Bloody Noses
18:18, 26 December 2013My Christmas was amazing!! :D I spent the whole day with my boyfriend, doing Chirstmas morning with his family then I took him to my house :3 We took naps and watched Muppets when we weren't opening stuff XD.. I hope everyone had a perfect a holiday as I did! :)
Remember, I only own Lila Yale and my own twist on del Toro's amazing story :D. Now please enjoy while I listen to the Taliban song by Toby Keith :)
“Ready for some lunch?”
I leaned back in my hanging chair, looking down at Herc. The chairs were suspended from the ceiling and were controlled by buttons on one of the ropes that held it.
“Sure, I‘m starved.” I called back down, swiping away the sweat at my brow. As I lowered myself to the ground floor, I repushed up the sleeves of my sweater. I hoped Sydney wasn’t always this hot.
“So what do you think so far?” As soon as my feet hit the ground, I took off running towards the awaiting Ranger as he lead us towards the Mess Hall.
“She‘s amazing, Herc! Those Angel Wings are top of the line! And I thought I was going to have to order new Brass Knuckles to accommodate the new mods but the ones that are on it are even better! Please don‘t get me started on the super sexy Missile chest launcher!” I spoke excitedly, nearly jumping up and down as I spoke.
“Someone‘s excited.” Herc sent me a sideways smile as he opened the Mess Hall doors for me.
“I love Jaegers.” I breathed out, taking in the room filled with spaghetti smelling food and Australian accents.
“It doesn‘t show.” He said close to my ear, trying to be heard over top of the loud voices around us. My tray was filled with spaghetti and meatballs, broccoli and cheese with a bottle of water and a fruit cup.
“Come eat with us.” Herc offered and I smiled. I took a seat beside Herc, who graciously pulled out my chair for me.
“So you think the Missile launchers are sexy, huh?” I nearly jumped out of my skin when Chuck’s voice whispered low in my ear.
Soon after, there was a sharp dog’s bark and I felt large paws on my thigh. I looked down at the incredibly cute bulldog drooling all over my pants. But I didn’t care, I scooped up the adorable dog’s face in my hands and rubbed his ears.
“Oh my goodness, who is this handsome hunk!” I squealed, earning a dog slobbery kiss on the chin.
“That‘s Max.” Herc introduced and the said animal barked again.
“Is he yours?” I asked, rubbing down his back and ‘aww’ing at his cute little stub tail.
“He‘s mine.” Chuck clarified, sitting in front of me and offering his dessert to the bulldog. Max quickly left my side and devoured the food in three seconds flat before returning to my side.
“I’m so sorry, Maxie. If you ever need a new owner, I‘ll tell you where my room is.” I cooed, rubbing his ears between my thumb and fingers.
“You can tell me where your room is.” My head snapped up to the younger Hansen. Did his cockiness ever get shut off? That stupid side cocky grin was on his face.
“Chuck.” His dad threatened low.
“What?” Chuck asked innocently, even put his hands up in defense.
“He‘s fine.” I lightly touched Herc’s arm, trying to calm the angry father. Herc shot me an angry glance before sitting back in his chair, crossing his arms.
“Here‘s the directions to my room.” I leaned my elbows on the table, batting my eyes. Chuck’s grin widened as he also leaned forward.
“Take a left down ‘we’re never gonna happen’ hall, go through the door that says ‘never in a million years’ and that‘ll dead end at ‘only in your dreams’.” When I finished, Herc was nearly on the floor laughing.
I hadn’t heard a laugh like it in over a year. It was heartwarming and blood chilling at the same time. I loved hearing it but, it reminded me too much of the brother’s I missed more and more everyday. Herc pulled me from my darkening thoughts with a clap on the back.
“I like her!” He roared in laughter.
“Whatever.” I looked back at Chuck to see his mouth in a tight line as he roughly got from his chair, taking his tray and his adorable Max with him as he stormed out.
“Sure you can‘t stick around after your done?” Turning back to Herc, I smiled and shook my head.
“I think your son will hate me even more if I do.” I commented honestly, shoveling some spaghetti into my mouth.
“He doesn‘t hate you. Just isn‘t used to not getting what he wants.” Herc answered, turning back to his meal as well.
“Same thing.” His laughing nearly made him choke on his mouthful of food and quickly washed it down with his water.
After some more small talk between Herc and I, we both dumped our trash and stacked our trays in the dirty pile. We walked together for a while longer before he had to fork off down another hallway. As I waved to him, I ran right into someone’s hard chest.
I would have fallen straight on my ass if it hadn’t been for that person grabbing my arms and hoisting me back onto my feet. Just as I was about to thank and apologize to the person, it dried up in my throat when I saw the emblem on his shirt. It was a bulldog holding a missile. Only two people wore that emblem on their shirts, and one I just parted ways with.
“Can I help you, Chuck?” I asked coolly, stepping out of his grip and away from his reach. His blue eyes lazily looked me over again. I hoped he took the boring look I was shooting at him with my grey eyes as a sign to back off.
“I can‘t walk with a beautiful woman?” I groaned and shoved past him roughly, hoping he’d get the message that I was done with him for the day. But of course he ignored it and followed close on my heels.
“Hey!” He called after me, finally grabbing a hold of my arm. I stopped long enough to yank my arm free but that was all the time he needed to step in front of me.
“What‘s your problem?” Chuck moved close to me, way into my personal bubble.
“How about the fact that you can‘t use my name?” My hands fell on my hips as I prepared to face off with Chuck once again.
“Do you even remember my name?” I asked challengingly.
“How could I forget, Lila?” The way he said my name made cold chills run down my back. I shook off the feeling and steeled my resolve, pressing my index finger to his chest.
“Then use it. It‘ll be a start to me being able to stand your presence.” I pushed him back slightly, side stepping around the Ranger and stalking off down the hallway back to the hanger. I’d never met someone so infuriating in my life.
As I turned down the next hallway, there were two men leaning up against the left side of the wall. One was blonde and the other had dark brown hair and wore maintenance jump suits covered in grease stains.
When they spotted me, there backs straightened and they casually walked in front of me, halting my stomping pace. I crossed my arms and watched the men.
“Excuse me.” I asked as polititely as I could. Which still came out as a low growl. I was in no mood to put up with anymore idiots.
“Hey, you’re the American, right?” The blonde asked as he leaned towards me. I shifted my left foot back, immediately going into a relaxed defensive position.
“Your cuter than we thought you‘d be.” The other man said, his eyes raking over me much like Chuck’s did when I first met him.
“Take a picture, it lasts longer.” I growled, walking forward and shoving between the two men.
They pressed their shoulders together, stopping me from getting through and the dark haired one leaned low into my ear.
“What‘s with the cold shoulder?” I pushed him back a few steps, taking even more back of my own.
“Yea, we just want to have some fun, Sheila.” Blondie stated, taking a step forward and reaching for my arm.
“Love, I was just looking for you!” All movement stopped at the loud voice that boomed behind me.
An arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me flush against their side. I looked astonishingly up at the last person I ever though would help me.
“Chuck!” His blue eyes looked down at me, telling me to play along with this.
“Come on, we‘ve got things to do, right sweetheart?” He tightened his arm around me and pressed his lips to my forehead lightly.
“Excuse us, gentlemen.” When Chuck said it, it wasn’t a request. It was an order. His anger leaked through his tone and both the men stepped away, heads bowed low as Chuck lead me past them, into the hanger and up some stairs until we were up at Striker’s head.
“What the hell was that?” I yelled, smacking his hand away when we were finally out of sight of the two.
“Me saving your ass.” His calm voice didn’t help my nerves.
“I‘m more than capable of taking care of myself.” I growled, leaning on the railing of the catwalk.
“It showed. You weren‘t even trying to get away from them.” Chuck said, some irritation evident.
“Because there harmless.” I breathed, rolling up my sweater sleeves again.
“One thing you need to remember about men, Lila.”
Before I could move, Chuck had his strong hands on the railing on either side of my hips, effectively pinning me to where I stood. When he took a step forward, his muscular chest nearly touched mine and he dipped his mouth low to mine.
“Were never harmless.” His breath was warm and slightly minty with a hint of our lunch.
“If we want to, we could take a little woman like you.” When his hand pressed low on my thigh, it jolted my senses and I stared up at Chuck determinedly.
“I‘d like to see you try.” I leaned towards his lips, nearly touching them with mine.
When he moved to seal our lips, I ducked underneath his arms and around him. He quickly turned around, grabbing my wrists and pushing me back. My back slammed against Striker’s head while my wrists were pinned above my head. Chuck pressed his whole body up against mine and moved into my lips again.
My only defense was to bash my skull against his nose.
So I did it.
Blood went gushing everywhere and he let go of my wrists quickly, grabbing for his nose. A pained groan came from him as he sent me a fiery glare. I shot one right back at him, readying for another assault from him to come.
Tech’s had heard the scuffle and came running to see what had happened. When they saw Chuck holding his nose and his blood all over my sweater, there was no denying who’d hit him. As they pulled him away to go to the medic’s, his gaze never left mine. And I swore I saw a hint of a smile on his face just before he headed down the stairs.
One of the tech’s walked up to me, telling me Marshall Pentecost was wanting to talk to me on vid-com, I knew it had already gotten to him.
And I was going to be in deep shit.
What in the world was she thinking?! But you honestly didn't think she'd keep herself out of trouble, did you? :3 The next chapters to come are REALLY good! :D
