20(Shadowhunters)

This will be the first idea for this fandom that does not have Malec as I'm not sure how them ending up together would work into this Au so I choose to go for another ship for magnus but whoever decides to use this idea can use whatever ships they wish to use.

This is an Au where Magnus always kept an eye on the Branwell, Herondale and Lightwood families because of his friendship with Henry, Will and the others from their generation.

He was always there for their descendants except for Valentine and the others generation as he had to stay in the Spiral Labyrinth for something but he came back after the Circle was formed but before people realized its existence.

Magnus tried to fins his friends descendants but for some reason he couldn't find most of them which when he asked Imogen about it, she informed him that they died at the hands of a demon.

That casted suspicion on Magnus as he had given their parents a object that would protect them from most demons so them dying suddenly like that make no sense especially when it was to some of the not strongest demons shadowhunters dealt with often even if it was a big group of said demons.

So he focused more in this new generation and discovered the Circle as he saw them try to kidnap a child warlock after killing said childs' human parent in front of them.

That was how slowly things went like canon until Magnus somehow found the dead body of Celine and Stephen, he knew that would hurt Imogen but what made him confused was how Celine's stomach was open like someone operated on her but as he informed Imogen of the death of her son and daughter-in-law, he got his answer to what it could mean and Imogen asked if her grandson survived.

Magnus said he wasn't sure but that he would investigate, he spent years looking for Imogen's grandson and keeping an eye on little Lydia as he had no way of keeping an eye of the new generation of Lightwoods.

It was Magnus who found 'Michael Wayland' taking care of Jace and he immediately knew it wasn't the other man because he had been the one to identify his remains so he quickly made the connection that 'Michael' was actually Valentine so with the help of his friends they killed Valentine(because he should have just died and yes, Jocelyn approached another warlock for help...or maybe she approached Magnus much later then she actually did in canon?) and while Magnus would have loved to take care of Jace, he sent him to Imogen who was grateful that her son was alive even if a bit broken after being informed that Valentine had been raising him.

This lead to Imogen deciding to make a more throughout investigation on all Circle or possible Circle members and many were found to believe on the Circle or that they had committed more crimes then believed.

Maryse and Robert were taken from their 'punishment' of leading the New York Institute and were imprisoned when found out they were involved in the death of the Whitelaw family which left their kids orphaned, instead of leaving them with a shadowhunter family, Imogen decided to leave them under Magnus guardianship as she trusted him to raise them well as he raised her and many before her and she also decided that Jace shouldn't live under the pressure of being her grandson and sent him to Magnus too but visited him every weekend.

At first Alec wasn't very welcoming to Magnus as it was sudden change of his very strict parents to Magnus but slowly he opened up as Magnus didn't reprimand him, Izzy and baby Max for just being children and treated all of them and Jace the same.

It was as Alec was 12 when someone else started to frequent their house more often, it was the new High Warlock of Brooklyn(Magnus may have loved that job but being a High Warlock took too much time from his children as he was raising them alone), Lorenzo Rey, who while may be annoying more often then not didn't treat them bad for being shadowhunters like some others did.

Slowly Lorenzo integrated their little family and brought Andrew Underhill with him who was a shadowhunter Lorenzo had taken in after the sudden death of his father who had been the current Head of New York Institute since Maryse and Robert were imprisoned.

Alec still studied to be the Head of New York Institute as since he heard about what being and Head was like, he fell in love with it and wished to become one in the future and Magnus was more then happy to encourage his children to be whatever they wanted so with Imogen's(she became all the kids favourite grandma) help, he got someone to teach Alec everything he would need to know(they live in New York and the kids will all become shadowhunters...and none of them will die).

Izzy also found her future job as she watched a serie with a pathologist and once she informed Magnus about it, he only looked amused and told her to study hard as she was still a bit too young to start studying in University but that he would help her once she turned 18/19 to pay for tuition as he had no doubt she was more then smart to enter the degree she wished.

Jace was still undecided until he watched Magnus and Lorenzo train with different weapons and decided that he wanted to master every type of weapon and be strong enough to protect his family, and Magnus was more then happy to teach Jace and contact a few people to teach him the ones Magnus didn't know.

Max was the little baby of the family and was enjoying being spoiled as he trained to be a shadowhunter and thought about what he wanted to be in the future which he found out one day as he was listening to Lorenzo read a potion book out loud and asked to learn about it and that lead him to want to become potion master and healer.

And Andrew was always shy but under the care of Lorenzo and the Bane-Lightwood-Herondale family, he opened up and showed that he had an amazing vision and perception so he decided that he would train hard to be Alec's Head of Security.

It wasn't as Max's first rune ceremony was coming that Lorenzo got a more definite role in the family as he and Magnus informed the children they started dating which the children all welcomed him as he had been part of the family for a long time already.

How anything would go is up to the writer but it would be nice to see how the other characters(Clary, Simon, Maia, Luke, Jocelyn, Raphael, etc) got involved and what moment of the Bane-Lightwood-Herondale's lives did they appear and what they meant for them.
