23(Crossover)

So I had two ideas for a crossover between Demon Slayer and Dororo.

The base for both crossovers is that there exist two types of demons, the ones that actually make deals with humans and feast majorly in their souls(basically the Dororo ones) and those who were born from a demon deciding to experiment by trying to turn a human into a demon(said experiment was Muzan and this leads to the existence of Demon Slayer demons). The first type of demons are rarely seen or are very hard to identify so most demon slayers have no idea about their existence but a few slayers had met met said demons in the past(with Hyakkimaru's adoptive parent having been one but after the encounter he decided to change professions).

Now to the first idea: I love Zenitsu and wanted him to have had met someone who actually loved him in the past(basically a relationship that wasn't a girl using him) so I thought what if before he met Jigoro he had encountered Hyakkimaru and Dororo? He had heard their story not out of their mouth but from their sounds(giving more meaning to Zenitsu being able to hear much better then others) and decided to travel with them(so he knows about the existence of both types of demons) and somehow he and Hyakkimaru grow close(...Zenitsu probably would be a bit older but I'm not sure of what ages they meet) but soon it reaches the point of when they go their separate ways(when Hyakkimaru continues his journey but Dororo stays but here Dororo would go with Zenitsu instead) with Hyakkimaru promising to finding the two of them one day.

So while Hyakkimaru continues looking for the last demons to get his full body back, Zenitsu and Dororo meet Jigoro and Kaigaku and become the first one's students(Zenitsu could keep his black hair here but that is up to the writer if he is hit by lightning or not).

Dororo does not take Kaigaku's bullshit and wakes him up to reality that instead of bullying others he should man up and accept his mistakes and try to do better or ask for forgiveness so Kaigaku does not become a demon in the future and while he sometimes is still mean towards Zenitsu it is more in the way two siblings are mean towards each other but would beat anyone who bullies their sibling.

After becoming demon slayers, Dororo ends up having most missions with Kaigaku while Zenitsu has missions alone which leads to him meeting Tanjiro, Nezuko and Inosuke.

Things would follow Demon Slayer canon except Zenitsu would not be trying to marry every girl or be a simp to them since his heart already had owner even if he wasn't ready to admit it.

When would Dororo and Zenitsu meet Hyakkimaru again? Well, it would be either after the defeat of Muzan(with many who died surviving) or during the Hashira Training Arc as I can imagine Kagaya hearing about Hyakkimaru and asking him to help train his slayers(even the hashiras).

Anything else I would leave up to the writer including if it is a fic with an open ending or if Zenitsu and Hyakkimaru end up together or not.

Now the second idea...what if Tomioka was Dororo?

Like Giyuu's parents die when she is very young due to a sickness and Tsukato takes to raising him, later with the help of her fiancé too, which then leads to Dororo's backstory but instead of her parents it is Tsukato and her fiancé in their places(and maybe a demon could have still targeted the Tomioka sisters but Tsukato forced Giyuu to run away since she knew that while Giyuu still had energy to run, she didn't).

Giyuu meets Hyakkimaru, lies about her name(uses Dororo because she feels like she does not deserve the name Tomioka Giyuu when her sister died to protect and raise her) and the canon of Dororo happens but instead of Dororo staying with the village(I do not remember if it was a village or just a group of people, sorry) Hyakkimaru and her travel for a bit more together and she meets Urokodaki and Sabito who Hyakkimaru trusts to take care of her so after promising to return, he leaves Giyuu with them.

It follows Demon Slayer canon about Giyuu's training, Sabito slapping her(Giyuu still feels guilty about Tsukato and that is adding about the people she later lost too like Mio), the final selection, Giyuu throwing herself into training and slaying demons, Giyuu becoming the Water Hashira and having a 180 turn in personality, etc.

When Giyuu was 21(and after Tanjiro's trial), Hyakkimaru finally got his last body part back and went to Urokodaki's house to find Giyuu with the older master informing him of everything that happened since he left Giyuu with them and also were Hyakkimaru could find Giyuu.

Hyakkimaru stays a few days with Urokodaki to get a bit of training on how to slay  the second type of demons(which he learns quickly as the first type of demons were much harder to kill and he was already proficient with a sword) and then parts to were the Demon Slayer Corps is with hope to meet Giyuu again.

I was thinking that them meeting again could happen during the one meeting were the Hashiras are informed about them having to train the other slayers(but with an alive Rengoku there) with Kagaya informing them that he got someone to help train both the hashiras and other slayers too.

This confused and annoyed the hashiras and before certain someone(probably Sanemi) could demand to know who was that person, Giyuu is shocked when she sees the man she loved and hadn't seen in years enter the room(no one else would notice Hyakkimaru enter because you can't tell me that after so long of having basically a doll/puppet's body, he hadn't adapted his human body to not make any sound or something like that).

Many thoughts were running through Giyuu's head and she was frozen in shock and didn't even realize when Kagaya presented Hyakkimaru and each hashira to him until it was Giyuu's turn.

Before Kagaya or another hashira could make a comment about Giyuu nto saying anything to Hyakkimaru, said man smiled at Giyuu and made a comment Giyuu still found embarrassing after all these years(basically the scene 'Dororo, you're pretty') which leads to Giyuu blushing and answering like she did at the time making Hyakkimaru laugh.

How things go from there(including the hashiras reactions, if Hyakkimaru and Giyuu get together, etc) is up to the writer.
