Sasuke started but couldn't complete because of his flustered state.

"You're not what?" Naruto asked tilting his head, genuinely confused.

"I-wait...why are we talking about my love life here?" Sasuke shouted and Naruto blinked.

'Is he mad at me? Did I say something wrong? Wait...why am I worried about that?' Naruto thought.

Sasuke cleared his throat.

"Anyways, we're not here to fight you." Sasuke said and Sakura nodded.

"I never said I'm going to fight you." Naruto said.

The other two relaxed at his words.

"Unless you piss me off." Naruto completed tilting his head and smiling cutely.

Sasuke and Sakura would have cooed at their 'little brother's cuteness' if not for the threat.

Sasuke and Sakura both know that Naruto respect and listen to Sasuke, and only Sasuke. They noticed that Naruto is afraid to make Sasuke upset even back in the academy, so they decided before starting the mission that if they are trying to bring back Naruto, they should start by testing if Naruto's attitude is still same towards Sasuke.

Sasuke slowly walked towards Naruto and Naruto's smile vanished.

"Naruto-" Sasuke started but Naruto cut him off.

"Look Sasuke, I'm not coming back to that damn village."

"I know. I'm not here to bring you back to the village." Sasuke said.

Naruto looked at Sakura. Sakura nodded, smiling, confirming what Sasuke said is true.

Naruto looked back at Sasuke.

"Then why did you come here?" Naruto asked.

Sasuke's gentle expression suddenly darkened catching Naruto off guard.

"Did you kill Kisame?" Sasuke asked in a cold voice.

Naruto flinched and jumped back, hands on his sword ready to fight.

"Sasuke, stop... You're scaring him." Sakura scolded but Sasuke ignored her.

Naruto narrowed his eyes.

'Is Sasuke mad at me for killing Kisame? Why do I feel guilty? I shouldn't be feeling like this.' Naruto thought.

Unknown to him, the seal on his shoulder already started glowing.

"Naruto, answer me."

Flashback, before starting the mission:

Sasuke and Sakura were starting to move out until they heard someone calling for them. They turned around and saw Tsunade and Orochimaru walking towards them.

"What is it?" Sasuke asked.

"We want to tell you something. About Naruto's seal." Tsunade said.

"Naruto's seal? The one Jiraya gave him?" Sakura asked and they nodded.

Orochimaru started explaining.

"As you already know, the seal of despair seals away one's emotions and let them use the powers when needed. The one who bears the seal can be expressionless but their emotions won't be sealed away completely. A little bit of emotions will be inside him, which are connected to his past. The emotions can be sensitive, which can be triggered easily. When the sensitive emotion inside him is triggered, it produces other emotions and the seal takes it and seal away."

Tsunade continued, looking at Sasuke.

"Which is why Sasuke might be able to bring Naruto back. Even when you are back in the academy, Naruto looked up to you and strived to become just like you. He's afraid to upset you and always demanded your attention. If you can trigger the small amount of emotion left in Naruto and make him believe that you are mad at him for something, his other emotions will emerge, which activates the seal."

"We believe there's a limit to which the seal can contain. If we overwhelm him with emotions, we might be able to break the seal. If that happens, Naruto will come back." Orochimaru said.

Flashback ends.

"Naruto, answer me." Sasuke said.

"Yes. I killed Kisame." Naruto said.

"Why did you do that?" Sasuke face now showed hurt.

Naruto felt a pang in his heart. It's been so long since he felt something like that. The last time he felt it when he was back in the village.

"Tell me Naruto, why would you do such a thing?" Sasuke pleaded.

"I... I felt like doing so..." Naruto's eyes sting. He felt like throwing up. He felt dizzy.

His emotions started to go haywire. It's been so long since he actually felt something, so with this much emotions he was feeling, he forgot how to control them.

Naruto couldn't hear anything anymore. His head started spinning.

He caught glimpse of Sakura's and Sasuke's worried expression. He could see their lips moving.

He felt... scared.

He slapped away their hands holding his shoulder and glitched away.

He needed to get away. He needed to calm down.
