Seventeen - Snow in September

23:31, 12 April 2022

“Goodness, Cleos you’ll make it snow,” I shivered as Cleos dropped the temperature. It was past noon and Legolas and Zion went hunting while Aurelia finished patching up Aragorn’s wounds. Cleos and I finished our training and now he feels the need to make it feel like winter.

“That’s the point, you believe I can control the weather? We're putting your idea to the test,” he chuckled.

“There isn’t enough water in the atmosphere,” I said when nothing was happening. I faced my hands upward to draw the water from the clouds. A minute later, it began to snow and we laughed. “So we can control the weather together,” he laughed and I nodded. “I guess so,” I smiled.

“What are you two doing?” Hadrian asked as he and Nikolas walked towards us. I picked up a handful of snow and threw it at Hadrian. “Have you made it your life’s mission to antagonise me?” he asked, wiping his face as Cleos laughed.

“It’s easy when I’m bored,” I shrugged and a white wolf knocked me over. “Nikolas!” I laughed as he laid down on top of me. “Get off, Nik!” I laughed and he jumped off of me and rolled in the snow.

I sat up and got a snowball to the face. I wiped the snow off of my face and looked at Zion and Legolas, who had just arrived. “It was him,” Zion pointed at Le and ran the other way. “Zion, get back here!” I yelled and chased him through the courtyard as the others laughed.

I caught up and tackled him to the ground but he quickly flipped himself out of my grip and struggled to get to his feet. Another snowball flew and knocked him over, Dessa threw this one and I laughed “Mother!” Zion shouted and I laughed harder when Lia came out and hit him with another as well.

I laid in the snow to enjoy the chilled peace it brought me.

Then, two people laid on either side of me. “It’s nice isn’t it? The snow,” Cleos said to my right. “Very, do you know what makes it even better?” Hadrian asked on my left. Oh no.

Hadrian started to gather a ball of snow in his hand and I moved to my feet but Cleos caught my arms and my scream was cut short by the big ball of snow Hadrian threw at me.

I formed two balls of snow and shot them at both Cleos and Hadrian with my powers. The joys of working with water in cold temperatures. I scattered to my feet and ran across the yard as they both yelled my name when they couldn’t get the snow off of their faces.

As I tried to get away from them, I ran directly into Le and we ended up on the ground and we laughed. “Sorry, Le,” I laughed and sat beside him. “It’s alright, at least now I can do this!” He threw a handful of snow at me.

“And I thought you would be the nice one today,” I groaned and he laughed.

Nik jumped on Le, stopping him from laughing and I snickered. “Nik, it’s alright,” I said. The wolf huffed and ran to Hadrian, knocking him over.

I reached my hand out for him to grab and instead of pulling him up, he pulled me down on top of him. “So much for being the nice one,” he laughed. “You have proven me wrong, Greenie,” I tried to stand but his grip tensed.

“Legolas,”

“Yes, Reenie?”

“Would you kindly let me go,”

“Why?”

“Because I am asking nicely, please Legolas,” I laughed. “Alright,” he sighed and let go. “Thank you,” I threw a ball of snow at him and stumbled to my feet, running away in laughter. “Ver!” he shouted and chased me and I laughed.

“Come on, Dessa, give it a try,” We all were inside by a fireplace in the throne room with hot drinks. I told Dessa an idea I had, that she could move things with her mind.

“Ver, it is nonsense,” she sneered. “You won’t even try! I know you can do it, Hadessa, just give it a go,” I badgered and she rolled her eyes and stood. “Fine, but if you are wrong, I don’t want to hear it,” she countered. “And if I am right then you can move things without touching them,” I retorted.

She moved away from her seat next to Vardos and stared at a book for a moment and shook her head. “Nothing, I told you I can’t,” she stated. “Try again, Dessa,” I encouraged. She huffed and turned back to the table. She focused on the book and a few quiet, concentrated moments later, she had it steady in the air.

We cheered and clapped as she laughed and I stood and hugged her. “I told you so,” I cheered. “Nicely done, Dessa,” Martarys clapped. “Try something bigger,” Zion encouraged. “Let’s start small for now,” Dessa smiled.
