So, we can guess that the digimons bond with a few humans can go back many generations despite them being digital(or maybe because of that since digimons would have an easier time discovering time traveling) so what if they existed during the Taisho Era?

And by that I mean what if the Hashiras and Kamaboko Squad were the chosen children of their own time?

Like the Hashiras would take the role of Tai, Matt, Mimi, Sora, Joe, TK, Kari and Izzy as the 'first' chosen children(and their travelling to the digimon world would happen around the time they were 10/11...basically before most of them were traumatized and I say most because we all know Obanai's past) and then the Kamaboko Squad would take the role of Daisuke, Ken, Yolei and Iori as the next gen of chosen children(they would end up in the digimon world a bit before DS canon starts).

How would their journey be like? It is up to the writer but I would like they all ended up at least becoming close friends in the digimon world but when they returned to their world they all believed it was a dream until they met as each of them become an hashiras(so their relationship would be much better then canon) and probably the same thing happens in the Kamaboko Squad but most of them meet again in the Final Selection(and Genya did not try to hurt the Ubuyashiki siblings...and his relationship with Sanemi would be better as the other hashiras beat his ass when they found out that he left and ignored his traumatized little brother).

What about what would be each characters digimon? The writer can choose them but I will leave here the ideas I had about it: Gyomei-Aegiomon(Aegiochusmon Holy, Jupitermon, Jupitermon Wrath Mode), Mitsuri-Turuiemon(Antylamon, Cherubimon), Shinobu-Aruraumon(Weedmon, Blossomon, Lotosmon), Iguro-BlackGatomon(LadyDevimon, Minervamon, Mervamon), Sanemi-Gazimon(Leonmon, GrapLeomon, Leopardmon), Giyuu-Betamon(Seadramon, Whamon, Neptunemon), Kyoujuro-Gigimon(Guilmon, Growlmon, WarGrowlmon, Gallantmon), Muichiro- Patamon(Angemon, Angewoman, Ophanimon), Kanae-Tsukaimon(Witchmon, Bastemon, Lilithmon), Uzui-Biyomon(Karatenmon, Kuzuhamon, Kuzuhamon Maid Mode), Zenitsu-Pulsemon(Bulkmon, Boutmon, Kazuchimon), Tanjiro-Lunamon(Lekismon, Crescemon, Dianamon, GraceNovamon), Nezuko- Coronamon(Firamon, Flaremon, Apollomon, GraceNovamon), Inosuke-Bearmon(LoaderLiomon, Baihumon), Senjuro-Hyokomon(Buraimon, Butenmon, Chronomon Holy Mode)), Genya-Kotemon(Musyamon, Asuramon, Zanbamon), Kanao-Budmon(Lalamon, Sunflowmon, Lilamon, Rosemon), Aoi-Ariemon.

I know that they probably aren't the best matches but I thought they somewhat fit them also, I have no idea what would be the best crest for each of them so I also leave that for the writer to choose.

Also if you want Kagaya to have a digimon, his digimon would probably be Calumon.
